I walked into school it was my 8th-grade year and I was ready to get out of this school. I searched the hall until I found my locker at the very end I looked to see who was beside me. I burst with excitement I was next to Edy, Edy and I have been friends since before we knew how to talk. I couldn't believe it as I unpacked my thing I heard an all too familiar laugh from behind me but before I could turn around I felt someone wrap their arms around my shoulder and soon the ground from under me was gone and I was spinning around in the air. As I giggled I heard Edy laughing and I said in between laughs
"Edy stop!!" He put me down at my request and we talked about our summer since we hardly saw each other. At lunch, we meet up with the guys and had a blast it had only been one summer but it felt like forever since I had sat with the guys and duked it out with them I loved being a part of their weirdness and following Edy's lead. I trusted all of these guys with my life if they asked I'd follow them to hell and back. I would miss our usual lunch with them fighting over God knows what and me stepping in and giving my opinion and them moving not to the next stupid argument and the repeating until it was time to go back to class. As I went home that day I started to think about the guys and how much I would miss them as I went through the mental list in my head I final hit Edy. I realized that over the years my friendship with him was evolving and I didn't know why or how I had come to this but I knew I wanted to be more than friends someday and as I thought of this I thought of how I was going to face this. The first thing I tried was to just leave it be and continue as if everything was fine. The next day I walked in and saw Edy standing at his locker unpacking his backpack it was my turn to surprise him I quietly set my backpack down nearby and sprinted vaulting myself onto his back he stumbled back and laughing.
"Logan, what are you doing?"
" Returning the favor from yesterday what does it look like I'm doing?" As I climb off I retrieve my backpack from the nearby corner and unpacked as we finished we headed to class and the threat to my sanity began as our science teacher droned on about the syllabus she handed out yesterday as Edy mocked her when she wasn't looking I had to cover my mouth to keep us both out of trouble. By the end of the day, I was tired and still had to walk all the way back home. When I got home I fed my dog and got out the syllabuses that my mom had to sign left them on the fridge with a note because she works late hours so when she gets home I'm already asleep. Normally I would have dinner with my dad but last year he was walking home from work and a truck didn't see him coming and hit him. The lady that witnessed the crash said that he kept telling her to give Logan a box and not to open it until I was fourteen. And that box has remained unopen on my nightstand.
