Episode 34: The Overworld Journey (2)

******* Carolus' POV *******

I woke quite early since I still have a lot more things to do before traveling.

I quickly cleaned myself and change to the newly made clothes.

I made new clothes with the design similar to what Queen Thea is wearing. People around me already know me as a King so I might as well live up to the name and start wearing the clothing of royalty.

There is no mirror in this world so I just use a bucket of water to see my reflection.

I look quite good, to be honest.

After looking at reflection for a while, I started walking towards the door and opened it to see Rose standing outside.

Okay.

What is she doing?

She quickly bowed her head the moment she saw me.

Wow. I got to hand it to her. Even though she really hate me so much, she still shows respect towards me.

I just told her to start preparing her inventory for the journey and to just wait for me since I still have lots of things to do.

I quickly walk past her and started walking towards the basement.

I opened the door of the prison room.

I saw the fully cured Merek lying in his bed and he quickly got up the moment he saw. I didn't know that he is also awake so early.

I slowly walked inside and I can see so much fear in Merek's eyes.

"Morning, Merek." I greeted him like we are best friends.

He doesn't answer me and just remained silent.

"I'll be leaving my territory for a while and I started to ponder what I'm going to do with you," I said to him while slowly walking towards his cell.

I can see that he is now starting to panic fearing what I have planned for him but on the contrary, I'm going to give a better prison room.

I opened his cell door and asked him to follow me.

He was reluctant to follow but he just started walking.

I can see in his eyes that he already accepted whatever will happen to him like he is about to be executed.

I actually built him a new room in the basement.

It is much bigger and better since it has flowing water inside for him to drink and a restroom.

I also place chests inside the room filled with food enough to last for a year.

It is a much better lifestyle.

I know he is still a prisoner but at least he feels like at home with a very soft bed and a variety of clothing.

He was really shocked by what he is seeing and he is really reluctant to believe that I'm giving him this room to live in. He probably thought this is a trap of some kind but I ignored him and just start explaining things in this room.

I also make sure that there is no way he is going to escape this room and I double check every inch of this place.

I know I can just release this guy or hand him to Queen Thea but to be honest, I have forgotten about him since I got the letter from the Goddess.

I feel bad about it but I still need him for information and bargaining chip.

He said that I will face the wrath of the Kingdom of Xaerin if I touch him so he is probably a high ranking person in his kingdom.

"Okay. I guess that's about it. Do you have any questions?" I said to him after a while.

He looked at me for a moment and he is still not talking.

I was about to turn around and start walking when suddenly I heard him speak.

"How many languages do you speak?"

What? What is he talking about?

"I heard you speak Astikuvielian, Xaerinian, and Aezeokarian. You constantly switch languages like it is nothing and you are really fluent in them." He started speaking while looking at me with confusion.

I also looked at him with confusion.

What is he talking about?

What fluent in languages? I only speak one language back in my homeworld and some computer languages because of my work.

Now I think about, it is really strange that I'm able to communicate with the people here in this world like we are talking in the same language. My tongue just automatically switches language to whatever suited in the conversation.

I also can write any type of language like my hands know what they are doing.

I already past caring about what is happening to my body so I just ignored what he just said.

I turned around and started walking outside the room.

I quickly locked the door and double check if it is really secured.

After making sure that Merek is settled and will not able to escape, I quickly head towards the storage room with Rose to sort out our inventories.

We started sorting first the food and water since it is the most important thing.

We carry quite a lot of food and water and I'm relieved to know that both our inventories can store food for a long time and they will not rot.

It seems that only the inventories of the undead and monsters don't have the ability to preserve the state of the item stored.

After sorting out the food and water, we started checking the weapons and armor.

Then, we moved on to the clothing and other things like camping.

There are a lot of things we organized but managed to finish early just as the sun is about to rise.

I made sure that the entire castle is secured and to hide the items stored in my storage room in the different places that I think the people will not find it just in case someone managed to break inside the keep.

We immediately mount our horses and just use the tunnel in the basement to get out of here.

I can't really raise the bridge and opened the gate since there is no one inside to lower the bridge and close the gate.

I also don't want the hassle of jumping up and down just to close the gate and lower the bridge or using the ender pearls since it is a waste of resources.

I suddenly remembered something and quickly held an eye of ender in my hand.

I then point it at Rose while she is riding her horse.

"What are you doing?" She quickly asked me and she is shocked to see that I'm holding an eye of ender.

Ranger Skills - all weapons that are range will be much effective in battle.

Extreme Accuracy - can almost never miss a target.

Ender Dragon's Curse - all of the Goddess's Gifts is blocked and can't be used and can't be seen.

Whoa!

No matter how many times I used the eye of ender, I still get surprised by what I'm seeing.

Her complete name is Rose Cromwell which is intriguing since her last name is familiar. It is probably just a coincidence.

She is also a year younger than me.

Her status also says she is weak. She is probably still recovering from being a zombie for a long time. I should postpone the journey for now but I doubt she will agree with me about that but at least her health is still full.

Her abilities are also a little bit lower than mine but it is still probably great compared to the average people I met in this world though I haven't used an eye of ender on them.

But what really shocked me is that she also has gifts from the Goddess. They are blocked by a curse though from the ender dragon which is not great since they are pretty useful.

I was about to start reading her inactive gifts when suddenly I noticed her pointing a bow at me and she is about to shoot.

I quickly closed her status and just ordered to start traveling.

I also make sure to take it slow since she is still weak.

It didn't take a while to travel in the tunnel and we managed to reach the former entrance of the mineshaft.

I quickly mined the iron bars so we can get out and quickly put it back to make sure no monster will get inside.

I was about to order to start traveling when suddenly I saw the tombstone of the person I just buried near here.

I don't really know where to put that person so I just buried him nearby.

After a moment, I can hear the nagging of Rose to start traveling so I just kicked my horse to move it forward.

We are now galloping away in my territory and into the territory of the skeletons.

******* Legendary Creeper's POV *******

'Wake up'

I can hear someone's voice but I just ignored it since I'm still lamenting the betrayal of my own people.

They quickly used the excuse of the appearance of monsters in this world so they can rose in the ranks and take over my position and my husband's lands.

They filed false charges and used our failures from the recent invasion to pin all of them to my family so they can take over our lands.

They succeeded and they have my husband and my son executed.

They also punished me by sending me into a mining expedition in the forest near the Kingdom of Astikuviel.

The tunnels we dug were quickly overrun by zombies and that is the last thing I remembered.

'Wake up'

I can hear the voice again speaking to me but this time I listened.

'Good. You finally heed to my call.' She quickly said to me like she is glad that I finally focused my attention on her.

'Do you hate mankind?' She then asked me a question.

"Yes."

'Do want revenge?'

"Yes."

'Do you want to live again?'

I was reluctant to answer.

I don't really know how to respond to that question.

After thinking for a while I just said my answer.

"Yes."

After saying my answer, I suddenly feel like my body is changing and it really hurts.

'Good. You will be reborn and from now on you will be known as The Legendary Creeper' She said to me while I'm enduring the pain.

My body is really in pain and I'm about to give up.

'Now, use your anger and EXPLODE!'

I started screaming and I can feel my arms expanding.

A great explosion suddenly occurred.

I quickly open my eyes to see that I'm in the bottom of a huge crater.

My arms are also gone but I noticed after a while they suddenly grew back.

I can feel the sunlight and I quickly inhaled a huge air.

I'm alive again.

I started to inspect my body to see that I change a lot.

I still have my two hands and two feet but some parts of my body have now green color patches.

I realized that I'm no longer a human but I don't care since all I want is all humans in this world to die.

I was about to get out of the crater when I suddenly noticed a stone tablet that is still intact even after the explosion.

There is a carving on it.

It is written in Astikuvielian.

I quickly read it.

'To the forgotten.

Hope that they are in a better place.

So this is my grave.

I just picked up the huge tombstone marker with my hands and crushed it into pieces.

I'm a lot stronger now.

I'm back and I will make sure everyone who did me wrong will pay dearly.
