(Daniel's P.O.V)
Levi and I were sitting on the porch. The street began to buzz with cars and busses. Levi didn't mind the noise though she was distracted by a bird. The bird was a blue jay that was nestled in a tree. The tree was an old oak tree across the street. She rested her head on my shoulder and sighed. "It's been so long Daniel", she sighed. I inhaled deeply and whispered ,"yeah it has". She looked up at me with her sparkling green eyes. She gave me a smile and I smiled at her." So how has life been in California?" She gave a shrug," boring without you". I felt my heartbeat get faster,"yeah same here". She snuggled closer to me and closes her eyes. I gave a shaky sigh and closed my eyes too. I actually felt a little content and happy for the first time in a while. The wind gentle blew her hair around and mine. I exhaled sharply and she shifted her head to get more comfortable. She deeply inhales and exhales slowly. "Daniel, do you love me?" My eyes opened up quickly and I looked at her." What do you mean?", I peeped. She smiled," as a friend silly!" "Oh, sorry I heard you wrong". She gave a slight giggle and closes her eyes again. "Do you love me more than a friend?" I gulped, " I-I don't know". she snuggled closer leaving no space between us. I felt a weird sensation in my stomach and I gave a shaky sigh. Levi looked up at me ," you alright?" I nodded," just a little tired", I lied. "If you love me as more than a friend just tell me". She traces her index finger on my leg as she spoke. I felt my face heat up ," yeah I know". She gave a big smile," you haven't changed a bit". "I could say the same to you", I joked. She playfully rolls her eyes and smirks. "Daniel, would you like to go to the pond?" I smiled and answered with a smirk,"sure." We both got up and walked to the back of the house. The woods seemed different in a way. The thickness of the air make me tense up. Levi grabbed my hand and pulls me into the woods. The canopy got thicker as we went further in the woods. Levi and I pulling and pushing ferns and branches back. The process was a workout but it was worth it. It was worth it to be with Levi and to spend time with her. She still had that same adventurous spirit. The same imagination that had no limits. If only I was carefree like her. She had such a cheerful soul unlike me. Who had my happiness taken away. She danced around her red hair flowing around her. She had on a white jacket on that flapped around her waist. Her red shirt underneath and black skinny jeans on. With her Dark brown boots stomping the ground. She was so free so child-like . She hummed a tone as she lead the way dancing around the logs and ferns. I did my best to catch up to her as she was going fast. After a while we landed in an clearing with the pond and where it's beauty was. The same pine tree was located next to the pond. She skipped to the tree and sat down. She patted the spot beside her. I quickly went to her and sat down. The water reflected the canopy of trees. The ripple of the water was soothing. Levi smiled,"it's been eight years last time I've been here". "It's still as beautiful as the last time". She gave a childish smile and inhaled deeply. She scooted close to me and put her head on my shoulder. "you are quite comfortable", she smiles at me. I gave a nervous laugh ,"yeah I guess". There was a period of silence between us. We were savoring the scenery around us. The cold wasn't even bothering us. We had the warmth of each other. I looked at the pond and Levi stood up. "Daniel, do you remember when you pushed me into the pond." I laughed and nodded,"yeah you were so mad". She laughs and gives another warming smile. I stood up and grabbed a twig form the ground. I threw it far into the pond and it made a big splash. Levi gave around of applause and laughed. "I could've done better than that", I stated. She shrugged," I don't throw sticks", she teased. I rolled my eyes and laughed,"whatever". The sun was peeping through the trees making the water sparkle. The pond to me was prettier when Levi was here. It was like she made my life better than anyone else. I heard a rustling noise and looked in the direction it came from. Levi looked at me," you seem jumpy". I gave a awkward smile,"yeah, I've been paranoid lately". Levi gave a slight chuckle and walked to me. "Is there something on your mind?", she smiles. "I have had a lot of anxiety lately", I sighed softly. She frowns at me and grabs my shoulder,"about what."" I've been feeling watched by someone or something. I know that sounds silly but I do." She gave a slight smirk," it was me." I rolled my eyes,"yeah sure.". She smiles and laughs hysterically ," come on enough of the nonsense." I smiled," yeah it's just in my head". She nods and grabs my hand,"I'll be here for you". I gave a smile," you couldn't protect me". She gives an evil glare," I'm stronger than you think". I raised my eyebrow," well then ms. stronger Levi, protect me from the monster in my room". She rolls her eyes," monsters aren't real unless you make one". I cocked my head,"that's a weird explanation". She shrugs," don't get me wrong, my words are true". She gave a serious look then smiled. I found that strange," she seemed to be a little different from eight years ago. Still it's been eight years, of course people change. I smiled back and inhaled the thick air that smelled of grass and water. "well we better go fight that monster in my room". She cocks her eyebrow," I don't think I'll have time. I have to go to my apartment and unpack". "I scratched my head," yeah, have a good time". She smiles," yeah, I'll try". We both headed out the woods and into my backyard. The sun was shining brightly in that beautiful clear blue sky. Levi shielded her eyes from the sun and looks at me. "Well, I'm gonna go now it's been fun". I smiled," yeah, see you around bestie". She gives me a hug and walks away . She gets in her truck and heads off . I gave a sigh and look into the trees. The weird sensation wasn't there at all. Probably cause I was to dazzled from Levi . I went inside and closed the door behind me. The air felt lighter as I walked through the house. I sat in my Dad's chair and kicked my feet on the table. I leaned back and my arms around the back of my neck. As I did I drifted off in a deep sleep.
