Chapter 4

[Congratulations on awakening]

[Ability gained: Biomancy]

[Minor evolution achieved, the user is now: Human (Esper)]

[Name: Damien Walker. Race: Human (Esper)

Racial ability: Biomancy

Abilities: System assistant (Special)

Skills: None

Points: 900.

Mission: None]

And just like that, I now have one of the world's strongest powers. Biomancy.

"So how do I use it?" I ask the system.

Despite the potential it has, the system assistant is more of a weak A.I that can only help with inquiries about the system, articles bought from the system, or anything that can be directly influenced by the system, I cannot track the date and time, I cannot make it remind me of stuff, and I cannot ask it anything. I can only ask it a few questions which it can answer, other than that, it says 'Sorry, but that does not concern me', it's irritating. I always dreamed of A.Is being more... Interesting, instead I got something like the early versions of a Chat-bot, but with just a bit more memory.

[The usage of powers is already coded in the user's instincts; all the user has to do is focus on a specific task]

It makes sense, I guess, we're talking about a superpower here, so my logic doesn't exactly apply here.

I look around the room to find something I could use; Biomancy could be used on living or recently dead material. However, I don't really have any in my room.

Meh, if I learned anything during these last years, it's patience, I'll just wait until I meat something suitable.

"System, I need a power that enables me to store stuff in a sub-dimension and take it out by will, try to keep it cheap" Taken to the real world, the most powerful aspect of an RPG U.I is the inventory system, it allows you to a large number of items and take it out whenever you want.

Plus, the stuff never goes bad!

If you were to improve your storage capacity, what stops you from having a portable tank? Or a plane? Or a mini machine gun? Or a fucking artillery cannon? What stops you from having an army of robots you can unleash wherever the fuck you want? Moreover, what stops you from stealing anything? You can basically take anything you want, and they won't find it no matter how hard they search you.

[Ability: Magic Box]

[Ability: Inventory]

[Ability: Store]

"Show me the descriptions," I said, I read the descriptions of many abilities and items, divided them into types, made a plan about which I plan to get first. 1000 points are a lot of points, so even if I never awakened, I wouldn't be disappointed. However, now that I have Biomancy, which is, despite its great potential applications, mainly a support ability, so my focus should be on supporting that ability while obtaining some offensive power outside the eventual physical enhancement I will be performing on myself in the future.

[Ability: Magic Box

Price: 100 points

Description: You can summon a box that can contain up to 200 kg of nonliving material]

[Ability: Inventory

Price: 150 points

Description: You can send nonliving objects to a separate space for storage, you can only store up 30 objects each under 20kg each]

[Ability: Store

Price: 200 Points

Description: You can store stuff you touch in a separate, private mini-dimension. You can only store up to 200 kg worth of nonliving material, time passes differently in the Storage dimension in a 9/10 ratio]

"Buy store," I said, that ability has everything that I needed, magic box probably has some limits on the size of the item based on the opening of the box, and inventory has slots, limiting me greatly. However, storage not only has none of the mentioned restrictions, but it also has a delayed time ratio, which would be great for storing food, especially after upgrading the ability.

"Arthur, it's time for breakfast" I heard aunt veronica's voice calling for me.

Usually, I wake up earlier than her, one of my old world's habits, however, due to the awakening of my ability, I must have overslept.

Usually, an esper cannot be detected by others unless he is using his ability. Except those who have detection abilities or Espers which have a lot of energy, in that case, even weak a weak esper can detect it. I know that my aunty is a powerful esper with an ice type ability, however, even for a person which just awakened like myself, I could feel something radiate from her, it was both amazing and overwhelming at the same time, and it formed an invisible pressure over me.

'System is there a way to resist this energy. Rank them from better to worst and don't show me the items' i ask as the pressure begun half suffocating me.

[Ability: Energy resistance]

[Ability: Will up]

[Ability: Mind up]

[Ability: Spirit up]

[Ability: Energy up]

[Ability: Endurance up]

The famous 'up' series, this is practically the system's way of giving me a stat up, they're fairly cheap and provide pretty good upgrades as they evolve, however, I need to select something that will not attract auntie's attention.

'Select energy resistance'

[You have lost 20 points]

[Ability: Energy resistance

Price: 20 points

Description: You grow more resistant to all kinds of energy and radiation]

I feel something cold wash over me, then the pressure lessened a lot actually, I could still feel auntie's energy in all its magnificence, but it now fails to pressure me as it used to be. Don't get me wrong, it's still there, but it feels like I'm now used to it.

"Good morning Auntie Veronica!" I put back my usual childlike smile and walk into the kitchen. Aunt was currently drinking her coffee, a bowl of cereals in front of her.

"Look who's up late, that's weird coming from you, mister early bird," she says as I sat next to her on the kitchen's counter.

"I'm still a child, sleep is important for my growth," I say as I took my Smartphone, then open an FPS zombie game.

Despite the differences between my old world and this one, some stuff didn't change. Series, movies, tropes, anime, literature, and video games. True, the existence of superpowers and magic still made a great difference, yet if someone were to observe modern society closely, many things remain the same.

"Violent video games are bad for children" she stated with a smile, wanting to tease me.

"No, they're actually really good if one wants to become a hero: people who have never even seen a gun up-close are easily scared and startled by the sound of bullets and easily freeze in fear if someone pointed a gun at them. Gamers, on the other hand, are used to the sounds of battle; they're used to facing danger. Granted, it's virtual, but the excitement and adrenaline are still there in their subconscious, gamers are the best soldier candidates!" I say while shooting my sniper rifle.

Aunty Veronica stays silent for a while. I couldn't see her expression since I focused on my game, eventually, she released a long sigh.

"Cynthia is a bad influence on you," she said as she gently patted my hair. "Finish quickly, we'll be going in less than an hour," she said as she got up. "I trust I can leave the dishes to you," she said.

I have already proved several times that I could wash the dishes, as I felt that it was my duty to help her on the day she's tired from work. However, I still didn't like it.

"No, I'm only six years old, that's cruel child labor," I say as I take aim on the barrel of fuel next to the hoards of zombies.

*BOOM!*

*You Win!*

I like this life.
