Chapter 1227: Living

Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios

Meng Tian paid out some time from the wristband in exchange for a large amount of supplies from the black man, which the team urgently needed.

It was just that, for some reason, on the black man's wrist… there was no wristband.

He had come to planet Oracle willingly and had already been here for a long time. Every year, there would be people sent here. There were convicts on death row, people from the Underworld, even adventurers, and let's not forget those disciples in training from various ancient martial arts worlds. There were all kinds of reasons, but they all had a common point: they were strong. Of course, those who wore the timed wristbands were forced to be here, and they were more tragic.

The "time" on the wristband that was counting down, which Meng Tian and the others needed to extend, was also useful for them. It was like a currency, in fact, where it could be used for various kinds of transactions.

In reality, aside from the wristband, these "volunteers" were not much different. They did not have any obvious privileges aside from the fact that they had a clearer goal and were much more prepared.

The level of Saint World was popular in the Underworld. Once discovered as suitable, they would be lured here using any means. Some people had indeed stayed for a long time already as the Saint could fulfil all their needs and goals. But what did the Saint want exactly?

This was something no one knew.

As for the ancient martial arts disciples that the Saint stated, they were entirely willing to train here. This group of people was strong, and at the same time, they had a lot of freedom and were also the group that nobody was willing to provoke. Naturally, they also had their own rules and would not interfere with the other groups.

When the intruders were "banished" into the Island of Death, a heated conflict with the volunteers exploded almost immediately.

The intruders that were forced here wanted to use such a method of intense destruction to drive out the mastermind behind this entirety.

The entire process was very intense and a number of people had passed away, but there was still no movement from the mysterious organization. They seemed to be satisfied that such an intense situation had occurred.

When both had suffered heavy losses in manpower, the full-force conflict ended. However, the hatred had already been formed and there was no way to completely return order. The civil wars still continued, but it was just that everyone was scattered and they fought from their own small teams.

There were people who proposed to congregate all their strength together, but there had been no results!

Meng Tian and the others, who were exiled, did not manage to unite here, as the fleet's internal division also had their differences. Ultimately, Meng Tian became a leader of strength, and amongst those who followed her, most were young warriors from the Milky Way Galaxy Military College. However, she did not have much strength, she was just reluctantly surviving.

"Go."

Meng Tian meticulously counted the supplies, and after making sure that there were no mistakes, she then made the secret gestures at Yuan Jing and Mengha, who were leading a group in the dark and in the open respectively. The two of them thus brought their men over, and the black man made the same move as well, right before leaving the scene rapidly.

Meng Tian, who was carrying the supplies and about to leave, abruptly stopped!

"What's wrong?"

Mengha and Yuan Jing reacted immediately.

"Nothing. Let's go, and let's be more careful."

Meng Tian glossed over her surroundings. There seemed to be nothing unusual…

However, regardless of the situation, they could not be too careless. After the first meeting failed, they had completely sunk into a situation where they had to fight for themselves. Maybe everyone had previously belonged to the same college, the same fleet, but now, there were only two kinds of relationships.

The first kind, teammates.

Everyone else, they were all competitors.

To put it simply, as long as they were not of the same team, anyone could be your enemy, even the person you had sworn a pact with would not be reliable. There was no clear boundary with the opponent.

The whole situation was a mess. The reason why Meng Tian was the leader of the team was not because her capabilities were the strongest, but because she was the one everyone trusted the most.

"Meng Tian?"

Having just returned to the small building that the team currently occupied, a slim figure flashed past from behind the walls, calling out Meng Tian's name.

Those eyes that were limitless like an ice abyss gave people an uncomfortable feeling.

Meng Tian's vision slightly flashed. It was strange, the person was obviously right in front of her eyes, yet there was a feeling of non-existence.

"You are… Xie Yu Xin?" A pleasantly surprised smile was revealed across Meng Tian's icy cold face.

Xie Yu Xin lightly smiled. "My unfamiliar old classmate, good to see you again."

A simple meeting room was created with a long dining table and a few chairs of different designs. Meng Tian sat at the head seat, and following that were Mengha and Yuan Jing, according to their capabilities. Mengha was an Earth-rank one warrior, and he was the core strength of the team. Yuan Jing had also already stepped up to Earth-rank, but his condition was not very stable. This had something to do with his personality, but when he became serious, Meng Tian's team would have double Earth-rank strength. Coupled with Meng Tian's frost Ability X, they could easily settle the numerous troublesome missions that came about.

With regards to the sudden appearance of Xie Yu Xin, the team had a conflict of opinions internally.

"This person seems a bit strange. He has a really powerful spiritual power."

Yuan Jing wrinkled his brows. When Xie Yu Xin had come, he had tried to use his Ability X to lock on to Xie Yu Xin, but the result was unsettling. It felt as if punching into thin air – there was an empty feeling like his tensed consciousness had suddenly fallen off of a cliff.

"But, his proposal to work together… I don't agree with it," Mengha stated with much obscurity. Facing a situation of life and death, especially in chaos, they had already experienced much betrayal. Would this person, an unfamiliar schoolmate who had suddenly appeared, be reliable?

What was more was that it was in their university days and the other party had transferred to another school quite quickly. Who would know what he had been doing over so many years? Moreover, he had appeared here, somewhere that normal people would not appear at.

From what he could see, Xie Yu Xin was either hiding something or pretending to be someone he wasn't. However, he had no evidence. That Xie Yu Xin had self-declared that he had no team and was always alone.

Was that possible?

This was a world of death!

Travelling solo?

No matter what, he did not seem like he had the qualifications to!

Tearing up at the sight of an old friend?

This was not a good enough description for Meng Tian's current feelings. This was truly a sliver of hope in this unending darkness.

"How did you end up here? This is simply…" Meng Tian had slightly lost her demeanour. It was not just because she had seen Xie Yu Xin, but also because she had thought of Wang Zheng.

Xie Yu Xin, on the other hand, was very calm. He smiled slightly. "I did not expect to run into you either. I had to follow you for aw hile before I could confirm that it was you. It has really been a long."

"Yes. I remember you went to Aslan, and after that, there was no more contact."

Xie Yu Xin nodded his head. "That's right, I went to Elite Academy X, the same school as Wang Zheng. That fellow is now doing very well, but we can talk more about this later. I was also accidentally sent here. Elite Academy X has been researching the Saint World, and I was one of the participants. Actually, the Milky Way Alliance also wanted to focus on this, but they had no leads."

"I'm afraid that there might have been disruptions from the internal division as well"

Xie Yu Xin lightly smiled. "This is just an old habit of humans, nothing new about that. I incidentally received an invitation, so I came in slightly earlier than you all. Truthfully, when I came in at first, I also had a shock. I did not expect there to be such a tremendous organisation within the Milky Way Alliance."

"What do they really want? To put in so much effort, it could not just be to make us improve. If it's about training soldiers of the dead, this method would not work either," Meng Tian mentioned.

Xie Yu Xin nodded. "I have already heard of your situation. Owning such skills and strength, you probably would not be concerned over this. This world seems to have already existed for a long time. This should be their base for experimentation. They are doing some sort of experiment, and although I'm not sure what, they have a huge purpose."

"What we need to do now is leave here. Do you have any ways?" Meng Tian asked. Her team's condition was not at its best.

Xie Yu Xin gave a slight smile. "The way to leave is clear, and it is not really much of a big secret, but with our current capabilities, it is practically impossible. All we can do now is stay alive!"

Xie Yu Xin stretched out his elbow. On it, there was a mark, but the wristband had already been removed.

Chapter 1228: It's Not Easy Being A Black Horse

Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios

Wang Zheng was still in coma. Ai Xiaolu and the others could only visit him at the visiting hours, but they had managed to receive good news. All three of their lives were not in critical danger. As Zhang Shan's injury was the most severe, it was definite that he would have to scrap the idea of SIG. It would be a long period of recovery, but luckily, this place had the best medical treatment conditions in the Milky Way Alliance.

Wang Zheng and Achilles' situations were slightly better. It was still unknown if Achilles would be able to make it for the later battles, but there had been a change in Wang Zheng's condition. The injuries on his body were not all there was – his brain waves were lost.

Which, in context, meant that he was in vegetative state.

Technology had, of course, advanced to another level of research. Wang Zheng's consciousness was extremely weak, but due to his physical injuries, nobody dared to use overly aggressive treatment tactics. They could only wait until his external injuries had recovered before they could proceed with treatment.

Was the situation serious?

To the doctors, it did not seem so. In a battle of that level, it was already a miracle to survive. As for wanting to continue battling, that would simply be unrealistic.

The final top four battle had already started. Originally thought to be the battle with the greatest disparity, the result was outside of expectations.

The Harbinger battle team, led by Tan Zheng, fought with terrifying strength. It could be said that the whole world was taken aback in shock. Aside from Tan Zheng having Earth-rank two ability, his physical techniques took away everyone's breath, allowing him to gain a solid victory against the mighty Atlantis, allowing the battle to continue into the team battle round.

Of course, this was also because the Atlantean prince did not make his move, while Tan Zheng chose to be the first to enter battle.

Team battles were the Harbinger battle team's specialty. Their terrifying Five Elements Resonation helped them charge straight into the top eight. Now that they were up against Atlantis, they hoped to create a miracle.

Perhaps they had been triggered by Saruman Snake as they also wanted to counterattack. Every warrior maintained enormous battle strength and will; their battle skills were very suitable as well. The two failed battles had been strategically given up as they had placed their hopes entirely on the last team battle.

Hope was beautiful; however, reality was cruel.

Up against an extremely dangerous team battle, Dina Atlas had still not appeared on stage, and the Atlanteans displayed skills that made people's hair stand.

The five warriors that entered battle had spiritual power, by human standards, above B level. And against the opponent's Five Elements Resonation, the Atlanteans fully utilized a storm of team spirit, directly crushing their opponents.

In terms of spiritual power techniques, the Atlanteans were unmatched. Regardless of strength or details, the difference was too huge.

Tan Zheng persisted until the end, but he was unable to resist against the Sea Queen battle team's formidable offense. Against a series of continuous Runic Matrixes, from one to five, it exhausted an Earth-rank super warrior into complete despair.

As their spirits were aligned, the Sea Queen battle team's team battle was even more terrifying. Their seamlessly connected, earth-shattering attacks made the humans instantaneously breakdown.

Until the top four battles, the Sea Queen battle team was the only team where the leader still sat stably in his seat.

The Harbinger battle team was definitely strong. They were not below the Dynasty battle team, but their luck was just slightly off. This only magnified the Sea Queen battle team's fearsomeness.

The top four had emerged.

Saruman Snake battle team, Sword Shield Rose battle team, Sea Queen battle team, Dynasty battle team.

Amongst the four major battle teams, the Saruman Snake battle team's popularity unexpectedly oppressed that of the other three teams. For a long time until now, Aslan and Atlantis had always been the forerunners in terms of popularity, and even if there was any fluctuations, there was never such a large disparity.

Based on the investigations of various colleges, the Saruman Snake battle team ranked highest as people's choice of the strongest team, with a total of 86% of support.

Moving forward was the ten days of break, and the arena would be rearranged. It was said that Aslan would be using a new material for the semi-finals' arena… space material, to erase the humiliation of the "tofu dregs" arena.

Actually, the designers could not be blamed, as the design was of standard, even above the average Milky Way Alliance standard, but who would have expected for them to meet such a monster?

However, what everyone was most concerned about was whether Saruman Snake could continue to battle.

Would they still be able to fight when their three main strengths were heavily injured, and they did not have enough people?

To have the SIG held here to this point was already a considerable success as Aslan had received positive feedback from various nations. Especially in the hearts of the youth, Aslan's position as the most outstanding nation had further been strengthened, and there had been an increase of over 20% of people coming forward to understand more on the migration to study over the Skylink. However, Kashawen could not be elated.

The analysis provided by the technical department mentioned that if Wang Zheng could not battle, the actual results would be discounted by much as the public's expectancy would be halved.

Kashawen herself laughed as well. It was simply nonsensical!

Just one person could affect the entire SIG?

"Your Excellency, the semi-finals' ticket sales are not doing very well… It's not as good as before." Mitchell deliberated over what words to use. Being conducted with such a high following, the SIG was already a grand festival; it could even be considered an annual symbol of Aslan and the Milky Way Alliance. It would be conflicting if they ended not as great as the beginning.

"What is the advertising team doing? All the public needs is a topic to talk about. If the internal division cannot do it, then the external division will. Do you need me to teach you something so simple?"

Mitchell nodded and said, "Yes, Your Excellency." He was also having a headache. In the past, there would certainly many methods, but the problem now was that these were all aimed towards Wang Zheng. Everyone wanted to witness it, regardless of whether he won or lost, but the current Wang Zheng was partially paralysed, while the Sea Queen battle team and the Sword Shield Rose battle team's advantage was too great. How could the ticket sales increase?

Other methods?

Mitchell was only thinking of it, but he did not dare to even mention it. He knew in her heart that this was a prohibited topic and unless Kashawen herself mentioned, nobody could cross that line.

Si Jiali was stunned as well. The column she had done on the SIG demonstrated an explosive trend. The issue that everyone was most concerned about was the semi-finals, whether Saruman Snake could still fight and whether Wang Zheng could be in battle!

Actually, everyone knew that Saruman Snake would definitely lose this battle, but nobody cared about the results. They only wanted to see where Saruman Snake stood.

In this world, under normal circumstances, from Wang Zheng to everyone in Saruman Snake, everyone only cared about the results. However, Wang Zheng and his Saruman Snake had changed.

What everyone hoped to see on the battleground was that kind of battling desire and persistence.

Si Jiali found Ai Xiaolu, the Saruman Snake's leader. The two were not familiar but both knew that once they reach a certain level, the social circle would only be so big. After expressing her intentions, Ai Xiaolu accepted the interview.

" Xiao Lu comrade, as of now, Saruman Snake's supporters from various countries really want to know about the current situation, especially about whether Saruman Snake will be battling with the Sea Queen battle team in the semi-finals," Si Jiali inquired.

Ai Xiaolu nodded. "Much thanks to everyone's support for the Saruman Snake battle team. The following are our captain's original words: he and the Saruman Snake battle team will definitely enter battle, and Saruman Snake will definitely stand on the finals' battle arena!"

Si Jiali was slightly dazed. These types of words were usually polite comments, but at this time, there seemed to be little persuasiveness.

Chapter 1229: Sleeping Together Finally

"Ahem, comrade Xiao Lu, I heard that Wang Zheng's injuries are very serious, and that Saruman Snake's battle formation is in a mess…" Si Jiali trailed off. This did not seem like the time to mention topics such as winning Sea Queen. A slight err might incur some negative reactions, and it was simply too frivolous.

Their popularity was influenced by their perseverance and encouragement. It did not represent their abilities. Even at the peak of their condition, Saruman Snake and Sea Queen's winning chances would be quite even.

They were already starting on the losing end.

Ai Xiaolu slightly smiled. "Our captain has spoken, he will lead us to victory. I believe him, no matter when that would be. Do you?"

Si Jiali could not refuse the statement. Such a provocative propaganda was obviously of no use. The people of Aslan were never superstitious. They emphasized on objective statistics, but this would not hinder her from writing in this part of the interview. At the very least, it represented Saruman Snake's current will to battle, that they had not given up.

Polar opposite reactions from both ends came immediately when the interview was released. Those who supported it, like those "extremists" who took the Earth as their core, were largely encouraged. These people unconditionally believed Wang Zheng's words, similar to the Saruman Snake battle team's members. After the battle had ended, Saruman Snake's Lie Xin, Mu Zhen, and others entered battle preparation mode to ready themselves for when they went up against the Sea Queen battle team. It was apparent that they trusted that Wang Zheng would recover.

However, there were more of those who were against them. A strong will deserved to be praised and supported, but it was foolish to not know one's limits. The entire cosmos would be overturned if they were to win.

The voices of protests and arguments stirred up.

The news of the recovery was released well on time. Wang Zheng had left the recovery chamber after only two days. The doctors were amazed at the speed of his monster-like recovery.

This was good news. The only issue was that there weren't any signs of him waking up.

Ai Xiaolu might have stimulated the market, but there was no use. The first battle between Sword Shield Rose and the Dynasty battle team went well. The semi-finals, however, were a headache.

The competition committee didn't cancel their appearance. Saruman Snake could still send three people. The score would be three to zero anyway, but who would want to watch such a match?

Of course, they wouldn't cancel such a lucrative match. It would be nothing but trouble if they were to cancel it.

Wang Zheng didn't know about the things happening outside. His days didn't go well either.

Runic Matrixes were broken one after another, tiring Wang Zheng out severely.

"Charcoal, what the hell is this? This Runic Matrix is too slow. I would be defeated if I were to use my shortcomings against the enemy's strengths!"

Wang Zheng was depressed. He could indeed use the Runic Matrix under Charcoal's guidance, but the effect was extremely poor. He would definitely be beaten if this kept up.

"The Runic Matrix technique is really good actually. It could be used as a transition under the current cosmic energy. It's a good route to heaven," Charcoal explained.

"Please don't tell me all this useless stuff about the route to heaven. I'm going straight to hell now. I might as well use my spiritual power."

"The spiritual power of humans is still restricted. The Runic Matrix is a better way. In simple terms, this way you will be able to obtain more power and use it more flexibly. You've seen the power of the Atlanteans. You would lose without a doubt given the current condition of your body," Charcoal explained patiently.

Wang Zheng sprawled on the ground. He was always the most determined outside, but in here, there were times when he just wanted to lay down and rest. The Rubik's Cube might have given him more time, but this was too f*cking hard. It was a completely new thing. F*cking Runic Matrixes. He spent so much time but had only a preliminary understanding of it. The Atlanteans had spent hundreds of years on it, how was he to fight them on it!

He wouldn't be able to go up against the Atlanteans from the way he currently handled the mech. They had to use the runic mecha, perhaps one against five?

Five with level B and above Ability X – Charcoal had helped understand through that battle. Their gap was larger than he thought. The effect of their teamwork and tacit understanding were larger than the sum of the parts.

Wang Zheng wasn't giving up, but he did want to rest for a while.

Wang Zheng was also lying motionlessly in the special care ward of Aslan.

The door creaked open and Aina entered. Lacus closed the door quietly and stood by it.

She didn't want Her Highness to be at such a sensitive place at such a sensitive time, but she could understand that Aina was at her wit's end after holding out for the past two days. Aina couldn't even sleep.

The frame of her eyes turned red as her gaze laid upon the serene Wang Zheng. She didn't let her tears fall though.

She wanted to give Wang Zheng a smile. She sat by the bedside and caressed Wang Zheng's cheek gently. His wounds had almost healed. These were nothing actually. It was just that the vital energy lost would not be something that could regenerate in a short period of time. She didn't think because she didn't know what would happen in the future. She only knew that she would be with Wang Zheng no matter where they went.

Lacus sighed and walked out, giving them some personal space.

The attending physician had given his report. Wang Zheng could definitely be able to fight after ten days, but the problem was that his right hand had barely healed. It was impossible for him to withstand any heavy blows. He could enter the arena, but just for show.

Lacus knew about the agreement, but was there any use to it? They were dealing with the great Kashawen after all.

Honestly, she was also affected when Wang Zheng won against Aragorn. She thought there was a chance for him to take the championship. However, that was just a fleeting dream, meant to be crushed by cruel reality.

She secretly admired the Princess and Wang Zheng. Anyone else would have given up after so much, but not them.

Everyone in the world was against them, but they were insistent.

Aina looked at Wang Zheng with unwavering eyes and gave him a soft kiss. Time stopped at that moment.

Wang Zheng didn't wake up, but he could feel everything happening outside. He sat on the floor quietly.

Aina didn't leave. She fell asleep holding on to Wang Zheng's hand. This was her home, her safe haven.

Lacus came back anxiously because Aina was taking too long. She nearly flipped on the spot when she saw her Highness and Wang Zheng "sleeping together". Nonetheless, she decided to return to her post outside when she saw the sweet smile on Aina's face.

Wang Zheng stood up unhurriedly in the Rubik's Cube. "Come on, Charcoal!"

Chapter 1230: The Awakening

Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios

Wang Zheng was in the "coma" for the entire week. It was torment for a good number of people. The good news was that Wang Zheng's body had recovered at an alarming rate, which shocked even the doctors. The Aslan doctor was not ignorant; he had seen many warriors who possessed astounding recovery rates, usually as a result of bioengineering. However, none of them were as fast as Wang Zheng. It was rather strange as well. It seemed as though his body generated a strong internal restoration force with a superb absorption of nutrients. His body had absorbed more than five times the usual amount of nutrients that an injured person would absorb. Generally, the injured would have a slower absorption rate than that of a healthy person, but it was the opposite for his case. His body seemed as though it understood the situation he was in and was repairing itself with scary efficiency.

Wang Zheng needed only to open his eyes and ready his mind when he woke up.

Wang Zheng got up slowly. His attending physician, George Brownie, was so shocked that he couldn't speak at first. He managed to speak only when Wang Zheng was trying to get out of bed. "Wang Zheng, we need to do an overall check up on you. Please don't move."

Wang Zheng smiled. "Doctor, I'm fine."

"That's for me to decide. A check up is necessary. I understand how you feel, but I have my responsibility as well. You should understand, more haste less speed," George Brownie said.

Wang Zheng could only nod helplessly. George Brownie immediately conducted his check up excitedly. This was a fairly comprehensive checkup which included a basic strength test for Wang Zheng's broken arm. The recovery of the arm was shocking. George Brownie was very clear that any bodily repair would be as fragile as porcelain. However, Wang Zheng didn't seem to notice that.

The nutrient solution in the petri dish he used was simply… indescribable. It seemed to be excreted after it was absorbed. The taste was horrible, but the absorption was scary. Luckily, the Prime Minister was there as well and provided them with the best. Honestly, in normal circumstances, he could be cured as long as he didn't die. The only thing was that to resume fighting in such a short period of time was no longer the problem of the doctors.

Wang Zheng frowned slightly when the needle was stuck into his veins. He had not felt pain for such a long time and wasn't used to it. Excitement followed after nonetheless.

He knew many people were waiting for him. His brothers and his enemies. He was looking forward to both.

A short seven days was indeed a long period to Wang Zheng.

He was out.

George Brownie was amazed at the data. Wang Zheng didn't want to stay in the ward for too long, sd he didn't like it in there.

"Doctor, can I be discharged?"

"Erm, there's no problem, but, Wang Zheng, do you want to do further…"

"Doctor, goodbye," Wang Zheng said with a smile.

This doctor was looking at him as though he was a lab rat. Wang Zheng didn't have any interest in being dissected.

Charcoal had dragged his spirit into the Rubik's Cube to let his body repair at the fastest possible speed. Now there was a need to familiarize himself with the changes in his body.

George Brownie couldn't stop him, so he got the nurse to help Wang Zheng with his discharge. He started his Skylink immediately after Wang Zheng left. It was connected in no time. Doctor George's expression turned solemn.

Kashawen's image appeared.

"Has he recovered?"

"Yes, Prime Minister. His recovery is almost 100%, it's a miracle. Not one super warrior I've handled could rival him," George Brownie said respectfully.

"Did you find anything out of the ordinary?" Kashawen asked.

"We didn't find anything abnormal in his cells, genes, or brain. However, his life force is unusually strong. I think that this should be a sign that the branding on his life is more outstanding. However, this is just my preliminary findings."

Kashawen nodded, a little disappointed. She had always felt that there was something wrong with Wang Zheng. His strength was abnormal. He didn't have the support of any country, but he could become someone so alarming. She wanted to find the reason for it, though, unfortunately, she didn't manage to.

The Branding on Life, eh. Kashawen wasn't interested in something akin to a soul. She wanted data on the source of his strength.

Almost recovered must mean that there was some place still not right with him. That was fine too. The best way to destroy someone was to give him hope and then extinguish it.

The news of Wang Zheng's discharge spread like wildfire throughout the whole SIG. There was still four days till the big match. Did that mean Wang Zheng would be able to participate in the semi-finals?

Wang Zheng was at Zhang Shan's. Zhang Shan was still in the capsule. He would need to be in there for an extended period of time since his injuries were more serious. Also, his absorption was not as good as Wang Zheng's. Wang Zheng spoke to the doctors. They were optimistic about Zhang Shan's condition, but it wasn't the time to wake Zhang Shan up. It would be best to let him recover in his current state.

Achilles was in a much better situation. He was reading a book when Wang Zheng came. The Sun God was always so elegant. The nurses were delighted to take care of him.

Achilles put down his book and gave Wang Zheng a huge beam when he came.

"Looks like you're doing fine. Can I expect you to be on the semi-finals?" Achilles asked.

Wang Zheng nodded. "We need your power if we want to defeat Aslan. We have not officially cooperated in the truest sense of the word."

"Haha, I'm looking forward to it, but how do you plan on dealing with Atlantis? Their spiritual powers are C Level and above and their teamwork is basically seamless. I suspect that Dina Atlas' spiritual power might be above B level now."

What Achilles meant was they would need a similar strength to deal with them. The Atlanteans had always been in control of their strengths.

Wang Zheng smiled. "I don't have absolute confidence, but haven't we been like this throughout the whole journey?"

"That's true. I'll be a good spectator, all the best!"

Achilles grinned and both of them broke into laughter. This was friendship and trust!

Achilles shook his head helplessly as he watched Wang Zheng leave. Only Wang Zheng would continue to be so determined in such a situation. Nonetheless, Achilles wasn't lying when he said he was looking forward to it.

"Achilles, was that Wang Zheng?" a cute nurse asked with a face full of disbelief.

"Yes, why? Doesn't he look like him?" Achilles couldn't help but laugh.

"Everyone said that he is the Great Demon with a strong, murderous intent. That guy just now looked very mild though."

"Great Demon King? That guy is indeed a demon at times," Achilles replied with a laugh.

Wang Zheng had returned!

Chapter 1231: The Way To Defeat Sea Queen

Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios

Lie Xin, Mu Zhen, and the rest of the core members of Saruman Snake rushed out when they heard Wang Zheng entering.

They hadn't slacked over the past few days — they had been studying the videos of Atlantis' battles while pondering over their strategy. They were finally relieved upon seeing Wang Zheng return.

"Yo, you seem to be fair. Tsktsk, your recovery ain't bad," Ai Xiaolu ridiculed.

"It's alright, I got all my limbs working at last. Xiaolu, we have to start the closed door training and make the final spurt for the battle against the Sea Queen battle team!" Wang Zheng said.

"Alright, that's what we were waiting for!" Ai Xiaolu replied enthusiastically.

The Saruman Snake battle team entered their closed door training, completely isolating themselves from the world outside. It seemed as though… they weren't prepared to give up.

There were only four able warriors left in Saruman Snake — Wang Zheng, Mu Zhen, Lie Xin, and Snow Li. The only way to win was to get a three to zero score.

However, that was impossible. This battle would be infinitely more difficult than the battle with the Soulless battle team. On the one hand, the Sea Queen battle team was stronger than the Soulless battle team. On the other, the Sea Queen battle team wasn't the type that would give the Saruman Snake battle team any chance. They were more nimble and flexible in their approaches. Moreover, the Sea Queen battle team wouldn't make the same mistakes.

There was only one certainty: the Saruman Snake battle team would give their best fight in them, no matter the outcome. They didn't know the meaning of giving up.

Wang Zheng's "revival" reignited everyone's passion. Doubts dissipated and tickets to the semi-finals were selling like hotcakes. The price increased ten times for normal tickets, and seats with better views increased more than fifty times on the Skylink. This was an excitement like never before.

The happenings between Wang Zheng and the Atlanteans were made into special reports on the SIG official website as well.

Wang Zheng was the one who could best utilize the Phantom King from the humans' military schools. His ability was even higher than that of the Atlanteans, which put the Atlanteans to shame. The Atlanteans had to take back the title of the Greatest King from Wang Zheng.

The usually invincible Atlantis Team finally fell from their throne in front of Wang Zheng's Phantom King in that fateful IG. That video had been officially released for the first time ever. The magical control of the Phantom King, granting the opponents instant kill. That made the Atlanteans admit defeat.

Fate liked to play with people. It was the semi-finals against the Atlanteans again. Would Wang Zheng advance, or fall this time?

The Atlanteans, who had never cared much for winning or losing, were paying great attention to this match. This was unprecedented. Everyone knew that the Atlanteans always did their best but maintained a low profile. They didn't need the championship.

However, Wang Zheng roused this feeling out of them. The Atlanteans did not make a come back during the Greatest King. What would be the attitude of Sea Queen battle team led by Prince Dina Atlas now?

Si Jiali interviewed Prince Dina on this. He didn't reject it.

"Prince Atlas, the fateful battle between the Sea Queen battle team and the Saruman Snake battle team is one of the most anticipated battles currently. How do you feel about it?" Si Jiali's question was slightly offensive.

Dina Atlas smiled. "It is indeed a fateful battle. The Sea Queen battle team has been preparing for it. In fact, one of the main reasons we are participating in the SIG is to battle Wang Zheng."

Si Jiali was very surprised. The comments on the live interview exploded. Sea Queen had come for Wang Zheng?

"We didn't expect that. Does that mean the biggest rival to you is the Saruman Snake battle team?"

"Yes, the Saruman Snake battle team is the strongest team in the current SIG. The Sea Queen battle team will do our best in the battle in three days to obtain victory and glory!" Dina Atlas replied seriously.

Si Jiali's mouth fell wide open, and she stared at Dina Atlas for quite some time before assuring herself that he wasn't joking. "Your Highness Atlas, you probably know that the current situation of the Saruman Snake battle team is pretty bad. Aren't they vulnerable now?"

Prince Atlas shook his head slightly. "The soul of the Saruman Snake battle team is there as long as Wang Zheng is there. He is the most classic representative of human warriors. That is why the Milky Way Alliance is being led by humans even until now. There are many excellent qualities worthy for us to learn from. I respect my opponent. Our Sea Queen battle team is ready. I hope the Sea Queen battle team can win back the glory of the Atlanteans under my lead!"

Si Jiali nodded. "Thank you, Your Highness Atlas. I believe everyone is very sure about the attitude of the Sea Queen battle team in the coming battle. The Saruman Snake battle team has run out of luck. We can only hope that Wang Zheng will show us a miraculous performance."

Everyone who saw the interview had a great impression of the Atlanteans. They were respectful even to such a "crippled" team. That only proved that the Atlanteans were outstanding. Actually, the results didn't matter anymore. His Highness was just being polite. They had shown sufficient strength to win. A small Saruman Snake wouldn't be able to stop that.

The semi-finals was a solemn one, but everyone had some hope in their hearts. It was impossible to put this unrealistic expectation into words.

This teeny bit of possibility turned the second match of the semi-finals popular.

Lear sneered and turned off the Skylink. "Boss, Wang Zheng is just struggling. There is no need to think too much about it. What about our battle?" Luo Fei asked.

Lear glanced coldly at Luo Fei. "Do you not understand Wang Zheng even now? He is undergoing closed door training now. Do you think that's a bluff?"

"Ahem, ahem, well, he should be thinking of a counter strategy, but the Runic Matrixes of the Atlanteans are god-like. They're impossible to break. Moreover, they're now crippled. I don't think they have any way to win." Luo Fei shrugged. He wasn't trying to comfort Lear, he was just expressing the truth. Even those who were supporting them were only encouraging them. The results of this semi-finals were cast in stone before they started. They only hope that Saruman Snake could finish with glory.

Lear sneered once again. "None of you understand Wang Zheng!"

The person who best understood Wang Zheng was definitely Lear. He knew what Wang Zheng was thinking with every move he made. Lear had a million reasons why he believed that Wang Zheng had found a way to break through the Runic Matrix. If not, Wang Zheng would never do something so pointless as to do closed door training.

Dammit, how could he have found the method to counter it? It was going to be the first public display of the Runic Matrix. He probably hadn't just found the method to counter it, but to recast it.

Lear was going crazy. Reason told him that it wasn't that easy to break. The so-called flaws were relative. The Atlanteans had been using it all these years, it wouldn't be that easy to deal with them. However, this was Wang Zheng he was talking about, this person… Dammit. He could always find a way, just like a ghost.

What was the way to counter it?

Lear hated that Wang Zheng could think of it, while he had no idea at all!

Chapter 1232: Glory

To Lear, the fight with Sword Shield Rose battle team was no longer important. When the Harbingers lost their match, it meant his victory was at hand. The strength of the Harbinger battle team was indeed incredible, being able to force the Sea Queen battle team to fight using their true strength. The only thing that could be said was that Tan Zheng was unlucky. However, in this world, luck was part of your ability. The small difference of a single move gave Lear his victory.

Through this event, it made Lear realize that it would be wise not to underestimate the strength of the Saints. Tan Zheng was simply one of the candidates for the Son of Saint – who knows what other monsters were out there.

The stronger the Sacred Religion was, the stronger Lear's desire to control them. With control over such an organization, it would be unimaginable what he could do. The idea of him being at the peak of the Milky Way Alliance was not far from sight.

Saruman Snake was practicing seriously in seclusion, not just to act mysterious. Ao Ziwei and Vincent had joined Saruman Snake's practice as well. This practice was clearly targeted at countering Lear.

However, would their last-ditch attempts be effective?

No one would know until the day of the match.

Four days later, the first match of the semifinals began at the arena of the Knights of the Light. Fighting in their home field, the Sword Shield Rose battle team welcomed the path to the finals. The Aslan citizens were not stingy with their applause. The arena had no empty seats, and the ratings of the various television networks reaching record highs.

As the opponents of Sword Shield Rose battle team, the Dynasty battle team showed their presence as well and mobilized the whole team. The Dynasty battle team had managed to recover much better than expected. Lear's plan to fight against a bewailed team was foiled, sp all he could do was simply battle.

Wang Zheng's team was indeed a legend. Without Saruman Snake, Lear would be a legend as well. He had started from Earth, and with one step at a time, climbed from the IG to the Greatest King and now on to the SIG. When Wang Zheng was the captain, Lear was the vice captain. When Wang Zheng was Greatest King, he was in fourth place. Now they were together as top four in SIG.

If there was no Wang Zheng, Lear would've been the center of attention, and terms such as "Earth's hope" and "the future leader of the Solar System" would be used on him. Due to Wang Zheng, people rarely thought of Lear, and the thought of him only came to mind in the absence of Wang Zheng. Oh, Lear was actually from Earth, like Wang Zheng.

This was not the first time Lear faced this. Against Sword Shield Rose, was this not an opportunity?

The arena of the Knights of the Light was rebuilt within the four days, not in its original color, but replaced with a silver metallic color.

Aslan went all out, since the competitors are great at destroying things, the colosseum was rebuilt using materials from out space, preventing the colosseum from being smashed into pieces. The materials used were an alloy, although the strength of the material is not durable to the extent where it is able to block heavy lasers, normal attacks are unable to scratch it. For the semi finals, the competition committee went to great lengths for it. More importantly, the construction experts from Aslan could not stand the slander anymore.

Students from the Aslan Royal College totaled three thousand, and formed teams to cheer on their seniors. A representative team came from Earth as well, it was from Zeus college. Through the years, Lear have always been a legend and the pride of Zeus college. It could be said that he was the motivation for the college's rise to a first-rate college in the Milky Way Alliance.

The students of the Zeus college would definitely not miss Lear's moment of glory.

The insides of the arena of the Knights of the Light was flooded with people, while the outside gathered more than a million supporters, supporters from the various planets in the Aslan Empire. The area surrounding the arena was completely open for the supporters, with multiple screens prepared for them. This was a grand event.

Listening to deafening cheers from the crowd, a smile broke on Lear's face. Give up?

Definitely not, why would he give up on such a rare opportunity.

Not once in his life had Luo Fei dreamt of standing on a stage as grand as this.

The hosts remained as Jondi Lilick and Si Jiali, and the popularity of the pair of hosts was sky high. Be it to Jondi Lilick or Si Jiali, this was an unexpected reward. In addition to power, influence was needed as well. Especially so for Jondi Lilick, it was a blessing in disguise. Even though he had lost, his insight as seen from his comments garnered the recognition of countless people

Before the start of the competition, it was necessary to warm up the crowd by playing videos of past battles by both teams, some involving SIG, as well as others, showing the highlights of each battle. At the same time, interviews of some competitors were shown, to hear what they thought.

Lin Feng was one of the competitors interviewed. As a representative of the royal family, there was no lack of Lin Feng's appearances in the highlights. This included his appearance in the special forces competition. However, what aroused endless cheers from the spectators was his interview.

"I am thankful to God for letting me be born as an Aslan citizen. I am willing to give my all to this great country, my motherland!"

With Lin Feng's voice, it immediately touched the hearts of countless Aslan citizens. They cheered for this member of the royal family.

The Aslan royal family had always insisted on leading by example. Although there might be some playboys or wastrels in the royal family, such individuals would be removed from the royal family and have their royal status stripped. This is what made the Aslan royal family powerful.

To remove the weeds and keep the elites.

It was similar for the members of the Sword Shield Rose battle team – only glory. It was obvious that no one here would flaunt their family status and would instead rely on an individual's performance, as well as the records they created in school, which were astounding.

Compared to the magnificence of the Sword Shield Rose battle team, the members of the Dynasty battle team appeared to be more rustic. However, this did not stop the loud cheers and applause, as the Dynasty battle team was able to stand on the same stage, the semifinals, despite their rustic appearance, which was enough to prove their strength.

As Zhou Yun, Pang Tong, and Anluda were from ancient martial families, they followed instructions when they were at Elite Academy X. Hence, the introduction this time was focused on the SIG. Lear's introduction would be slightly more, which included how he was like in Elite Academy X. At the semifinals, the committee would act fairly, not favoring one team over another, giving everyone enough exposure.

This was the first time everyone got to learn details about a youth from Earth with high aspirations. It seemed like it had been the first time in fifty years that someone had gotten so close.

At the IG, Lear had led his team to the finals but lost to Arbiter. Now, he had the opportunity to fight his way to the finals once again. What kind of performance would he show them?

When it reached Luo Fei's introduction, the fatty's unorthodox image immediately resulted in louder cheers.

It couldn't be helped – in terms of looks, Luo Fei was one of a kind in the SIG. There were individuals with various appearances in this SIG, except for a fatty. It was this fatty that had unexpectedly defeated the Asura battle team and helped bring the Dynasty battle team into the top four.

"The strength of the Sword Shield Rose battle team is undeniable. However, I feel that we should give the Dynasty battle team more applause. As one of the dark horses, they managed to fight their way into the semifinals, fully demonstrating teamwork and individual strength, together with great battle tactics," Jondi Lilick said.

Chapter 1233: Return of the King

Si Jiali appeared to be exceptionally happy and excited. Today's Si Jiali was beautiful and perhaps even radiant. It has to be said that with a different stage, the confidence of a person would be different as well.

"I think Senior Lin Feng will give it his all. The Dynasty battle team is a strong team, I hope they will be able to fight a high level battle, and let's cheer for them."

Si Jiali became more passionate, which made the crowd more enthusiastic. With the broadcast signal, the various countries were able to watch, and even those not involved were able to feel the enthusiasm. Being one step away from the finals and the center of attention, each member of these teams only had this one chance to have their names engraved in history.

Not only Lear, but Luo Fei, Zhou Yun, and the rest were the same – they did not expect to be able to reach the semi-finals together with Lear. Honestly, they had never thought about reaching the semi-finals in the first place. They had seeked out Lear as a teammate not with high hopes, but they simply had no choice. Looking at the strength of Harbingers, they would not be accepted into their team even if they tried.

Honestly speaking, at this stage, Zhou Yun and the rest were simply here to fill the numbers, to allow the Dynasty battle team to smoothly get past the initial stages. Towards the end, it depended mainly on Lear and Luo Fei to carry the team forward, especially Luo Fei, that fatty. Truthfully, the fatty's reputation was now on par with that of Lear.

As the time grew closer, the seats for the leaders of various countries and competitors were gradually filled.

Jondi Lilick and Si Jiali were chatting, analyzing the strengths of both teams. It could be said that the Dynasty battle team's prospects were not good. In order to win, they would either have to possess a trump card or depend on a miracle.

At this moment, the arena was filled with thunderous cheering, and everybody stood up.

A lot of people were unaware of what was going on. The crowd went crazy after looking at the stage, and the craze spread throughout the arena.

The cameramen were trying to capture the image, as they finally knew what was causing the craze.

It was the appearance of Saruman Snake!

Saruman Snake led by Wang Zheng had finally appeared.

"Wang Zheng, Wang Zheng, Clark Tank Academy supports you!"

"Wang Zheng, over here, oh my God, I'm going to faint!"

"Wang Zheng, Manalasuo Panther Academy supports you!"

In a brief moment, and no one knew when it was prepared, people were displaying video banners, supporting Wang Zheng and Saruman Snake.

——Great Demon King descends, Undefeated Emperor

——Saruman Snake is the strongest, with the most poisonous fangs

….

Wang Zheng and Saruman Snake's appearance caused the arena to lose control. Countless people stood up to look at the contestants' area, and they stared at Wang Zheng. He had made it.

The cheers coming from the inside of the arena affected those outside as well. When the cameras were pointed towards Wang Zheng, those on the outside of the arena erupted into thunderous cheers.

Everyone was chanting, "Greatest King, Greatest King, Greatest King!"

Up till today, Wang Zheng was the only person that was deserving of the title of Greatest King.

This was not an accident – they had faced various challenges, defeated strong opponents one after another, and eventually attained redemption. Even if Saruman Snake failed to become champions, anyone else who became champions would not dare to crown themselves as the Greatest King.

However, if, and only if, Wang Zheng managed to lead Saruman Snake to victory, he would be a miracle, as well as the first. Whether there would be others who managed to do so, only time could tell.

Si Jiali smiled as she said, "Looks like Captain Wang Zheng's popularity is unrivaled."

Jondi Lilick smiled as well. "I am one of his fans as well, I have to admit. It is fortunate to be born in the same era as him and unfortunate as well. If not for him, I could have been in the semi-finals."

Jondi Lilick's words caused another round of cheers. Following Saruman Snake's aggressive advancement into the semifinals, the burden on Jondi Lilick and the rest was removed. Losing to opponents such as Saruman Snake was not due to lack of effort or strength, but simply a matter of luck.

Whoever went up the Saruman Snake would definitely lose – it would be lucky if they made it out alive.

"Just to reveal some news, in the second half of the semifinals, there will be a video featuring Wang Zheng. I took a peek at it and it left me speechless. In the video, it revealed some secrets of Wang Zheng. I am sure that everyone that watches this video will look up to this man."

Jondi Lilick's words immediately got everyone interested. Sadly, the video could not be played now.

Si Jiali smiled. "As Wang Zheng's classmate for a short while, I know some interesting stories about him as well. People might not know, but Wang Zheng was an exchange student in Aslan's Royal College. I am sure no one would be able to guess what identity he entered the college with."

"Heh, with his strength, he must have entered as an exchange student from the military." Jondi Lilick laughed

Si Jiali shook her head and said, "He did not. Wang Zheng entered college as a student from the physics department. He was the previous awardee for the university's best contribution award. He made the greatest discovery in space theory, the greatest in the past twenty years. To put it simply, transfer using warp travel, and the translocation box we use in our mecha, originated from this theory."

The entire arena was in a frenzy and Jondi Lilick was shocked. Was this for real?

Before coming to SIG, Jondi Lilick felt that he was pretty handsome, as well as talented, incomparable to others. After coming here, he realized that he had been living in his own bubble.

Jondi Lilick smiled bitterly. "No more, please. If you continue any further, I will be too embarrassed to sit here."

Lear's face was livid. This was his competition, his stage – why were they talking about Wang Zheng!?!?

Everyone forgot about the Dynasty battle team; their focus was on Wang Zheng. Lin Feng's expression was calm – he simply did not care. Wang Zheng's achievements were not attained overnight, but accumulated over the years. He had risked his life fighting every match. Good preparation was the key to success.

This person…. Sigh, why must it be Aina!

Wang Zheng did not know whether to laugh or cry. He was here to watch to watch the competition. Sword Shield Rose would be a strong opponent in the future, so he could not miss this. Saruman Snake was pretty much prepared, and all there was left to do was fight.

As the battle between the Sword Shield Rose battle team and the Dynasty battle team had yet to begin, and everyone was so interested, reporters from the audience section immediately rushed over to the competitor's section. They did not care who was competing, they only cared about who everyone was interested in.

"Captain Wang Zheng, say a few words, since everyone is supporting you!"

"Captain Wang Zheng, do you have anything to say to your supporters? I am a fan of yours as well. Saruman Snake will definitely win!"

"No matter what, you are the strongest!"

The reporters ended up becoming fans, causing the competitors' area to be lively. The rest of the teams gave way to the reporters. There was nothing much to be said about this. If outsiders could understand what was happening, how could the competitors not understand?

Even though the chances of Saruman Snake winning were low, Wang Zheng's performance had shaken everyone's hearts.

Everyone was staring at the big screen. What was special about Wang Zheng was behind him: Mu Zhen's lumbering figure towering over him. Mu Zhen did not feel like anything was wrong, as Ada was the ambassador of the Titan god.

On Tita Star, in the five main cities, Titans and humans lived together. Gazing upon Wang Zhen on the screen, to the Titans, he was their god. As long as Wang Zheng gave the command, the Titans were willing to do anything for him!

Looking at the countless pairs of eyes that were watching him, Wang Zheng went silent for a moment and said, "I am back."

After a short period of silence, the arena roared with cheers. On Tita Star, all of the Titans raised their arms in joy. All it took was a single sentence from Wang Zheng for everyone to go crazy.

Yes, there was nothing as important as the return of the king. Wang Zheng was the reason the SIG is able to live up to its name.

Chapter 1234: Gamble

Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios

The competition had yet to begin. To be more precise, this semi-final match had nothing to do with Wang Zheng, yet he had stolen the attention of everyone.

People started returning to their seats when Wang Zheng and Saruman Snake sat down.

"Alright, back to the topic. Next up, we have the semi-final match between the Sword Shield Rose battle team and the Dynasty battle team. If the Dynasty battle team's battle tactics are well planned, they have a chance at winning," said Si Jiali as she tried to grab everyone's attention.

The fighters from both sides were done with the adjustments for their mecha, and the first match was about to begin.

"There is hope. The Dynasty battle team is a dark horse, they have a chance at a miracle. What would happen if the Dynasty battle team and Saruman Snake battle team met in the finals?" Jondi Lilick said, and afterwards, he broke into a smile. This was clearly not possible, he had said it just to make everyone excited.

"Wang Zheng, do you think Lear has a chance here?" Lie Xin asked. Tomorrow was the day of Saruman Snake's battle, but the expressions of the members were calm, maybe even full of confidence.

"Perhaps, but the difference in strength between both teams is still there," Wang Zheng replied. Truthfully, the chances were slim. For this SIG, the Sword Shield Rose battle team was indeed the overall strongest team. They were humans with the advantages of the Atlanteans. The Sword Shield Rose battle team was different from the Soulless battle team, as they were much more talented. Although they looked like elegant nobles, it did not mean that they were not serious about their training.

Amongst the audience, there were some that were special. Tan Zheng was looking at Lear, who was on the field. Tan Zheng's failure to enter the top four had caused all his efforts to be wasted. Although disappointed, Tan Zheng was not devastated. Well, the selection for the Son of Saint did not start from this generation, it happened once every few decades. However, there was no point in the selection if they failed to obtain one with core strength, and eventually they would disappear. Although the chances this time were good, the possibility was still relatively low. Obviously, Tan Zheng was not that passionate about being the Son of Saint, which was the same attitude held by a portion of the people in the core of the ancient martial families.

From Lear, he saw a strong desire. The Sacred Religion should have dispatched some people here, but what could they do? Times had changed, and even the Sacred Religion was unable to stop times from changing. The world was under Milky Way Alliance's rule. Looking at the strength of the Aslan Empire and its prosperity, what could they do?

As one of the representatives of the younger generation, Tan Zheng was more than willing to see the Sacred Religion's integration into the current world, but not for them to bring back the olden days. However, it was not his decision. All he could do now was lead a happier life.

The first battle of vanguards would determine the tides for the rest of the battles.

For the Dynasty battle team, the first to fight would be Luo Fei. The big screen showed Fatty Luo's interview, which caused the whole arena to go crazy with excitement. The spectators gave the unorthodox Luo Fei enough passion.

From the distant Zeus College, Fatty received enthusiastic cheers as well. Luo Fei's two younger brothers were amongst the crowd. They had been invited to watch the competition and were enjoying star treatment. Before the competition, Luo Fei received encouragement from both of his younger brothers and his father, so he wanted to win this fight.

From the Sword Shield Rose battle team, it was Eve Litt.

Eve Litt was the Sword Shield Rose battle team's sniper. Even if she was an all-rounder, it would not be a surprise as she was an Earth-rank warrior, and no one knew what kind of choices she would make.

Luo Fei —— Wind God

Eve Litt ——Holy Light Pioneer

Scout vs Scout

With Eve Litt's head of blond hair, it has to be said that in terms of beauty, she beat Luo Fei by a long mile, and maybe even an extra mile. However, Luo Fei did not lose to her in terms of popularity. The path to semi-finals for the Sword Shield Rose battle team had been too smooth, and Eve Litt barely had any chance to perform. She even seemed like a flower vase whose presence was just to balance out the gender ratio. It was unexpected for her to participate in such a critical battle.

Not knowing what Lin Feng's plans were, even though she was an Earth-rank warrior, she was currently facing the most popular candidate for the SIG's best scout.

The Holy Light Pioneer was a scout mech from the Holy Light series. It possessed the beauty of the Holy Light series, and together with Eve Litt, it was as beautiful as a painting.

The arena was filled with cheers when both mecha arrived on stage.

The first battle begins.

The current arena was different from the original arena. The current arena had the metallic touch of a space battleship, which made a small difference. For an Earth-rank warrior, the small difference was not an issue.

At this point, Fatty was clear of what he should do. If the opponent's strength lies in a battle of perseverance, he should hasten the pace of the battle and catch his opponent off guard.

The moment the battle began, the Wind God's magnetic force was received, and it charged towards Eve Litt. As a sniper, she had no intention of taking him in close quarters combat, and started shooting the Wind God with the Holy Light Pioneer's laser gun.

The Wind God's movement speed was fast. The magnetic force in Luo Fei's hands was used proficiently and the temporary energy shield countered the lasers. He continued to close the distance.

On the other hand, Eve Litt was calmly trying to open up the distance between her and Luo Fei. She continued firing a matrix of shots, trying to gain the upper hand. In the case of no obstacles, it would be difficult for Luo Fei to quickly get close to Eve Litt. However, it would be difficult for her to gain the upper hand over Luo Fei as well. Fatty Luo was indeed a fatty who could fly in SIG. Together with Wind God's advantages, it was possible to him to overcome the matrix of shoots, and the gap between both fighters grew smaller.

"Lin Feng's choice is confusing. Eve Litt's main fighting style should be that of a sniper. Even if she is able to fight in close quarters, there is no point. It is not hard to guess that the Dynasty battle team's first fighter would be either Lear or Luo Fei, and their fighting styles are similar," Jondi Lilick commented.

Although Eve Litt was not at a disadvantage yet, the tempo of the battle was being controlled by Luo Fei. There was no longer a need to prove Luo Fei's ability in close combat. Lin Feng's battle arrangement this round was slightly weird. He could be in possession of a trump card, but even so, it was too risky. If Luo Fei won the first match, they would have to fight a group battle, and if Lear did what Wang Zheng had done, Lin Feng could only redeem himself through death.

The Aslan team members appeared to be calm. Qian Yunzhuo and Ouyang Chuanyun seemed to be chatting, their attention not on the match. When the cameras were pointed at them, Qian Yunzhuo did not forget to pose for the camera. It has to be said, the members of the Sword Shield Rose battle team seemed to be extremely relaxed… A bit too relaxed.

"Ah, ah, ah, that idiot. If he loses, I am going to spank him!" Qian Xuedie was speechless about her dumb brother. "Tell me, why can't he be more like me?"

Ouyang Ruoliu smiled. "When the difference in strength is great, they will not lose. A captain's mood should be very relaxed, and it is necessary for every member to go onto the arena to get used to the atmosphere. Whether the next opponent is Wang Zheng or the Atlanteans, they should fight them in tip-top condition."

Chapter 1235: Fire Poison

Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios

"Wang Zheng? This is the biggest joke. Saruman Snake is already in a bad state. If Wang Zheng can still advance to the finals, I…" said Qian Xiaodie.

"What about you?" Lin Huiyin followed up. The moment when everyone was cheering for Wang Zheng, Huiyin felt that she was standing at her own concert. There were so many similarities between the two of them. They could conquer their own stage and world.

"Your Highness, you're using radical method. This is definitely impossible. Sister Ruoliu, isn't this correct?" said a smiling Qian Xuedie.

"Don't change the topic. If all of you want to make a bet, then make it fast. Let's add a little more excitement." Ouyang Ruoliu was also adding fuel to fire.

"If Wang Zheng wins this, I will grant him a request. Didn't he ask Donger for a favour the other time? I could fulfil similar conditions." Qian Xiadie said with a smile. "However, my dear Princess, if you lose, you must let me kiss you!"

Qian Xuedie pointed to her lips and gave a naughty smile.

She did not manage to frighten off Huiying this time. "Deal!"

"Count me in too. I'm betting on Sword Shield Rose. After all, Lin Feng is handsome guy," said Ouyang Ruoliu.

"This is not right of the both of you. I'm on Wang Zheng's side. He is, after all, the man I had a blind date with," said Yuan Donger.

The three were speechless. What did this have to do with that date? However, two versus two was not a bad deal.

In the battlefield, the Wind God was closing in. Although the Matrix Shot was formidable, the movements of the Wind God and the use of the temporary shield rendered Eve Litt's precise shooting useless. Admittedly, she was very precise. But a sniper would not be able to display his strength in such a battle.

The distance between the two mecha was just over ten meters now. Eve Litt decisively gave up the lasers.

Almost instantaneously, Luo Fei's Ability X exploded. The overwhelming pressure enveloped Eve Litt. Luo Fei, who is Earth-rank two warrior, was undoubtedly one of the best warriors in this SIG. This was not a battle where Lin Feng could clown around.

Luo Fei did not care if others valued him or not. It would be best if they all ignored him. He liked real results.

Luo Fei's entire attention was focused on Eve Litt. The Wind God had arrived and struck the laser hard.

Bang…

With an explosion, the laser sword was caught on a huge flame shield. Eve Litt activated the energy shield of the Holy Light Pioneer. Unlike the Knight of the Holy Light, the Holy Light Pioneer had a small, round shield. However, this round shield was covered by Eve Litt's Ability X, so it was burning with flames. It was a flame shield.

Luo Fei felt a burning sensation on his body and retreated instantly. Flame ability?

Eve Litt did not panic at all and did not retreat. The Holy Light Pioneer's flames shot up to the sky. The surging power flowed out. Her spiritual power was equal to that of Luo Fei.

Earth-rank two…

Those who were not happy with Aslan were making noises too. In fact, they were totally upset. A sniper, and a female one. As it turned out, she was also an Earth-rank level two warrior. Was she allowing her male compatriots a chance for survival?

Lie Xin was overcome with a sense of nervousness. She had felt that she was quite capable. However, when Eve Litt used her power, she instantly felt a great pressure.

This great difference in strength caused her to feel suffocated.

Wang Zheng smiled. "Advancing from Earth-rank one to Earth-rank two is actually easier. The key is the first threshold."

Lie Xin nodded and rolled her eyes at Wang Zheng. "I'm not that vulnerable. Understanding is the key to flames!"

Wang Zheng smiles slightly. "This person's understanding of flames is rather good. If Luo Fei is not careful, he might suffer."

The laser sword of the Holy Light Pioneer was drawn from its sheath and struck towards Luo Fei. In an instant, the two mecha were battling against each other, going back and forth. Eve Litt had been training.

"Eve Litt's close quarters combat is rather good too. But the problem is still obvious. Upon closer inspection, it is clear that this is not her best skill. Once engaged in a fierce battle, she will still be suppressed by Luo Fei," said Jondi Lilick. A real professional could tell the difference as soon as he took a sniff.

"Able to do close combat" and "skilled at close combat" were two different concepts.

"I believe that Captain Lin Feng has his plans."

"I believe so too. But I wonder what tactics he has planned for. Or maybe he wants to create more excitement for everyone by gifting a win for the Dynasty battle team?" said Jondi Lilick.

This was a possibility too. Think about this: being in the semi-finals was enough to prove the true strength of the Dynasty battle team. To be safe, they could just let the dangerous Luo Fei win and hold on to the team battle. That way, Aslan would ensure a safer path to the finals. This was truly not giving their opponents any opportunity.

Except… wasn't this a little too wretched???

This was what the majority of the people of Aslan were unwilling to accept. Even though they wanted to win, they wanted to win with moral honesty.

Just like Saruman Snake. Just like Soulless. Even though they had lost, they had fought with all their strengths. There were no regrets.

However, Luo Fei did not enjoy as much of an advantage in the battlefield as many though he would have. His opponent's foundation was very solid. There was no differentiation between male and female in a battlefield. Luo Fei was well aware of his situation. All his killer moves had been exposed. Luo Fei highly suspected that he had been targeted by Lin Feng, so he did not dare to try to fight too hard. If he gave his best effort and was restrained by his opponent, it would definitely spell the end for him.

Flame abilities were not new. An Earth-rank two warrior's strength could not provide Luo Fei any suppression.

Weak abilities could be used any time. The opponent was within sight. One strike would probably be enough to kill. But Luo Fei had an uneasy feeling that something was amiss.

It seemed that the opponent was waiting for him to strike. What was really frightening about the Sword Shield Rose was that most of their abilities had yet to be exposed. This was the greatest problem that their opponents were facing. Luo Fei had no choice but to be cautious.

His Ability X was activated. He chose to use the safest method – to absorb his opponent's spiritual power. He need not devour the entire power, as he still had to fight in the team battle. He just needed to give a little suppression, then launch a deadly attack properly.

Anyone would be powerless when confronted with such a devouring power. It was no different for Eve Litt. Continuous output of spiritual power was necessary in order to maintain the current confrontation. Otherwise, once the opponent had complete control of the situation, she would be rendered helpless. Luo Fei's ability was really good at injuring people imperceptibly, which was very deadly. The only way to fight with Luo Fei was for him to use his weaker ability. By then, it would be difficult to predict who would be the winner.

In terms of combat skill, Eve Litt was indeed pretty good. But it was merely passive confrontations.

"Eve Litt is way too careful. She is very similar to the captain in this aspect," said Qian Yunzhuo with a smile.

"Being stable is the correct thing to do. Those who have climbed up from the bottom have very strong tenacity," said Ouyang Chuanyun.

Lin Feng looked at the two carelessly. It was obvious that he wanted the two to pay a little more attention to their words.

Even if it was an easy task, due respect should be given to the opponent. Was it a pretence? Yes, it was. A little pretence was always needed. Not everyone could indulge, at least not him.

Lou Fei felt his body heating up suddenly. Initially, he was not too concerned. But by the time he realised it, he had realised that a problem had arisen.

The Wind God mech suddenly closed in. His body temperature was rising continuously.

Eve Litt did not give chase. "You have been infected by my Fire Poison. Your best option now is to withdraw from the competition and seek treatment.".

Luo Fei examined his entire body instantly. He had been careful, yet he had still fallen for her trick. Fire restrained wood. Eve Litt's Fire Poison was specifically targeted at the life force of the wood attribute. If she was confronted with a different opponent, she would still be trying to figure out how to use Fire Poison against her opponent. But Lou Fei's abilities were like bringing a knife to a gunfight.

This Fire Poison would feel like a bone-decaying poison once it penetrated through. It was difficult to get rid of to begin with. Lou Fei's wood attribute helped to breed the spreading of the poison. Spiritual power could only suppress it temporarily; it could not solve the problem.

This was probably Lin Feng's plan.

In the commentary box, Jondi Lilick had already explained the Fire Poison to everyone. This was the principle of the mutual promotion and restraint of the five elements. This was also the reason why warriors had to hide their powers. This was because the further they advanced, the easier it was for them to be targeted. As soon as they had been restrained, death would be a certainty. Once energy was restrained, even their exertion would be suppressed too.

It appeared Eve Litt was putting on a show earlier on so that Luo Fei would not notice this. However, if Eve Litt had never used it before, so how would anyone have guessed it?

Not everyone with fire attribute power had the Fire Poison derivation ability. This was the difference between extensive use and precision. If one focused all of one's energy into a single attribute, the hidden powers of the attribute would be discovered. Similarly, extensiveness bred varieties and profoundness bred depth. Thus, it was considered an upgrade of power, rendering it difficult to defend against.

Lie Xin was a flame manipulator and was obviously more aware that this move alone revealed that her opponent had a deeper understanding than her. Honestly, she should not think too far ahead since she had yet to reach Earth-rank level. Of course, Lie Xin has her own advantages too. Her flames abilities relied on Fire Technique. She believed that she would metamorphosize once she advanced to Earth-rank. However, it was difficult to get past Luo Fei.

No one was biased against Luo Fei. Besides, he was once their teammate in the IG.

"Luo Fei better surrender. Eve Litt is not kidding," said Lie Xin with a sigh.

Luo Fei could suppress her at the moment. However, the more power he exerted, the more lethal the Fire Poison would become. Besides, he was even afraid to use his devouring power now, so how could he fight?

Thus, he was completely in limbo. Sword Shield Rose was already very strong, and they were also using tactics. They really had no intention of giving their opponents any chance of survival.

This had undoubtedly solved all the questions. The camera had now penned at Lin Feng. However, the captain himself was expressionless. This was not a big deal. The situation had come to such a stage that even a stupid ass would know what to target.

Fatty smiled and did not pay any attention to Eve Litt. He forcefully used spiritual power to lock the Fire Poison. The Wind God made its move.

Eve Litt frowned. Her opponent lacked the understanding of the gravity of the current situation.

How could he possibly be her equal now that he was being cautious?

The Flame Sword struck down frantically. Eve Litt had also cast aside her earlier caution. Suddenly, her stature became more violent and she opened up her attacking mode.

Suddenly, the Wind God lost control. Comparing movements?

The Holy Light series was comparable to any other mecha. However, Eve Litt did not need to use many of the special features of the mech. Her battling skills alone were enough to make it difficult for Luo Fei to defend against her. In addition, the intermittent attacks from Luo Fei had all been blocked off by the energy shield. At the same time, he had to deal with the counterattacks of the fire shield, thus increasing the toxicity of the Fire Poison. He had no choice but to "eat" now!

As an Earth-rank warrior as well, Eve Litt was still very cautious. This fellow was still holding on to an ability – debility. She had no choice but to be careful. When an Earth-rank warrior fought back, it would still be very dangerous.

Eve Litt deliberately used the Fire Poison so as to disrupt her opponent's fighting spirit. Since her opponent had chosen to continue to fight, then she would slowly encroach, slowly expanding her advantage.

She was a woman. She would not be stirred up and would not be hot-headed. She just needed to take the victory elegantly.

Luo Fei was definitely waiting for an opportunity; waiting for the moment when the spiritual power relaxed. His debility ability was still very powerful. Furthermore, with the Teleportation Box, an opportunity still existed. However, Eve Litt's manipulation was truly excellent. He had been depleting his strength and the Fire Poison was still penetrating through.

This invisible thing was truly lethal. If he had full defended fully right from the start, it might have been better. But he had been poisoned by the Fire Poison, and it was like a seed repeatedly summoning for an external power. Luo Fei grit his teeth and fought hard to control. His body temperature had risen to the warning level. The harder he fought, the more critical the situation became.

In the end, Luo Fei counter-attacked. He could not continue to wait. After a heavy strike, his debilitating ability enveloped the Holy Light Pioneer.

Eve Litt did not panic. On the contrary, she did what she would do in practice. The great and mighty Aslan Empire had many different types of sparring. Of course, even if there was no sparring, they could still do a simulation with a similar effect.

The mech reacted instantly. Runes flashed and Luo Fei's attack struck on empty. The Holy Light Pioneer had already opened up a distance of more than ten meters. Even with the use of the teleportation box, it was insufficient to close in the distance. He had completely fallen into the calculated plan of his opponent. Even if he had used the teleportation box, it would be a wasted effort because his opponent could also use it to open up the distance again.

Eve Litt's composure brought a sense of hopelessness to her opponent. A few seconds later, this sort of strength disappeared. The flames of the Holy Light Pioneer shot towards the sky. The temperature of the entire arena felt like a burning furnace. A second energy protection wall was raised. Waves of heat waves shot towards the sky.

The Holy Light Pioneer attacked. Intense fire set the prairie ablaze!

The laser sword was activated and attacked completely indiscriminately. Following the attacks were waves of fire that enveloped the two mecha. Meanwhile, the Fire Poison was slowly eroding Luo Fei's body. This time he really could not devour any more.

Lear's face turned green. He did not expect such a situation. It made him seem rather naive. Being targeted to such an extent was embarrassing and humiliating.

Lear and Lin Feng had "interacted as good friends" before the match. After all, they were considered acquaintances. It was great for everyone to have an exciting competition.

Of course, if Luo Fei had won the first match, he would not be so cordial. Any promises made were all bullsh*t. He would not have thought that as soon as the competition started, Lin Feng would deal a head-on blow at the first encounter.

He had been set up.

Lin Feng did not care for Lear. Lin Feng knew about the intentions of these ambitious people who had climbed up from the bottom all too well. It was easy to deal with such people: with oppression. As soon as they were oppressed, they would kneel and be suppressed, and would never act out again. They would not dare to. They had too many misgivings. But if they were given a chance, they would make false counter-charges.

It was so naive of them to play such games with the Aslan people. Lin Feng was merely teaching Lear a good lesson.

Luo Fei had been badly battered. The Wind God had also lost its agility from earlier. The cameras were now pointed into the cockpit. Luo Fei's face was bright red. Although everyone had seen worse injuries, these battle conditions were very unfavourable.

Eve Litt could not understand why this fellow was so insistent. All his base cards had been clearly revealed. Death was the certain outcome of his insistence. Was he still carrying some wild hope for an opportunity?

Bang…

One interaction. The Holy Light Pioneer's sword swept over the Wind God, which managed to dodge it. However, his teleportation box was destroyed and she managed a kick.

The Wind God rolled and flew out.

Knights of Light Arena roared with cheers. The camera panned towards Eve Litt's elegant face, and she received even more applause. Even after having been invincible in the earlier battles and viewed as a threat by many, Luo Fei was totally helpless against her. This was how mighty Aslan was.

That's not to say that this match was uninteresting to watch. The Sword Shield Rose battle team had sent on a random someone and oppress the unstoppable Luo Fei.

Luo Fei had nowhere to retreat now.

"Last chance, do you concede defeat?" asked Eve Litt as she pointed her laser sword at him. She had crumbled all of her opponent's moves; it was time to finish off the battle.

The fat face of Luo Fei revealed a smile. Indeed, he had run out of options, but to admit defeat?

No, he could not!

Everyone had a reason to battle. Luo Fei… did too.

Luo Fei released all his spiritual power, allowing the Fire Poison to rage on uncontrollably. What did he have to be concerned with? What did he have to be scared of? Maybe this was for the better. He could finally let go and put everything on the line.

A repressed energy enveloped him. Luo Fei's eyes was slowly turning blood-red. Be forlorn. He would become whatever Lear needed.

Suddenly, the Wind God exploded!

Eve Litt let out a cold snort. The Holy Light Pioneer welcomed it head on. The laser swords struck each other without any fancy tricks.

Consumed!

Fatty's absorption devoured everything, including spiritual power and Fire Poison!

Eve Litt was stunned. The Wind God had already been held down. A rotating kick and Eve Litt opened up her energy shield.

Bang…

The extremely strong kick sent the Holy Light Pioneer flying. The energy shield shook violently.

Luo Fei was now exuding a demonic-like state.

This was a characteristic of Luo Fei's ability. In fact, it was similar to when he faced Mars previously. Once he disregarded his concern for life and began consuming, he could devour everything. In fact, he would be in a state of extreme excitement for a specific period of time.

Of course, the effects of the Fire Poison were even more powerful. But under certain circumstances, the Fire Poison could also stimulate the body. When Luo Fei decided to forgo suppression and disregard his concerns, this power stimulated the functions of his body. In fact, it was taking an overdraft on his life.

Growling… Growling… Shing…

Exuding fire, the Wind God was like a wind demon. Magnetic source connected continuously and struck like lightning.

Luo Fei had no intention of letting Eve Litt land. Instantly, he launched attack after attack. Eve Litt could only use her energy shield to resist the attacks. The fire shield's rebound seemed to be of little use. She did not expect Luo Fei to stake his life.

Luo Fei was crazy right now. Just like in the beginning, his laser sword struck mindlessly. Under the most primal instincts, each strike was deadly. Wretchedness within ferociousness. It was indefensible. Eve Litt gritted her teeth and moved cautiously. At such times, she could not afford to relax or entertain the hope of being lucky. She needed to wait for her opponent to make a mistake.

Jondi Lilick was full of praises too. If it had been someone else, he would have been eager to shake off Lou Fei's frenzy attacks. But the harder the opponent tried, the easier it was to get into trouble. This was the mistake that Mars had made back then. However, Eve Litt was defending steadily. This was a tactical battle system. The teacher might have reminded them thousands of times, but it would be forgotten during actual battle.

Eve Litt's choice was the correct one. The problem was whether she would be able to hold her defenses.

Bang…

The energy shield shattered. Mars could not withstand the strong "Wind Demon" state. Even though the energy shield of the Holy Light mech was good, it was not indestructible.

At precisely the moment the energy shield shattered, the Holy Light activated its teleportation box instantly, opening up some precious distance. At the same time, a Runic Matrix was transmitted. Although it was a little slower, it was still able to open up an even greater distance before the arrival of Wind God.

Lou Fei was burning his candle at both ends now. Thus, the longer Eve Litt dragged on, the sooner he would die. He could not afford to let things drag on.

Chapter 1237: All Rounded Rose

Eve Litt's expression became solemn. Anyone who was willing to bet their lives must have something very precious that they had to protect. Some wanted to live, some did it for their countries. Some for honour. But these were obviously not suitable for this fatty.

He must have something that he needed to protect.

She had no ill intentions initially, but since it had come to such a point, she could no longer hide it.

Facing the onslaught from the Wind God, the Holy Light Pioneer did not evade. Withdrawing her laser sword slowly, her spiritual power agglomerated and constantly compressed, seemingly making a concession.

However, in the blink of an eye, Luo Fei had charged through, and there was resolution in those red eyes.

Buzz…

The laser sword struck down hard!

However, the Holy Light Pioneer suddenly sprung up at this very moment. With a swift and violent pick up, the repressed spiritual power suddenly exploded.

Hidden Flames Soaring Hack!

A ray of azure blue flame shot up to the sky in a spin. Luo Fei's laser sword suddenly shattered. His spiritual power tried to devour, but he only managed to touch it for a moment before he was bleeding from his eyes, ears, nose, and mouth in the cockpit.

A deeper blue.

If he could not carry mutual restraint of the fire element, it would be impossible to do so with the wood attribute too. This was self-destruction.

The Wind God flew away. Luo Fei's consciousness was also floating away. The redness in his pupils was slowly dissipating. Life was slowly slipping away. Luo Fei knew that such a day would come. So he would eat while he could, he would sleep while he could. He would eventually have to repay what he owed Lear with his life. This was his destiny.

Bang…

The Wind God… landed… remaining still.

The azure blue flame on the Holy Light Pioneer faded slowly away. The pride of Aslan's engineers had melted to the ground…

The entire arena was dead silent. A few seconds later, Jondi Lilick provided a prompt. "The winner for the first vanguard battle goes to the Sword Shield Rose battle team!"

Suddenly, the entire arena was filled with applause. The Aslan people were undoubtedly the happiest people. Now the Sword Shield Rose was the strongest. They could easily eliminate their opponents in any position that they took. This was heaven-defyingly strong.

The emergency response team rushed forward and pulled Luo Fei out. But they withdrew their hands as soon as they touched his body. Luo Fei's entire body was burning hot. Eve Litt's Fire Poison was really formidable, and Luo Fei had inhaled a lot of it.

Lin Feng flicked his fingers. "Ouyang, go."

Ouyang Chuanyun shrugged his shoulders and stood up. In a flash, he was in the centre of the arena. "Move aside, all of you."

As he spoke, his Ability X exploded. A bright, white light shrouded Luo Fei. Not only was Ouyang Chuanyun a rare light attribute, his understanding was also very in-depth, especially the ability to repel the harm caused by Ability Xs and a very strong effect on stabilizing spiritual powers.

Under Ouyang Chuanyun's treatment, Luo Fei's high temperature finally came down. "Alright, you can carry him down now."

Suddenly, more enthusiastic rounds of applause sounded in the entire arena. Aslan had seized both reputation and dignity.

Victory on the first battle.

The Dynasty battle team had been forced into a desperate situation. Luo Fei had always been the key to the Dynasty battle team's victories. They would have a blast in the team battle if they could include a vanguard. However, now that Luo Fei had fallen, a team battle was out of the question. There was not much hope for the Dynasty battle team.

However, what was most frightening was not the fact that the Dynasty battle team no longer had any hope, but rather the dominance of Sword Shield Rose.

Everyone had always believed that Arbiter's battle team was stronger in terms of combat skills, while Aslan seemed a little more vulnerable. But in actual fact, Sword Shield Rose was the most balanced and most powerful team in the SIG. Their sniper had easily crushed a super scout.

This was the Sword Shield Rose battle team – a symbol of perfection.

Not only were they strong in combat, they were also compassionate. At this moment, they had not stood by and done nothing simply because the opposite party was their opponent.

This was also the reason why Aslan was the strongest country in the Milky Way Alliance. Strong and conquering. Who would not wish for that?

This had nothing to do with a home field advantage. Sword Shield Rose had won the cheers of everyone at the scene. The cheers had also rung out to all the planets of Aslan. Being an Aslan citizen was a fortunate thing. They enjoyed the best benefits of the Milky Way Alliance, the best education, and at the same time, possessed the strongest warriors. Everywhere they went, they were first class citizens. They were the envy of the people of the rest of the countries.

It was now Dynasty's turn to make a decision. Lear was expressionless. Luo Fei's defeat spelled the end of everything. But this was within his predictions. What was more important was what he could gain from this SIG.

Of course, it was not victory. But at least there was an opportunity to demonstrate his strength!

Second match. Lear took the stage himself. This was an announcement to his opponent that he wanted to be tough. Even if he could not beat them, they should still keep their momentum!

Sword Shield Rose was undoubtedly more relaxed. Qian Yunzhuo stepped up.

Lear's mood dropped to rock bottom.

Defeat was not important. It depended on who the opponent was as well. He was targeting Lin Feng. Even if he were to be defeated by Lin Feng, at least they could learn to appreciate each other while fighting. At the same time, the rate of exposure would be completely different. To lose by a neck sounded better.

Unfortunately, Lear had over-estimated himself. To Lin Feng, Lear was unworthy. For Sword Shield Rose, this battle was entirely a training session – it allowed each member an opportunity to showcase themselves and warm up. In Lin Feng's eyes, there was no difference between Lear and Luo Fei.

It was a different situation for Lear. If they were to win, the team battle would still be a walk in the park. Just thinking about Sword Shield Rose's line-up was enough to make one feel despair. If they were to lose… it would be even… worse.

Honestly, Lear would rather lose to Lin Feng. Unfortunately, life would not give people many choices.

Tan Zheng smiled, or maybe he understood Lear's ambition and his modus operandi. Although they both did not know one another, Lear still wanted to take this opportunity to leave a mark. Unfortunately, he did not have the strength. Lin Feng probably did not mean to, it was just that he did not think much of his opponent.

On the other hand, there was Wang Zheng…

Tan Zheng was extremely curious about Wang Zheng. He had felt something very different from Wang Zheng. Maybe he should report this to his family. Even though they were both humans from Earth, why did they have a better opinion of Lear? He felt that Wang Zheng was more qualified as a candidate to the Son of Saint.

Lear's choice was the Primordial Battle God, his most practiced mech.

Qian Yunzhuo's choice was the Knight of Holy Light. Sword Shield Rose had planned to use the Holy Light series till the very end. Even though the SIG had not ended yet, what was foreseeable was that for the next five years, the Holy Light series mecha would dominate the military purchases of all major countries in the Milky Way Alliance.

There was nothing more profitable than arms sales this world, especially national arms sales.

The match had begun. Qian Yunzhuo piloted the Knight of Holy Light out to the field. When the cameras were panned towards him, it was as if he had felt it and began waving to the crowd.

"It seems like contestant Qian Yunzhuo is feeling very relaxed. However, his opponent, Lear, is also one of the top contestants in the SIG. His physical techniques and Ability X are very amazing, somewhat like Luo Fei, but stronger. If Qian Yunzhou is too relaxed, he will have to watch out."

Jondi Lilick commented. After watching the first match, he knew that the Dynasty battle team did not stand any chance at all. In fact, this was not only true for Dynasty. Anyone facing such a twisted team would not stand a chance either. This should be a battle team composing of all Earth-rank level two super warriors. All of them were qualified to be team leaders. The rest would not stand a chance against a team consisting of such people.

However, the stronger the team, the higher the expectations. If Qian Yunzhuo was intending to play with fire, the joke might be on him.

Si Jiali smiled. "Although Junior Qian Yunzhuo likes to joke around, when battling is concerned, he is known to be cold and passionate."

Many were rather surprised. Was Qian Yunzhuo the liveliest person in Sword Shield Rose?

There was no turning back. Both parties had reached a climax in the battle from the start of the match. Lear fully displayed his intrepid physical techniques and lightning abilities. However, Qian Yunzhuo seemed at ease while dealing with such attacks.

They were evenly matched in the first ten minutes of the match. It was obvious that Qian Yunzhuo was very skilful in physical techniques as well. Additionally, he had researched the different physical techniques and characteristics of the practices of various countries.

Qian Yuedie was nipping on cotton candy, which she had somehow gotten her hands on. "What?! That idiot! He can't even hit that. I won't feed him when he gets home!"

"Brother Yunzhuo should be the best at physical techniques in Sword Shield Rose. But he doesn't have any advantage against Lear," said Donger.

Huiyin smiled slightly. "This is merely a probe. I heard Big Brother said that based on physical techniques alone, he would still not be a match for Brother Yunzhuo. He has researched various froms of physical combat, especially the ancient martial arts. He could be considered a master of ancient martial arts."
