Chapter 5

"Mom, dad it's getting late so i better leave". Annabel says as she gets up from her seat.

"Annie dear it's still so early, why don't you stay a bit longer? I still haven't introduced you to some of the people I wanted to yet". Mrs Garcia says as she walks to her daughters side

"Mom you know i don't like staying out late, besides you can introduce me to them some other time ". She says as she picks her phone up.

"Annie you can't just leave". Her mother says, trying to find a reason for her to stay.

"Rachel dear, leave Anna alone she may be tired, let her go home and rest". Her dad says as he smiles at her.

"Ugh fine since all of you always like going against me then whatever". Her mom says as she pouts and folds her arms.

"Anna, if you don't mind why don't I walk you out". Dean says as he smiles and walks towards her.

"Oh don't worry Dean, I'll be fine".

"Oh Annie don't be stubborn, Dean here just wants to escort you to your car, is that wrong, he's just being courteous". Her mom says with a smile.

"Fine". Anna says with a mental sigh. "You can escort me". She says as she puts her arm through his and they head towards the door.

"Goodbye dear". Her mom says smiling as she waves.

"Bye mom and dad". Anna says as she turns her head towards her parents and waves at them.

"They seem to love you alot". Dean says making casual talk as they walk towards the door.

"Well i am their only child". She says with an awkward smile.

"Still I'd give everything I had to have parents like yours". He says in a sad tone and Anna couldn't help but feel guilty, yes her parents were sometimes overbearing but she had them and was taking it for granted, while Dean had no one.

"You seem like a nice guy". She says with a warm smile. "I'm sure your parents would have been proud to see you turn out the way you did".

"Thank you". He says smiling back at her and before they know it they are in front of her car.

"Thanks for walking me to my car".

"The pleasure is all mine". He says as they unhook their arms.

As Anna opened her car and climbed in, Dean walked to her window.

"I know we just met but could I have your number?". He says with a charming smile which could make any girl melt.

"Um i don't know". She says coming back to her senses. "Like you said, we just met, how do I know you're not some pervert or creep or something".

"Well you don't but how would you know if you don't get to know me". He says with a smile.

"Or how about this, why don't I give you my number and you can text me or call me whenever you want".

"You're not going to give up are you". She says with a light smile.

"Or I could easily just go back into the party and ask your mom for your number, I'm sure she'd be delighted to give it to me ". He says as he gives off a devilishly handsome smirk.

"Wow okay fine I'll give it to you". She says laughing knowing full well that her mom would literally sell her out and give him her number.

As soon as they exchange numbers Anna starts the car and heads home while thinking about the handsome man she had just gotten acquainted with.

"Mrs Hunter I'm back". Anna says as she uses her key to open the door.

"Mrs Anna welcome back home, how was the party?". Mrs Hunter asks as she immediately goes to help Anna take her coat off.

"Did you enjoy it?". She says with a smile as she was actually hoping the child would finally enjoy her life and stop punishing herself for something that wasn't even her fault, she genuinely cared about Anna and saw her as her own child.

"It was fine Mrs Hunter, mom and dad really outdid themselves with the par…..". As soon as she was about to finish her sentence Annabel heard her phone ringing and to her surprise it was the gentleman she had just recently gotten acquainted with.

ANSWERS THE CALL

Dean: Well hello beautiful.

Dean says as he smiles

Anna: Hi Dean.

Dean: I was Just calling to see if you got home safely.

Anna: Well I did thank you for worrying but judging by the way you are I doubt that's the only reason you called me.

She says as she chuckles

Dean: Guilty as charged, I called you to ask whether you'd be free to go out with me sometime soon.

Anna: What do you mean go out with you?

Dean: I don't mean a date I just mean like hang out and then you could take me to your house , show me around and then if we end up in your room and on your bed I wouldn't be opposed to it.

He says as he laughs at the end of the sentence.

Anna: ha ha very funny.

She says sarcastically.

There's no way in hell I'm bringing you to my house and I'll be the daughter of a chimpanzee if we end up on my bed.

She says as she mentally rolls her eyes.

Dean: Calm down tiger I was just joking, but I am actually serious about wanting to go out with you, it doesn't actually have to be a date, it could just be too attractive individuals having coffee with one another.

He says as he chuckles again.

Anna: You're not going to give up on this are you.

She says as she sighs.

Dean: Not a chance, beautiful.

Anna: Ugh fine I'll go out with you but this is not a date okay.

She says sternly as she strains the not a date part.

Dean: Okay Annie my dear.

He says as he mimics the ways her mom calls her.

Anna: Keep going and I may just cancel this outing thing.

She says annoyed.

Dean: Okay fine I apologize.

Anna: Fine, I'm okay going out around Saturday considering you're a busy man. Saturday seems like a free day for you.

Dean: Wait no Saturday is too far it's a whole week away.

Anna: Don't tell me Mr big bad Duan corp owner can't wait a couple of days to go out with little ol me.

She says in a sarcastic tone.

Dean: Hey, who wouldn't be excited to go out with you, ugh fine I'll wait.

Anna: Whatever, now if you excuse me I need to go have a bath, I'm too exhausted and need to rest after that party.

Dean: Well I on the other hand am still at the party, I'll head back inside after this call.

Anna: What do you mean you're still at the party?

Dean: Your parents wouldn't let me leave.

Anna: Oh that's how they normally are, sorry.

She says feeling a bit sorry for him

Dean: Don't be, they are wonderful people and they have a wonderful daughter.

He says smiling.

Anna: Thanks for the compliment Dean, you're not too bad yourself, now if you can excuse me I need to go.

Dean: Okay beautiful, goodbye and don't miss me too much.

Anna: I should be saying that to you Mr Saturday is too far.

She says with a slight laugh.

Dean: Touché beautiful.

He says with a smile.

Goodbye.

Anna: Goodbye.

Anna says as she cuts the call
