III

She's crazy. For a moment, she was scared of her replica, but now she act as if they were close long a time ago. Frenemies, that's how you can define their civilization in third person, but both of them, know that they're hiding something.

They're each other's' worst nightmare.

"Stay here. Act normal when somebody arrives. Don't you dare say that you come from a mirror! They'll think I'm crazy. You'll be ruining my reputation."

Natalia's demand made Natasha burn in the inside. Well, she's always been burning. But she's feeling heat that not even a gallon of water can pacify. Anger is overwriting her whole persona, and she wanted Natalia nothing but be gone in her world.

"Nobody would ever believe when if I ever say that I came from a mirror. And no worries, I won't do anything that will harm you physically and emotionally. Remember, I am who you are. If you suffer, and we don't want that."

But both of them were masochists, and sadists. And they don't care if someone suffers; they will even be glad, even to themselves.

"Make sure of it," Natalia finally said before turning her back on her replica as she rolled her eyes. Then she head to her room to take a bath. The latter does the same thing. Her anger right now cannot be measured, how can Natalia be cruel to own self?

Natasha uses her eyes to explore the whole living room. Imagining how happy could she be when she's living in the place, but she doesn't. All she can do is to envy the real her because the real can live in the real world, and she just live in the damn cold world of reflections.

Then she notices something in under the mini table. She gets the albums and opens it. She saw the pictures of Natalia beginning from she was a kid. She can remember it, probably because Natalia could remember it too.

It was her last birthday with her father. Natalia loves her father so much. Right now while she's bathing, she's playing the favorite playlist of her father. As the water from the shower drops on her face, nobody could ever notice the tears falling from her eyes, not even herself.

Natasha felt nothing as she stare in the picture. The only difference between her and Natalia; Natasha is cold-hearted, and Natalia—almost, but not quite.

She continued scanning the pictures on the album, and in every picture, she can see the smile in Natalia's face. The bigger Natalia's smile is, the bigger the hatred towards her real self grows. Anytime she might burst out, but she does nothing. She can't cry. After all, mirror moist during cold times, and right now, she's burning.

Then Natalia's mother arrives.

--

All of the music stopped. Three songs weren't enough for her to listen in a one bath, so she was about to reshuffle the playlist but she heard something: Two girls talking to each other. She gets out of the bathroom to check Natasha downstairs, and she saw her with her mother.

She saw Geraldine checking on Natasha, asking her questions. She does what would a mother do her daughter. And it should be her, not that replica of her who was jealous with her. Natasha wanted to steal Natalia's life; she may do a great job.

From the second floor, she saw Natasha stand up and went to check the thermostat. Wow! Why is she doing that? And then she remember, there lot of times that her mother asked her to check the thermostat, and she never obeyed her.

"She's trying to be daughter material. Huh. What a wannabe."

She noticed that Natasha is scanning their photo albums; carefully looking at every page. While her mother were observing her in silent, thinking that she's weird today. She's not weird today because that's not her—or technically it's her, but still not.

She noticed that they're coming upstairs so she quickly and hide at her bathroom. She can hear them coming, and then she heard the door opened. She slightly opens the door and peak at them. Then she saw her mother kissing Natalia's forehead before finally leaving the room.

She closed the door and open the shower quietly, she still have to finish bathing. For a minute, she knows that her mother will leave since she's workaholic. The water is breezy, but her hot head eradicate the coldness of the water. After taking a bath, she exited the bathroom.

"Enjoying my life, Natasha? How could my mother thought I was you? Anyways, since I just need somebody to guard the house while I'm bathing, and now that I'm done, you may now get lost!" she shouted.

The latter felt mad. What is she talking about? She thought that they agreed to be friends earlier? And now what? She just agreed so can fool her and have someone to guard the house while she's taking a bath. No, Natasha can't agree with that.

"You can't tell me what to do! Since your mother thought I was you—" she then paused then get up from the bed. Typically, monsters were under the bed, but now everything's different. She walked near her. "Wait. I was really you. But maybe now I could be a completely different persona. Yeah, that's cool. But I don't to. I want your life," she said.

Natalia cannot believe her. What's with her life that this cold creature is desperate to steal it? But she cannot let her do that. She just can't let her take the life that she made for years. She would kill just to protect it.

"Know what? You could now die. If you were me, my mother would thought I was you, technically is he shows you love, that wasn't really for you. But before you die," she came closer. Then boom. She slapped Natasha hard in the face."

The latter felt the pain that Natalia gave. But she can't let her hurt her just as it can't let her steal her life. But Natasha mirrors who Natalia is, if Natalia fights, she fights. And she's stubborn too—could've been worse.

Natasha looked at Natalia. With burning eyes, they gave each other deadly stares.

"You know what? The two of us perhaps could feel the same way, looks the same way, and thinks the same way. We may be a lot similar, but trust me; I have something that you don't absolutely have."

"You have nothing!"

Natasha smirked and the latter was confused, until she spoke, "I have powers, Natalia. Do you have?" then her feet were suddenly off the ground. She's floating, she's floating! How could she do that? Natalia shook her head, this is just a nightmare.

"Look at me, Natalia!" Natasha shouted but the latter keeps on shaking head. Tweaking off her own hair, as if she's suffering. Natasha wants Natalia's attention, she want to show what she can do. And by that, Natalia's now floating in the air too. "Have you heard of levitation?"

"Bring me down! Bring me down, you devil! Bring me down!" Natalia screamed.

Natasha smirked. The latter feels a force pushing her down to floor. It was like the wind itself tried to kill Natalia. She felt pain as she hit the door. Then suddenly, Natasha also fell in the floor, but she had stand up quickly.

"Telekinesis, I hate it," Natalia said as she tried to stand up but she end up falling in the floor again—by force! Natasha truly has powers. "Argh! Stop!" when Natalia's whole body once again felt to floor, Natasha felt pain in her stomach—and in the chest, just as Natalia feel.

"Oh, you're hurt too," Natalia managed to say. She uses her full energy to get up, only just to sit since she cannot stand. "I know why, because you're a replica of mine. If I got hurt, you get hurt."

Natasha, who kneels in the floor, doesn't believe her. Rather, she just raises both of her hands and the latter was awed to see the pillows in her room float. Not just the pillows, all of the light things in her room floats, and then she covered herself when all of it rushed to hit her.

She screamed as she feels every material hit her body. And then she was surprised by the last thing that hit her, it's her phone. She quickly stands up then leaves the room so she can call her mother. But she's only feet apart when she felt a force pushing her, causing her to fall.

Then she heard something in her head. "You're not calling anybody, Natalia!" she caressed her forehead as she tries to reach the phone but she didn't. Because it floats, she stands up then and she saw it getting drop on the ground.

She turns her head to see Natasha being covered in dark aura. Her eyes are all black now. Then she heard something in her head again, "I just want your life. Why don't you just give it to me? You selfish stingy brat."

"Shut up!" she said then hurries down to the ground floor. There's only one thing that's running in her mind. She must kill her, but can she be killed. Reflection can only be gone if the real thing is gone, and she can't be gone. But she remembers; she doesn't feel her slap bounced back to her.

She can hurt Natasha, but Natasha cannot hurt her. She gets the knife in the kitchen.

"What are doing with that knife, Natalia?" she turns her back but she doesn't see anybody. Great, she has invisibility too? Now can she attack Natasha when she can't see her?

A memory then flashes back. Her father taught her how to use her instinct. Trained, she trusted herself that she can do it; she must do it so this monster could be gone. She closed her eyes, then she feels like somebody is about to get the knife from her, she quickly hit the air, turns out that she had hit Natasha.

She took out the knife from Natasha's cold body as black blood drops from it. Then she grabs her hair and she takes her to the living room. "You won't hurt me for you'll get hurt too. You know, it would be better if you came back to where you came from."

She pushed her towards the mirror, light reflects from the mirror when pushed her to it, but something else caught her attention. The knife slips from her hand as it hits the mirror, causing it to be partially broken as it lights fade, before Natasha fell on it that made it completely broken.

"The mirror's broken, Natalia," Natasha said as she stands up. Blood drops from her body on the ground caused by the mirror. The latter felt fear. "Now, you're frightened. You cannot find other ways to eradicate me now, unless you die."
