Shi Meng hurriedly walked into the villa. He needed to talk to Grandpa Su and Su Han first before Su Lin gets a chance to spin some wild stories.
"Aha. Look who is here." A tall man wearing glasses greeted Shi Meng as he walked in.
Shi Meng waved at him and got straight to the point. "Where is Grandpa?"
Su Han, of course, knew very well why his recently divorced friend was here. He calmly replied, "He is there right outside talking to someone."
Shi Meng sneered. "What do you mean by someone? I just saw Su Lin drive into the villa."
Su Han sighed. He knew this was coming one day or the other. The man might be his good friend, but he was just not someone who is meant for the married life.
"Are you tailing her man?"
"mmm. She is lying. Don't trust her."
"What do you mean?" Su Han was slightly surprised.
"I mean she faked her entire illness. Bitch somehow mysteriously became whole, healthy and cancer-free in a weak."
"What???" Su Han was shocked. Now he had a better idea of what just happened.
"I will explain it to you later. Now, where is grandpa?"
The duo rushed outside to the gardens, where Grandpa Su was chatting with a lean and pale woman. She looked very haggard and tired, but still, she had an air of elegance about her.
Noticing the new company, Grandpa Su loudly cleared his throat. "You brat. Why did you act so impatiently?? You couldn't talk to this old man first before taking such huge decisions?"
"Did your mother put you up to this?"
Grandpa Su loudly harrumphed and chided Shi Meng.
Shi Meng completely ignored the old man's nagging and angrily scoffed. "I suggest you chase her out of here this instant."
Grandpa Su looked sternly at Su Lin and then at Shi Meng. "And why would I do that ?"
But Shi Meng didn't back down, he brashly retorted. "Grandpa! She is a dirty liar and scammer. Disgusting snake. She faked her illness. Her cancer mysteriously disappeared."
Grandpa Su immediately gasped in surprise. He turned towards Su Lin and looked at her with questioning eyes.
But unlike Shi Meng, he did not doubt her, rather he was more relieved. "Is that true child? Are you no longer feeling sick?"
Su Lin, who was silently enjoying the show till now, finally spoke up. "Ah. I am also not sure what happened grandpa."
"Lately, I have been studying Chinese medicine and traditional herbs and tried a few unknown herbs from the antique market."
"And suddenly, I started feeling better. I don't know how to explain it. I am really not lying or cheating anyone."
Su Lin decided that it was best for her to play innocent. After all, the innocent and pure act suited her current body the best.
"Hmph. Lies. Lies and more lies." Shi Meng raged on the side. How dare this woman spew out such blatant lies!!!
"Don't believe her grandpa!" He shouted.
Su Lin was thoroughly enjoying the man's agitated expression. The poor guy already looked like he was about to have a stroke and she hadn't even started torturing him yet.
The old man frowned. He looked at the two adults in front of him, bickering like children and felt totally helpless.
On one hand, he did agree with Shi Meng. Things did look a bit suspicious, but on the other hand, he couldn't bring himself to doubt the kind and pure young woman in front of him.
"Sigh. Why don't we all calm down for now? We can talk about this later on when everyone has had a chance to cool down."
"Child, why don't you stay in our guest room for tonight? I will arrange something better for you tomorrow." Granpa Su patted Su Lin, and then started heading back into the house.
His health was not like how it used to be and he needed to rest. He yawned and went inside.
With a cruel smile, Shi Meng sarcastically shouted at the disappearing figure. "That's a very sound logic grandpa. You are going to regret this."
"This is not over. I will be here again tonight grandpa!"
Grandpa Su didn't bother to turn around and answer him and simply mumbled. "Bring your mother also."
Throwing a threatening glance at Su Lin, Shi Meng walked away angrily. This was definitely not going the way he wanted and it pissed him off.
Su Lin on the other hand returned his grimace with a pleasant infuriating smile. She had almost won the first fight.
She happily followed grandpa and headed inside to freshen up.
