My whole life was a lie

"Okay. I will tell you. His name is Jacob. He's courting me when we were in college..." Kaylee let out a weak laugh as she remembered how Jacob used to court her.

"Though, we didn't have a chance to be a real couple. I can feel his care and his love for me. But then..." Kaylee laughed awkwardly.

"I guess his love is weaker than I thought."

Charlotte frown. "What do you mean?"

Kaylee smiled. "She fell for my cousin's trap. That time, I'm starting to fall for him." She paused and shook her head. "I mean, I already fell for him, but suddenly he said he's sorry." She pressed her lips into a thin line.

"He said he's sorry because he's already in love with someone else. And that someone else is my cousin." Kaylee chuckled. "I was like, 'Was your love for me that low, I mean you fell in love with her even though you guys only met once, or at least that's what I know.'" Kaylee smiled. "Of course, I didn't say that to him. He wasn't even aware that I loved him once."

Charlotte rolled her eyes. "He's a jerk. It's a good thing you didn't let him enter your life completely." She sweetly smiled and looked at where her brother was. "Don't worry. Topher won't do that to you. Just forget about him and move on."

Kaylee laughed. "I already did. A long time ago."

Charlotte blinked and put her palm into her mouth with a shocked reaction. "Right, I forgot."

Charlotte held her hands and asked. "What happens after?"

"Jacob courted her and soon after I just found out they are together."

Charlotte raised her eyebrow. "That cousin of yours is a bitch."

Kaylee smiled as she patted Charlotte's hand. "It doesn't matter anymore, I am happy with what I have right now. If we ended up together back then, maybe things would change how it is now."

"What are you guys talking about?" Charlotte and Kaylee looked at the source of the voice.

Kaylee shook her head as Christopher put a jacket on her shoulder. "We're just talking some random stuff."

Christopher placed her arm around Kaylee's shoulder. "Aren't you cold?"

Kaylee smiled. "Not anymore."

On the other hand, Liam also put a jacket on Charlotte.

Liam frowned and asked. "Why are you wearing thin clothes in the middle of the night, not to mention outside the house?"

Charlotte blinked twice, and then, after a second, she smiled. She clung to Liam's right arm and leaned her head into his shoulder. "Why, are you worried that I might have a cold?"

Liam tsked. "Why bother asked if you already knew."

Charlotte lifted her head and looked at Liam in shock. She blushed. "You were worried about me. That means you love me?"

Liam's jaw dropped. He gulps. "You're overthinking."

Christopher sighed. 'Idiot!' he thought to himself.

Charlotte pouted "You love me."

"I don't."

"You do!"

"I don't!"

"You do!"

Liam sighed. "I don't!"

Charlotte removed the jacket and threw it to Liam. "Take it then."

Liam frowns and puts the jacket back on Charlotte's shoulder. "Who said you can take this off?"

Charlotte rolled her eyes. "Why bother, you don't love me, right? What's the point? Don't say you're just doing all of this because I am your master's little sister--"

"Fine! I do. I love you okay? I'm doing this because I love you what else could it mean?"

Kaylee raised her eyebrow and pressed her lips together to stop herself from smiling. Christopher smirked.

On the other hand, Charlotte, who was still shocked while looking at Liam, suddenly smiled widely as she blushed. "You love me?" She looked at her brother and ran toward him.

Christopher let go of Kaylee for a while to make sure didn't get hurt as Charlotte ran toward him.

"Onii-chan. He said he loves me." She said and then hugged her brother.

Christopher hugged her back as he caressed her back. "Are you that happy?"

Charlotte nodded.

On the other hand, Liam's jaw dropped. "Hey! Aren't you supposed to hug me and not your brother?"

Charlotte looked at him and blinked. "I need to hug Onii-chan first."

"My whole life was a lie."

Kaylee and Christopher laughed.
