Chapter 7

As Vireon's squad approached the unusual creature's discovery location, they hunted some small game, mostly small squirrels and rabbits including their own new variants. Most birds and small animals avoided the mountain and made their homes quite far away from its base. Many druids spent years trying to find out why they avoided that place, only to find a simple answer after years of searching, the Gett. The Gett were the strongest creatures in the area, and they emitted an aura of danger, one that most animals can notice, and only stronger creatures could ignore it.

Vireon had no plans to go up the mountain, but he did however want to go back to where he killed the unusual creature, and even further in case that was where they lived. The feeling he got back then would have deterred most others, but Vireon was certain that whatever had hostility towards him was gone, or at least not nearby. He was also worried that the druids would send him away if they happened to find him. As he was caught up in his thoughts he didn't notice the druids staring right at his squad.

While Vireon was getting caught by the outer council and sent in another direction, his father and sister stood with their respective squads at the base of the mountain looking up at it. They had come with the first and second Elder's secretly to try and ask the Gett if they knew anything about the new creature that Vireon had found. The Hunters that were part of this squad had followed the chieftain for years, long before the current tribe was taken over. Each was a level four hunter and only just below Vireon in skill. Vireon's father Vir and his sister Eo were the strongest warriors by far in the tribe. Even in their old tribe they were elites. Vir was level seven and Eo was level six, only the First elder was comparable to Vir and had also come from the old tribe, along with most of the Council. Even if this wasn't Vir's original tribe he would protect them regardless of the danger of death, and despite the danger, the Gett likely had an answer to the questions the First Elder was so concerned about.

The Gett were like badgers with clans or families and they each were self-sufficient and mainly hunted alone. However unlike normal badgers the Gett grew smarter and stronger as they got older and with long lifespans they could even learn magic, and not the druidic spells that the elders knew but Arcane magic. Druids used Aura to cast spells instead of magic, and as most elders were hunters at one point, they view magic with an air of mystery and danger. The fact that the Gett could cast real magic spells made them all the more dangerous. Thankfully only the leader of each clan would normally be capable of casting spells. They also were the only ones who could communicate without a druid's help.

The group had been warily searching the surroundings as the First Elder was only friends with one clan and any other clans might still attack them. While the Gett weren't cannibalistic they would still fight with other clans, and the tribesmen didn't want to be targeted as food or caught up in a turf war. Not only that but there were other animals around and could be dangerous as well, not as dangerous as the Gett but still a threat.

Eventually a large form was seen walking over, standing a full twelve feet tall on its hind legs walking like a human towards them. It was the Gett leader that they were waiting for, its large size made it quite easy to notice, but it definitely moved far faster than one would expect for its stature. The First Elder took a deep breath and began walking to the Gett leader, and after a moment of hesitation Vir and Eo followed. Under the tense watch of the hunters and the Second Elder they approached the large creature not letting down their guard.

"Oh great one, me and my chieftain request your great wisdom and counsel, please pardon our rudeness to bother you this day!" The First Elder exclaimed with a nervous tone. The Gett looked down at the three tribesmen before going down on all of its legs, then laid down.

"What do you want?" It asked in an impatient voice. "You don't normally bother me for anything."

"We have come in regards to a new creature we have never seen before, not a variant that we know of, according to the report I received at least. It apparently looked like a floating ball of light and could be killed or hurt by a normal arrow."

The Gett Leader stared at the First Elder, and after several nerve racking minutes finally spoke. "You have found something that I hadn't heard of until recently, I personally saw at least one, it was heading to the top of the Great mountain. Though I would not go up there, a new beast resides up there as well. While not very big it was quite strong. It was a bipedal reptile-like creature a little smaller than you, with green scales that even the best hunter of the Windless clan could not get through easily, you would have no chance of winning." the Gett then stood "it killed at least two Gett of the Windless Clan and captured a few Mountain goats. You should just hope that the two creatures aren't connected and just pretend you never saw that ball of light." It said before leisurely walking away.

"We thank you for your kind wisdom!" the First Elder shouted. He then turned to look at Vir and Eo. " We should go back, the council has much to discuss." His face was one of uncertainty and fear.
