To a new world

It was early summer. A sixteen year old boy by the name of Leonard was admiring the sky at a grassy plain, beside him were his beloved twin swords, "Chaos" The pitch black blade and its twin "Serenity" the calming blue blade.

He stood up his red coat swaying in the wind, his black pupils gazed forward as he shouted "Damn it! This is so boring!"

He looked around, behind him were a hundred of unconscious men. He started to poke one of them with the scabbard of serenity.

"Hey are you guys going to sleep here forever? Come on! Stand up and fight me again! Aren't you guys the prided tiger something clan or dragon thing... Well whatever just stand up and fight me again! This is soooo boring!"

Yet no matter how many times Leonard poked at the men, they just wouldn't wake up. "Damn, did I overdo it? Cause it's been a long time since someone challenged me."

Leonard clicked his tongue in frustration. This world was so boring everyone in this world was too weak!

'Did dad lie to me? He told me it was alright to get stronger and stronger and someday something worthy of my strength would appear.'

'Yet it's been a year since his and mom's deaths and still no one in this world could match me. There's no more challenge, even these guys who would've proven a challenge to me if they fought me a year ago turned out to be really weak'.

Leonard started walking with a sour look on his face clearly displeased by the events. Feeling something change in the atmosphere, he unsheathed his swords and showed a vicious grin.

Beyond the clear plain, stood a man with a majestic looking longsword, though it was a clear and sunny day and the man was not wearing anything to hide his face. Leonard still couldn't see it, he couldn't see the man's face despite looking straight at him.

It was not because Leonard had bad eyesight, no, on the contrary he actually had an eyesight akin to an eagle's. So why wasn't he able to see the face of the man ahead of him. So many mysteries yet Leonard didn't care at all. He was simply delighted to meet such a man that his instincts were telling him, was dangerous.

He had never felt such a thing before even when facing, wild animals. "Hey old man what is it you want? A duel perhaps?"

Leonard started to question the man but was met with silence. Still Leonard felt elated and started to laugh "hahaha! Yeah! You're right no words are needed between swordsmen who both have drawn their blades. Only battle is needed right!?"

Without waiting for a response Leonard rushed forward. His speed was incredible in the blink of an eye he moved next to the man and slashed him. For a moment his hands turn into a blur yet despite his speed the man simply dodged by a hairs breadth. This brought even more joy in Leonard's heart

"Yes this is it! For the first time in a long time I've met someone who could dodge my first strike. Now that I know you are worthy I'll show you my true swordsmanship."

The boy in front of me is Incredible. The sheer speed of his sword strike was godlike. I at that age wasn't even close to his level and now he's telling me he wasn't serious.

The boy in front of me who called my lost and tattered soul into this dimension after centuries, was smiling viciously. This was the smile of warriors who hunger for battle, for someone worthy to fight.

The boy then relaxed his arms the twin blades he was holding where pointing downward. He entered a natural stance, something I have never seen before. I who was said to be the best swordsman in history, was actually frightened by a boy who looks no older than sixteen.

Every one of my senses are accustomed to life and death battles, but they fail me now. Every fiber of my being was screaming to get away from this boy. Hahahaha, this is funny I who already sacrificed myself, I who died for my world, and the woman I love, is actually afraid to lose? This is hilarious, has a hundred years of wandering change me? There in front of me is this warrior dying of boredom and looking for a worthy foe.

He who called me from the abyss, isn't it disrespectful to not answer his blade in kind. I readied my stance and waited. The boy looked shocked for a moment, then he smiled even fiercer than before.

He moved forward as if simply strolling. A second later my hand moved instinctively to block. The sound of metal clashing could be heard. I was pushed back by the strength of his attack. Shit I couldn't even see the move, worst of all that strike was incredibly powerful.

Though I was able to block it due to the reflex and strength I acquired fighting numerous battles. The mere idea, that I couldn't see the strike was already a sign of my defeat. Yet I couldn't back down here and disappoint this child.

Leonard was feeling ecstatic.

Someone was actually able to block one of my attacks, when in this stance. Though hr still wasn't using 100% the idea of blocking one of his strikes in this stance, was definitely a first.

Now to continue the fun. In the next instant a series of blows were exchanged. After five minutes it was clear to anyone who held the advantage. The mystery man was already out of breath and full of bruises on the other hand Leonard wasn't even sweating.

Leonard sighed "Is this all? It ain't right? Please don't tell me this is it! I wish for more! Didn't you come to elevate my boredom?! Haven't you come to answer my wish! So please, I beg of you, tell me this isn't all!" Leonard looked in pain, even though he wasn't even scratched.

The boy started pleading to me. His face was distorted with sadness, yet here I was unable to answer his pleas.

This temporary body given to me for the sake of meeting this boy, was reaching its limit. Damn! Once again I'm unable to make anyone happy. Once again I see such a face of sadness.

It was the same with Eva. Wasn't there something that I could do, to help this boy? There must be something I can do. There must be a reason as to why, it was I who answered his call. !!! Of course this boy wishes to feel the excitement of adventures and battles. Then the only way to help him is to send him to a place where he can find that feeling. "Boy, I have a suggestion."

The man spoke for the first time. "Boy I have a suggestion. Would you hear me out?" Leonard was startled, it took him awhile to regain his composure to answer.

"Sure I would like to hear you out. But before that. Now that I know you can speak, I need to introduce myself. I am Leonard Tranor and you are?"

The mystery man did a knightly bow and answered "Sorry, under normal circumstances I wouldn't be so rude. So allow me to present my name I'm Rain just call me that for now."

Leonard nodded at the knightly response of Rain. "So Rain what is this suggestion of yours? Will it alleviate my boredom?"

Even with the distortion on his face, Rain seemed like he was smiling "I guarantee that it would be far better than this. What I propose, is sending you to a world full of adventures."

"You're suggesting to send me to another world."

"Yes"

"Will there be worthy opponents?"

"Many far better than me."

"Then show me the way!"

This boy... No Leonard, answered without hesitation, he didn't doubt a word I said. A warrior gifted with great skill with the sword, an unyielding will, and a courageous spirit. If it's this boy, he could probably achieve greater things, than I ever did in my lifetime.

"Well before we go you probably should tell your family and friends." Leonard looked at the sky and with a complicated face, he smiled at me his smile was an awkward one, compared to the smile he shown during our fight. This smile of his had the feeling of emptiness.

"There's no need for that. My parents... I can't, meet them anymore. As for friends I can't say I don't have any, but well it's complicated."

Rain nodded in acknowledgment "is that so. Then I guess we might as well go. Are you ready?" Leonard turn to look at the scenery of his world for one last time and answered "let's be on our way."

"Alright come here and take my hand, no matter what you must never let go." Leonard nodded in affirmation.

Leonard took Rain's hand upon confirming that they both had a firm grasp of each other's hand, Rain nodded and began concentrating.

His hand felt hot it was hotter than anything Leonard has ever touched. But it was not a fearful heat but something gentle. After ten odd seconds the scenery started to become distorted as it changed into pure darkness. Nothing could be seen in the surrounding area. Leonard wasn't even sure if his eyes were still open.

The only comfort he had in the situation, was he still felt the warmth of Rain's hand. Before he could even understand the situation the scenery started to change again. The two had entered a forest.

Leonard felt lighter for some reason. He then swung his arm to check for changes. It was a normal swing yet it was as fast as his best swing. That's when Leonard noticed what had changed. To test out the theory he had, Leonard picked up a rock, and threw it as hard as he can towards the sky.

The rock flew beyond what he expected, but still it proved his point. "The gravity here is much lighter" Leonard mumbled to himself.

"Gravity?" Rain questioned, "It's nothing don't mind me. So Rain this is the world you were talking about? It doesn't really seem different from my own world, except that it feels lighter here."

"Really, how about you try looking over there." Rain sounded haughty as he pointed to the east. Leonard looked where Rain was pointing at, as he turned his head to the east, he saw a flying dragon.

Rain spread his arms wide open and spoke in a loud voice "Welcome to the world of mighty dragons, formidable Gods, beautiful elves, stomping giants, proud dwarves, enchanting spirits, mighty beasts, cunning demons, bewitching fairies, shining angels, and greedy humans."
