Black Rose

I'm sorry people, but it's kinda hard to have Arth go to the ball with every girl, soooo, I'll go with the second option.

Plus, I have the character pics on my Pat reon. Go view it. However, Warning.

I don't have enough chapters so I can't keep my tier promises at the moment.

If you join, you will have to wait a bit.

Anyways, enjoy.

Arth was close to having enough.

People just wouldn't stop pestering Scarlett, throughout the day, during lunch, classes, in the hallway, everywhere.

It left a bad taste in his mouth.

His mind would often get sidetracked during class as he would stray away from potions and theories to a girl adorned in red.

Slowly, he forgot about everything else.

He couldn't ignore her pleas of help on her face anymore. He couldn't ignore her feelings with his flimsy excuse anymore.

He had to take responsibility.

Arth scratched his hair in a very aggravated manner before making his way down to Scarlett who had just rejected another person.

"WHY WON'T YOU GO TO THE BALL WITH ME?"

"I'm sorry, I just-"

"YOU HAVEN'T ACCEPTED ANYONE ELSE'S INVITATION EITHER! JUST WHO ARE YOU WAITING FOR!"

"U-uhm-"

"WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS-"

Arth let out a loud cough before firmly grabbing the shoulder of the boy who was screaming at Scarlett.

For once, Arth voluntarily stepped into the spotlight.

"That's enough I think. Please lower your voice."

"GET YOUR HANDS OFF ME! WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE-"

The boy turned around, glaring at Arth as if wanting to attack him when he saw Arth's face and faltered.

Immediately, whispers erupted in the hallway.

"Isn't that the fourth champion?"

"Is he going to ask her out to the ball?"

"Ooh! A beautiful girl with a handsome boy. Perfect."

"I heard that those two were step siblings."

"Ooooh! Alabama one hundred."

Arthur ignored the whispers as best as he could and pushed the boy away.

"If you can't stand being rejected by a girl, you are a pitiful excuse as a man."

The boy fell down to the floor, dazed and watched on as Arth approached Scarlett. Arth sent a sorry look at her and reached out with his right hand.

"Sorry Scarlett, I should've done this sooner."

She gave him a sad look before grasping his hand.

"I waited long enough, don't keep me disappointed."

Arth shook his head.

"I avoided your feelings and caused you harm. It was amateurish of me to do so and I believe that it's time for me to step up my game."

Scarlett let out a small laugh.

Arth couldn't help but notice how adorable she looked. The light caused her red hair to glow warmly like an illuminated rose. Her perfect red lips looked as crisp as a ripe apple. Her once yellow and snakelike eyes had mellowed down to a light green color.

She was beautiful.

He had always known it.

"At least you are admitting it. I was wondering if you were dense."

Arth sighed.

"I guess this is the moment I accept both of our feelings."

"I guess it is."

Arth took a deep breath and went down onto one knee.

He placed his other hand on top of the Snow White hand and looked up.

He felt as though the green eyes he were staring at were slowly drawing him in.

"Scarlett."

"Arth."

"May I ask a question?"

Scarlett's lips started to curve upwards, as if she wanted to smile but was doing her best to keep it in.

"What is it?"

"Will you. . . ."

Arth let his right hand fall from her grasp and slowly raised it.

Black shadowy tendrils of magic started to gather around the floor and his hand.

"Will you, Scarlett, go to the ball with me."

Arth let out a snap and the floor that surrounded him and Scarlett in a five meter radius burst into a garden of black roses.

In his hand, was a single rose, darker than black and adorned with the stars of the night sky.

Scarlett stared at the rose with a enchanted expression before gently place her hands on Arth's face. A smile blossomed in her face as she spoke in a gentle manner that Arth had never ever seen before.

"Yes, I will."
