Wyvern's Nest

It was been an hour since we entered the forest looking for the wyverns but we found no luck about their whereabouts but it wasn't all that bad though. Thanks to Roe II, I just gained 10 levels in no time. On our way through the forest, she decided to do some "training exercises" as she quoted and formed a party with her being the leader. The monsters in the place are average monsters and their levels ranged from 18 to 32. Roe II being a summoner acted as a support while I played as the front. She claimed that me acting in the fronts will give me good experience about battling and will efficiently improve my skills. I had so much fun charging on monsters because I know Roe II was there for me ready to assist if something may happen. We also managed to find a magic type weapon for magicians. It was a level 25 magic ice staff called "Nifleim". Normal type weapons like my first ice staff don't have any additional status compared to magic type weapons. Magic weapons on the other hand are more powerful than normal types because it is imbued with additional basic enchantments. More of it, they are harder to be acquired because of its rarity over normal types. It was made clear to me that there are even powerful weapons than magic types and these are the rare types which are imbued with higher stats and lastly, the one which is known only to be acquired via secret quests are the legendary items. As far as Roe II knows, she hasn't yet to see a legendary item but for the rest, there were some who have acquired rare item class like the staff she is using and the staff of her original player, Shiroe; the founder of log horizon.

It was better than I expected it would be. My attacks were more efficient and effective and my damage transcended to a whole new level. Having a magic category weapon is no joke at all, how more if I let it enhanced by a smith. Fighting monsters were more exciting and rewarding than the task of looking for the wyverns. We have been looking for the nest for nearly an hour and still no stroke of luck however having this chance to fight high level monsters pumps me more.

The wind is getting stronger but we noticed something is weird about it. We halted on our way and observed our surroundings for trouble and there was it, the horror of luck plus trouble. It was a flock of wyverns all heading in the same direction. We followed the wyverns using the trees as cover as we run towards the denser part of the forest. Moment later after following the wyverns, we saw them entering a huge cave. It was a huge dungeon for wyverns covered by huge trees acting as camouflage. We would never think there was a place like this when we were still on the way looking in this direction. We approached the entrance with caution as we gaze on the marvelous sight we behold. There was a statue posing like he was holding something to be blown like a flute.

"Sister Roe, look at this statue. It's like something is missing from it. Don't you think?"

"Hmm. Probably, or it is really been designed that way. Let's get inside with caution. We don't want to reveal our presence with these numbers of wyverns" Roe II said.

"How about I'll serve as your eyes? I can easily slip through these monsters and try to find the safest way. How about it sister?" I asked.

"Are you sure? Once we'll be discovered, it means the end of us" Roe cleared out.

"I'm confident with my speed and skills, sister Roe. I'm going ahead" I said as I slip past through some little trees and rocks.

Inside the dungeon, it was as if we were playing hide and seek with the wyverns. It was good I am into sneaking and considering with my high AGI and DEX, it gave me hunter-like reflexes. I served as the eye of the party making observations like a ninja would do in movies and it made our sneaking progressive. It was our only choice to sneak bearing in mind the sheer number of the wyverns and their levels all in LVL 80. Once we would be discovered in the way, we will be slaughtered like mere ants. Inside the dungeon, the wyverns were quiet but I noticed as I am making observation, they were scattered all around except at the center of the place. I reported what I saw to Roe II about the thing I saw which looked like a nest and decided to get near to it.

There were shiny oval-shaped objects which seems to be the wyvern's eggs placed in the area but it surprised us it wasn't a wyvern that was sitting on the place. It was a level 70 Laomedian Serpent and it seems it was the root of the wyvern's agitated behaviour. We waited for several minutes how the serpent takes control of the wyverns and there it was. It devoured several eggs at a time which made the wyverns wail in chorus. Beside the nest were objects which seem to be from the villages that were pillaged and we deduced the wyverns were trying to feed the serpent with something instead of their eggs. I asked Roe II if there is something we can do to stop the serpent from making the wyverns agitated and thus we created a plan. It wasn't really a grand plan but it was our best bet to defeat the serpent and save the wyvern's nest. Then, it began our dangerous quest.

"Sister Roe, I'm going to back you up from behind. I'll serve as your healer. Please accept my party invitation so we can begin." I asked

"Alright, but be aware of your back. We don't know what those wyverns will do once they'll see the commotion. Let's start!" Roe II signaled.

Roe II summoned a high level monster and ordered to pull the serpent away from the nest. It was successful taking away the serpent away from the nest however the damage sustained were minimal. The monster has high amount of HP and we don't even know what it can do. Without sparing any second, Roe II ordered another attack and this time it was a brawl. Roe II's summoned monster crunches the Serpent as it is being coiled, both monsters losing a considerable amount of HP. However, Roe II's monster is losing its HP faster than the enemy. It was our disadvantage because I can't heal a summoned monster but rather only its caster. As the summoned monster disappeared, Roe II summoned another bird-like monster. It was the same monster I saw when we first met and it was a real beauty. While it is heading towards the serpent, the serpent was closing near the nest and there was no time. Roe II"s summoned monster will not make it on time.

"This is bad, any later will prove fatal to us. Once the serpent reaches the nest, more eggs might be destroyed. I need to distract the serpent." I thought.

I dashed on the serpent and gave my best hit just for it to be distracted. It was a surprising critical hit on its tail which successfully distracted the serpent making it look back and chase me. I ran away running towards Roe II's direction and thankfully she was already ready. I tried to look back to see the serpent chasing me, Roe II's monster delivered an attack straight on the serpent's face. This time, the serpent was no match against the flying foe, and just as Roe II continuously savage the monster, I made a turn back and stationed myself behind the serpent. I might be a low-level player but my incredible stats are no joke. Looking the serpent helpless, I also attacked from behind delivering many critical blows and it seemed the serpent's HP is dropping fast with both of our attacks. I never intended to just sit back and do nothing as my party member is doing everything she can. As much as I wanted, I'll choose to get in danger than being bored in a corner and that was what I am doing. Catching a glance of something at the sidelines, I noticed the wyverns have encircled the battleground but they were not doing something. It was as if they were waiting us to defeat the serpent. On the side of the screen, I can see Roe II's MP is almost depleted and on the serpent's HP gauge, it was the same. It was Roe II's last attack and there was still HP remaining in the serpent's gauge. As I dashed and jumped above the serpent, I saw Roe II smiling and shouted, "It's all yours". I posed my best position in the air with my staff pointing at the serpent's head, and as I descend towards it, stabbed the head and it burst disappearing with the sound of shrieking echoed all over the place. Gold, potions and items fell on the floor after that I thought that was the best ever yet I have experienced. I gained another 15 levels from the fight and I got now 8 skills activated in my skills menu; 4 from my attack skills and another 4 from my buff skills. We shared the gold a thousand each and checked the items which was usable. Roe II showed me a something like a gem and it was on the description that was only specific for Brekenspear class. It was a + 30% critical chance socket gem for Brekenspear's weapon and armor of level 60. Just as we were done picking the loot, the wyverns were approaching the nest and flocks of them are flooding the area. In a hurry, we ran towards the exit of the dungeon. At the exit, we noticed the statue and there was something new to it. On its hand, there was a flute with a wyvern's head on its end with two holes in it. I took the flute and examined. "Wyvern's whistle" it says on the description panel and it can summon two wyverns at once.

"Sister Roe, can I have this?" I asked.

"You deserve it. On the other hand, I can summon monsters anyway so I don't have any use of that" she responded as she gave me a smile.

"Alright then, let's see what this whistle can do." I blow the whistle and two wyverns were rushing towards us. We rode their backs and we continue our way to our next destination.
