When Uncle Li was still good, he treated everyone nicely. But due to selfish reason and for more personal gains, he bribed Daniel's parents because he secretly wanted to destroy Daniel, his nephew. He already knows that Daniel will be the CEO for his father's company.  That's why the uncle purposely brought him to ATECH so he can take the oppotunity to destroy everyone who is close to Daniel... which included Daniel's adoptive parents. 


His motives are unclear but we know he did participate in illegal businesses just for profit gains and was very selfish.
