Chapter 39

Rohan caressed her arm. "Sneha, as long as you are with me it's romantic." The boat chugs down the coastline separating from the scores of surfers and fishing boats.

"Mr. Nayar. Mr. NAYAR." The captain tapped Rohan on the shoulder. He woke up baffled at the sight of jungle with Sneha still dozing in his lap.

"We are at Rebak Island. Need to use bathroom. Be back two hour," the captain says in broken English. Rohan sleepily agrees. Sneha wakes up when Rohan removes the wet towel from her face. "Let me make you another ice pack."

"Where are we?" she asks as she looks around at the pristine waters.

"Rebak Island Our captain has decided he needs a two hour break," Rohan tells her.

"Well, since we're here why not explore a little?" she says with a sneaky smile. She stands up a little too quickly and loses her balance. Rohan catches her as she falls.

"I'm okay. Just need to go a little slower," she insists. Sneha asks Rohan to grab her tote bag and he carries her off of the boat.

"What is in this thing? It's pretty heavy for a vacation tote bag."

"I'm a woman and a doctor. That's all you need to know," Sneha replied.

He laughed and dropped the inquiry. When they reach the sand Sneha hopped out of his arms to feel the warm sand between her toes. She stretched out her arms to feel the wind wrap around her body and flow through her hair. She had not a care in the world right now. She felt so free. She was thinking of nothing and only feeling the sensation of nature. She hadn't felt like this since she was a child of six years old. Not since before her brother was born. The wind died down and she heard Rohan calling her. She smiled at the sound of his voice then bounded over to him on the sidewalk.

"He says there's a fantastic spa at the hotel where we can get a couple's massage."

Sneha laughs. "Isn't it the only spa on the island?"

"Probably but that doesn't mean we shouldn't try it."

"I'm not arguing against going at all," Sneha explains, "Just pointing out the obvious since it seemed you thought this man was trying to give you some insider information."

"No, I didn't think that. Okay, well maybe I thought that. But who cares," he snapped. "There's a spa, it's available, let's go." Rohan bowed and gestured for Sneha to lead the way to the hotel. She paused then flashed a sideways glance as she marched towards the hotel arms crossed. Rohan inhaled sharply then rushed to catch up to her. "Sneha. I shouldn't have done that. Just a little perturbed that you pointed that out."

"It's quite alright," she said. "Maybe I should have just let it go. We are on our honeymoon."

Rohan wrapped his arms around her shoulders and whispered, "And a wonderful honeymoon it's been."

Sneha could never stay mad at Rohan for long. The moment her eyes would even glance upon his hand it would remind her of this beautiful love between them. That love would bubble up inside of her heart and eventually drown out any contention. After their huge argument about Stella, he came to her parents' home that very night. Sneha was ready for another argument. Like a lawyer she had her verbal ammo and evidence lined up neatly in her head compartmentalized by date. She had rebuttals and scenes already scripted in her virtual notepad. She was as ready as a soldier for battle.
