Chapter 2 : Catching up .

After running some tests 1 hour just passed, they moved me back to my room and there I saw an aged couple waiting for us, so this is father and mother.

I looked at them and they looked back, they wanted to say something but the words didn´t come out, they couldn´t believe what is happening here. I looked at them and smiled and said

" well hello there "

and since they are in my room then I am pretty sure they are my parents, so I didn´t ask them who they were, I couldn´t do it and turn them down, well it is a happy moment for them, let the director tells them that I don´t remember a thing and be faced probably with their wrath.

Tears began flowing down from my "mom" as soon as she heard my voice.

My " dad" was also shocked to the core so he just stood there, well I can tell from his eyes that he is happy to see me awake.

" It must 've been hard on you two just take a seat, I 'll let you catch up while waiting for the test results, oh and by the way I need to tell you something first, your kid has some issues with his memory and his muscles are still weak so he can´t sit or move much, as for the memory let´s wait for the test result and we will see what is going on, take it slowly and try to help him know who he is, a bit about his past maybe you can trigger some memories, if not it is not a problem though, I think he can live with that and start anew, just don´t force him to do much now and don´t be hard on yourselves too, he may have forgotten but he is finally awake ."

those were the director´s words for my parents before he left.

Both stood there in a trance not knowing what to do or say, I knew it is too much for them so I just spoke to wake them up

" well it is not much of a problem even if I don´t remember anything now I may still get my memories back, I woke up from a 20 years coma so nothing is impossible "

giving them a bit of hope is what matters anyway, and hope works wonder: I saw the life come back to both of them so they just sat down and tried their best to be happy and enthusiastic for me

" well son we are happy that you are finally awake, ah I forget that you don´t remember a thing, it may be a bit weird but I am Clair your mother and this is Emanuel your father your name is brian and you are 45 years old now, you have a sister who is studying abroad we had her after you were in coma so you don´t know her, she will be coming home soon so we didn´t call her back now, we decided to let her finish her semester first, luckily it is almost time to come back so better not interrupt her study now, I think she will be back in a week, oh yeah her name is Linda ."

I was surprised by this, a sister, this unexpected, well since I was in a coma I think she was the only relief they got, and she may be the reason they didn´t lose hope and continued with my treatment and waited for many years, a kid can help the parents fight their depression and loss.

" That´s good to hear, even if I don´t remember a thing a family is good for everyone. Oh I heard from the director that my treatment was experimental and you tried your best even with the health minister to get the ok for the director to use it, I am really happy that you took the risk "

" Well the minister was a classmate of mine and he is a good friend too so he helped us with many things at the time, now he is no longer the minister but even after the change of ministers he helped us get along with the new minister so that we can continue with the treatment, well you know your treatment needed to be continued for a long time ."

" It must 've been difficult on you two "

" Nah don´t mention it you are our blood and bones, we will do anything to get you out of your coma," said my mom.

" Oh yeah, you don´t remember anything before your accident ? " asked my father

" mmm I tried to remember but I couldn´t, it is a bizarre feeling I know many things but I can´t remember my past, for example, I knew that I was in a hospital, I knew what all these machines are for, other then peoples name and relationship with me, that I really can´t remember, oh let me ask you something and try to understand my situation better together "

Dad and mom were a bit surprised wasn´t this supposed to be the doctor's role now why is he thinking about that. Their thought was something like that but they were happy to hear that I am not sad about my memory loss so they decided to try it out with me " ask away "

" I am the founder of a high tech company and your mother is the co-founder so we basically we founded our own company before you were born, it was a small scale company at first but now it is the biggest high-end tech company in the country "

" So you produce all sorts of machines in your company ?"

" Well not, the high-end machines from 20 years ago are now common, those are mass-produced by others, we develop all that´s not in the market for everyone so that maybe in 10 or 20 years they became common machines, we focus more on research and innovation "

" mmm I got your point, well to my second question, I know that I had an accident the day I graduated so what was I studying ?"

" you studied literature, and graduated after 7 years, you were a slow learner and it took you twice the amount of the time others used to graduate," said mom but there was no hint of anger or disappointment in her voice, there was something else, hmm I think it is pride, why is she proud of me being a slow learner? " So I was a slow learner, mm, were you both not disappointed in your son being a slow learner and studying literature when you were the founder of a whole company? I mean only people with smart brains and hard work can achieve what you both did! "

and now was my dad turn to answer :

" well you weren´t the brightest or the smartest of all kids since you were born you had a brain damage since birth and to compensate for that damage you studied hard every day, you made twice or thrice the effort anyone will do, and you even with your slow ability to remember things you tried your best and finished you study after a long time, but still you finished, even your professors were happy for you at the time since all of them knew of your hardship"
