Chapter 40 Selling Some Sob Story

Chapter 40 Selling Some Sob Story

"So, can you tell me now what happened to you?"

Hua Meili who suddenly cut in broke the awkward atmosphere and slowly rising invisible tension between their own group.

Even though she already knew from the book about what happened to Jin Hua during his journey to the west peh! His journey from the unknown island back home, she still wanted to know more about it from his own mouth.

Since she can't expect the author to write all his experience in the book, right?

There must be some omitted parts by the author when she was writing about the life experience of the villain in the novel.

The author won't have so much free time as to write a whole book about the villain's experiences in life so she can only ask through his mouth.

It's not like the author is so bored!

Being asked like this by Hua Meili, Jin Hua wryly scratch his cheeks as he recounted to her what he had experienced during his journey all the way here.

"Well... as I told you before, I was at a private Island doing some business when the Apocalypse struck. All the people I brought there with me for the trip had already died and the others turned into zombies."

Jin Hua started his story.

"At first, I don't know what was truly happening. I just thought that maybe some weird virus spread on that Island so I tried to escape from there. After a week of planning how to escape, I finally successfully made my escape using the boat that we used to go there. I was not able to access it easily since those man-eating people were patrolling in all the areas and the smallest sound could send all of them flying to the source, it was actually a miracle for me to survive that."

Jin Hua stops for a while before continuing, seeming to recall his not-so-good past experiences.

Listening to his past experiences, Hua Meili could just imagine just how much effort it took Jin Hua to successfully escape that island infested with Zombies.

Even though he was the villain second only to the protagonist, he is not like her who had so many cheats and knew almost one hundred and one ways how to survive during an Apocalypse.

He must have been rattled when he suddenly woke up and the world had changed.

Reality can sometimes be fuck up and hard to accept.

But despite all of this, she can only give her respect.

She respected strong people like him.

Even when danger comes to all corners, he did not forget to come back home for his forlorn sister.

"After I gained access to the boat, I immediately sailed down to the nearest city and there I met Shui. When I arrived in the city, I realized that the virus was not only on that Island but is already all over the world. That was truly one hell of a nightmare."

Jin Hua chuckled but his smile did not reach his eyes.

Maybe because it's not a nightmare that he can wake up from. But, the reality that he had to live.

Realizing this, he could not laugh happily.

'Nightmare? All of humanity wish it was.'

"Shui then joined me and we journeyed on together from city to city where we met the Yu brothers in Jie city and Hou at Shi city and we also rescued Pian at Luguan City. I'll tell you honestly, it was hard very hard, if we did not happen upon some firearms we may not be able to reach here. We traveled together from city to city experiencing many dangerous encounters with those Zombies, not only Zombies but also Humans."

Hearing what Jin just said, a cold light flashed in her eyes but immediately disappeared. No one noticed it only her butlers.

"Well it's all in the past now, there is no need to look back. What we need is to go on forward, not to look back."

"It's been hard on you brother..."

Hua Meili clasped Jin Hua's hand and squeezed it affectionately, he really pities him.

The villain's life is really so hard.

Holding his hand, she noticed the rough surface of his palms against her hands.

Upon closer look, she could even see some small wounds that had already scabbed from the time that it got wounded.

She could not help but frown when she remembered the younger version of him who had soft palms, soft as a baby's hands.

'How did his palms get this rough? Just how much hardship did he experience when he was coming here?'

"You, what happened to you?"

Jin Hua did not notice her weird expression as he gave her a warm gentle smile. Just like how he always did when they were younger.

Intertwining their hands together, he gave it a little squeeze. As if he was encouraging her to speak, speak out her grievances to him.

Sadly, if he knew the truth, he will be the one grieving.

Because when he was having a hard time outside, she was having the time of her life living a dandy lazy life!

While staring at each other, the two did not even notice the weird look that the others were giving them.

If they did not know better, they look more like a couple than siblings! They thought but dared not voice out.

"I...."

Hua Meili looked at Jin Hua with a complicated emotion before giving him a look of sorrow mixed with a little bit of grievance.

"When the Apocalypse struck, I stayed at the Mansion all this time fearing that something bad may befall upon me if I went outside. I kept on waiting on this Mansion until the day of your arrival just like I promised."

Hua Meili smiled at him with a forlorn look and a bit of understanding.

But actually, inside, she was laughing for thinking of such a lame excuse.

She could even see Zhongcheng Qingren and Guo Zhongcheng's mouths twitching when they heard her sorry of an excuse.

"I heard from Du Hexi that he heard some survivors say that their family members turned to Zombies when they woke up from their sleep. I'm really glad that I gave the servants some vacation or else the house may really be in chaos and your sister may have not live."

Hua Meili tearfully sold some pitiful sob story then wiped some of her almost nonexistent crocodile tears while laughing her a** off deeply down her heart.

What afraid?

What she can't even go out?!

She was f*cking eating her bento as she merrily sat at the center of a plaza full of Mutants coming at her from all directions, you call that afraid?!

Then, you must be blind and need to contact the mental institution.

"My dear sister, how you have suffered! Don't worry, brother will protect you!"

Jin Hua who had too thick of a sister filter and who was as blind as a bat quickly comforted her grieving sister as he vowed to always be there to protect her no matter what happens in the future!

Unknown to him, this same crying pitiful sister of his was smiling like a Cheshire cat secretly.

Listening to her sob story, the others also could not help but feel pity for her and also comforted her.

Thinking that she was really so pitiful and fragile that she needed big brothers like them to protect her, ah!

"We will also protect you, Meimei. Trust Gege!"

Gao Hou pats his chest trying to look reliable in the eyes of Hua Meili, his manly instincts to protect the other gender waking up.

"Do not worry since your brother and we are here we will not let any bad things happen to you."

Hearing her sob story, Mingque Shui gave her a warm smile thinking that she was just another weak cat that needed protection from the grownups.

Looking at her innocent self, she became more pleasing to his eyes.

"She's so lucky that she sent the servants out and the remaining didn't turn into a Zombie so she is safe, how lucky! Do not worry Meimei, Dajie will protect you!" Lian Pian said.

Immediately, what she said irked Hua Meili, even though she made it sound caring but behind her words were sinister intentions.

As if!! Were her subordinate's only expression.

They had experienced firsthand what she was capable of doing so they can relate it to all except for luck!

They don't think she is lucky but someone who had skills.

Can you wield Dual powers?!

Can you kill zombies while eating gelatos in your left hand and holding a sword in your right hand?!

Can you walk carelessly on the streets in the middle of an Apocalypse?!

How about having a picnic on the streets in broad daylight while being surrounded by Zombies?!

Hmmm, how about singlehandedly defeating a Phase 2 Mutant then?!

If you can't do any of this, then scram!!

Remembering all her crazy antics still gives them the chills up to this day, yet awe could also be seen in their eyes as respect occupied their hearts.

"Thank you, everyone."

Hua Meili sniffed before giving them a brilliant smile that somehow crept into their hearts.

Never did she expect that her acting skills were really that convincing that she really made them think that she was just a fragile useless weak little rich missy.

Can she finally win the Oscar Award?!
