Oscar's parents

During class I saw him across the room. His phone started to ring. He left I don't know why but I felt worried. He came back about 20 minutes later and got scolded by the teacher. He told her "I'm sorry it was my father. It won't happen again" the teacher just stopped and said "Just sit down.". Oscar looked at me and smiled I knew it was fake but I smiled back to make him feel better. After class I asked him "your dad?? Are they okay?" he said "he was just checking to see if I was still alive." I hugged him "Are you okay?". I knew he wasn't I knew he had some problems with his family because every time I'd talk about it he'd get a look on his face I can't describe it was just a face he made when he heard parents. I didn't wanna push him so I didn't say anything. I let go of him but he just grabbed my hands and put them around him again and hugged back. For a moment I thought he was gonna cry but he didn't we just went to our next class holding hands. I walked him to his class and kissed his forehead "Text me if you need anything." I told him. I had just realized that everyone was staring but I didn't care all I cared about was Oscar being happy again. he hugged me tightly and walked into his class.

As I walked away from his class and went to mine everyone seemed to stare at me. I had asked "Is there something on me??" after that everyone looked away. During lunch Oscar seemed a bit more like himself. I didn't wanna ruin it but I had to ask "That's the matter with your family?" he looked at me and said "Everything." He put his head on my shoulder and said "I'm sorry you like someone like me.". I was stunned he looked at me and said "I'm sorry..." he started to tear up. I didn't know what to do so I wrapped my arms around him as he start to cry and said "I'm not.". He took his arms out of his hoodie pockets and wrapped them around my waist, and cried into my chest. Everybody was gone it was just me and him. He pulled my waist closer and hugged tighter and continued to cry. I thought "I don't know what his dad said but I will make him pay for hurting the one I hold closest to me."
