The New World

I woke up in a medical facility. I was still 14 and I was still alive. When I came too I was lying on a bed in an all white room. I was on a white bed and there was nobody around. All I could hear was a faint beeping and coughing every once in awhile. The room around me was almost empty except for a chair, a table on wheels and some weird machines with tubes that contained a clearish liquid. My body was sore and my limbs were tired I could hardly move. I looked down at my arm and saw some of those tubes going into my arm. I managed to flop my one of my arms over to the other and pull the tubes out of my arm and I attempted to sit up. A bunch of alarms began beeping all at the same time and 4 people with white masks and coats came running into the room. Two of them grabbed my arms and pushed me back down onto the bed while another shined a flashlight in my eyes and the 4th one grabbed an odd little box and began speaking to it. The 3 doctors around me began asking me questions and poking me with little needles.

"Wha- what, are you doing?" I asked in a tired, slurred voice.

"Do you know your name?" One of the people asked.

"Alex... Alexia Blackwood." Replied tiredly.

The doctors looked up at each other, but I couldn't tell their expressions because of their white masks.

"Do you know what year it is?" Another person asked.

"Uhh, 1945? Were in the middle of a battle... A big battle against... Against Germany." I answered.

"Um... No sweetie. It's 2117 that war ended already. That was almost 173 years ago.." One of the people said.

The three people all huddled together over by the fourth person. They were whispering back and forth with one another. One of the people set the little rounded box down on the table and they all left me in the room, alone. I sat there tiredly, trying to keep my eyes open, but I couldn't. I was just too exhausted, and I slowly fell asleep. When I woke up I was alone in the big room. I felt strong enough to leave now. I pushed myself  off the bed and walked to the door. I found myself in a long hallway, their were rooms and at the ends of the hallway there were big doors. I figured it must have been some sort of hospital. I walked down to the big doors at one end of the hallway, and pushed them open. A rush of air brushed passed me as I opened the door to a large… hallway, that was pretty much the same as the one I was just in. I ran to the doors at the end of this hallway and this time when I flung them open I entered a large living room type of area. It was oddly quiet and many people were wearing odd white masks that were covering their mouths. I walked up to a lady who was seated at a big desk.

"Excuse me ma'am, but where might I find the exit." I asked the lady.

"Um… I don't know…" she replied without looking at me. I walked to the next lady's desk.

"Excuse me Ma'am where might I find a way out?" I asked. This lady looked up at me and as she did she began to scream.

"Ma'am are you okay?" I asked. The closer I got to her the more she screamed.

So I just walked away. I wondered the area until I found two large metal doors, and I was able to exit the large building. A hot summer gust of wind blew past me. It was the same air that had blown past before I was frozen. I looked out at the large city and through the buildings I could see a giant metal fence with barbed wire. I started down the street in my blue hospital gown. The people of this time were odd. None of them were freaked out by my appearance. They either started oddly at me or asked me "where I got it done" to which I would respond "the Germans" and they people would walk away laughing. I continued wandering aimlessly through the sand covered streets. I stumbled upon a group of men who were attempting to load a big crate into a truck. I stopped to watch. There were five men but even together they were no match for the weight of the crate.

"Are you in need of some assistance?" I asked. One of the men turned to me and laughed.

"You? Lift this box? Yeah right!" he responded.

"If you wanna give it a shot kid go ahead." Another said.

I walked over to the large box, lifted it with one hand and placed in the truck. The men were speechless. I turned to walk away, but there was a crowd of people around me starring. I walked towards the people surrounding me, pushed past them and continued on my way. I was only able to get a few feet from the truck before a big black van pulled up next to me.
