After eating, Hua Meili decided that it was time to go.
She opened the shop's door and walk out of the door.
Fresh air with a scent of blood greeted her when she walked out of the store.
She pulled her mask down from her head and covered her face again.
"Uhm.. Are we going now?"
Pingjun Dao quickly wore the mask Hua Meili tossed to him.
The mask was a plain white mask with three holes at each cheek under the eye. It covered his entire face.
He does not understand where this kink of hers came from but wearing a mask seems cool.
It's like he is some sort of a mysterious expert straight out of a novel about to go on a kickass journey across the whole continent!
But in reality, he was just some sore loser who was a sidekick of a mysterious beautiful expert.
What a beautiful tragedy…
"Yup. You can at least fight with one or two of those Mutants, right? Then you'll be fine."
Hua Meili pat Pinjun Dao's shoulders trying to reassure him.
"I- I will be fine!" Pinjun Daocomforted himself.
Even though he had never seen his 'Boss' in action, but since his instincts told him that she was strong he trusted her.
And seeing her just walking around like there are no hidden dangers around, like taking a morning stroll in the park, reassured him even more.
A look of reverence started to form in his eyes.
He patted his own back happy that he was smart enough to hug this big golden thigh!
He really chose the right person to follow!
Pingjun Dao is sure that many people will die of envy looking at his position in the future!
He could just see it!
Following Hua Meili like a puppy, Pingjun Dao brightly smiled for the rest of the way.
It was a hot and scorching day despite the cold, summer had already come.
The sun was up high and it was broad daylight but not even an arm or leg of a Mutant could be seen on the streets.
The duo had walked for almost about an hour but there were still no Mutants in sight.
If one didn't know better, than an Apocalypse world they would think that it is a Ghost world they had transmigrated into.
Who can blame her for thinking so?
The streets were empty and quiet, no living being or living dead were roaming the streets fighting or eating each other!
This sight, than to be called apocalyptic chaos it should be called a Ghost Day Horror since ghosts were more likely to appear than Mutants!
"Why is it so quiet?" Pingjun Dao whispered to himself but because it was too quiet the sound reached her sensitive ears.
"It looks like something is up." Hua Meili guesses based on her experience.
As an expert novel reader who had read thousands of books and analyzed many scenarios from almost all genres, Hua Meili is sure that this 'lively' silence is not what it is.
From what she had learned, there should be a trap somewhere.
She looked warily at her surroundings.
"About what?" Pingjun Dao said confused.
"Well, any minute now... Oh speaking of it, here it comes!"
Hua Meili excitedly pointed in a direction where 5 humans were running away from a horde of Zombies.
They were running like their life depended on it! Or it was!
The five survivors who looked like some ragged beggars looked like they had been injected with chicken blood when they caught sight of the two duos.
As if heaven had given them their last hope, they ran straight toward them.
"Are those Mutants running after them?! Oh shit! They are coming towards us! Those assholes! They were my ex-teammates that abandoned me."
Pingjun Dao fumed when he recognized the faces of the five people who were quickly running toward them.
He felt that they are up to no good.
Then, reality hit him!
"Boss, let's run. They are trying to lead those Mutants to us. They will definitely use us as a scapegoat!"
Pingjun Dao hurriedly grabs Hua Meili's hand trying to run away as quickly as possible.
No matter how strong Hua Meili was, they could not possibly face that horde of Mutants!
But no matter how much he pulls, Hua Meili stayed rooted in her place.
Pinjun Dao looked at her in utter horror.
The seemingly fragile little girl who he had recognized as his Boss, though he knew that he was strong, couldn't possibly be this monstrous! Right?
Against a fully grown-up adult ex-military man, how can a little girl fare?
Ex-military man vs little girl.

"Didn't you say you wanted to take revenge against them?"
Hua Meili leisurely took her hand off from Pingjun Dao's hold. She crossed her arms against her chest.
"Then, this is just perfect."
Having them serve their own head on a silver platter is really perfect for her. Since they were willing to come straight to her, she won't reject them.
How could she possibly reject their kindness, right?
"Here, use this. Climb towards that window and fire this gun three times or more when you got there. I'll take it from here."
Hua Meili shoved a rope and a gun into Pingjun Dao that was taken out of her so-called "space".
Pingjun Dao looked at her dumbfounded.
"Are you crazy?! There are triple a dozen of Mutants or so! If I use this gun, it could attract more of them. Are you going to commit suicide?!"
Pinjun Dao tried to persuade her to escape with him but Hua Meili was not listening to him.
He knew that she was powerful and capable but that is a horde of Mutants, not ants!
"I am not trying to die. I, Hua Meili do not fight a losing battle."
Hua Meili who was keeping her silence until now looked back at Pingjun Dao and smirked.
Pingjun Dao froze stiffly on his spot seeing her confident smile.
He never knew that someone could still shine this brightly during an Apocalypse.
Since the Apocalypse started, no matter where he go, he could only see darkness and only darkness.
The sparkling and brilliant light that he could see commonly in people before the Apocalypse started had gradually dimmed and dispersed as days go by.
Even the brightest of stars fell and shatter like dust.
There was no more light within the darkness.
But now…..
'What a blinding light. I can't help but want to be immersed in this warm light forever.'
"Now, go and do as I say!"
Hua Meili forcefully pushed him away to the other side.
Seeing such a stubborn girl, Pingjun Dao sighed and had no choice but to do as she says.
Like some sort of monkey, he quickly scaled the walls trying his best to reach the top or just a little of it quickly.
When the five approaching humans saw Pingjun Dao scaling the walls, they got very worried.
Even though their body had improved after the mutation period as they call it, they could not possibly scale the walls in a second without getting caught by the Zombies behind them.
The Zombies were only an arm away from them.
If they miscalculated and let them even take a step closer to them, they will be doomed.
But seeing that Hua Meili was still standing where she is made them sigh in relief.
They really thought that she will follow behind the smarty pants and scale the walls. That would really leave them no hope to live.
But knowing that she is a fool made them happy enough to die, live!
They looked at Hua Meili like she was some sort of a fool and thought that she might have already given up seeing the Mutants approaching or maybe she was just some weakling ordinary human who can't even scale the walls!
Knowing that she had already accepted her fate made it just perfect for them!
They were 15 meters away from her when...

A loud sound of a gun echoed in the empty streets.
The approaching group paled and looked at the idiotic person who shot the gun and saw a waving guy with a sly smirk pulling his mask off.
Looking closer, it was the ex-teammate they had abandoned!
"Shit! It's that Pingjun Dao! Is he trying to take revenge because we left him to die!" One of the members of the group said gritting his teeth in rage.
"Shit. Shit! Shit!! If he wanted to die, why not go to hell alone? Why must he bother us!"
"I knew he is nothing but trouble!"
The group exchanged curses with each other while running when a sound reverberated all across the streets.
"Roarr!!"
