Dio stood at the edge of his bed swinging his feet up and down.

His thoughts in disarray. Everything that he had done was pointless. He had thought that his actions could save Kryptonians if not all atleast some of them. Yet what he saw today was no different than what happened originally.

Brainiac had played a more active role in the destruction this time.

There were more Martians alive due to him yet he felt powerless.

A knock on his door interrupted his thoughts.

"Dio are you in? " a nervous voice called

" Yeah I am" I answered

The door opened and Aaron and Stella rushed in.

Stella immediately made her way to me and gave me a hug.

" Thank God, you are alright"

I looked up at Aaron who spoke.

" We were really worried when we didn't see you. The evacuating team said that all the people had been evacuated yet you weren't there"

" I was back home early today as I felt like watching reruns of TV show and have some of that grape juice in the fridge. So I came back my friends are they okay?"

" Yes they're fine. They were worried about you."

" I'm okay. The second I saw the giant meteor I ran inside the basement. "

" That wasn't… Stella what is the right thing to do when you see a giant meteor falling near your city?"

" I'm not sure but the answer is definitely not to barricade yourself in the basement or so I think"

" Hmm. Okay next time I see a meteor falling I will run towards wide open spaces like we do during an earthquake. Now that I think about it was a really stupid idea"

" Don't stress yourself about it atleast you didn't go near it, some of friends wanted to have a look at it or even touch it"

" Yes, and since Superman was there even adults wanted to meet him and ask what happened"

"Really! Superman was there I should have been there "

" Nope you will stay here young man. "

" Now on a different note we met Mrs. P"

" Oh! it wasn't my fault"

" Yes you have been saying that but we met your friends they said that you had jumped on the desk to draw on the walls and it made a loud noise when your friends joined you on top of it broke"

" Those traitors, let them come later for volleyball. I will show them"

"Mrs P said..."

The conversation continued for a while after which both of them left.

Kara was here.

I doubted she remembered me. I had spent the last four years perfecting my alibi. Now I was beyond suspicion.

I could visit her and confirm if she remembered yet it wasn't feasible.

Clark would most likely be very protective about her and could see my interest in her as something bad if she recognizes me well I am not comfortable lying to Superman.

As thoughts became more and more muddled. I opened the skylight in my room. I turned around and took 5 steps.

Looking at the open sky my arms fell on the floor taking the standard crouching position of runners. I took a deep breath and let go.

Narrowing my eyes I shot off into the sky faster than anyone could notice or any camera could capture.

Seconds later I was sitting in the middle of a cloud. Half my body inside the cloud while the other half outside. It was like a cold water sauna.

The giant ship which crashed alongside Kara was another concern. I lamented the fact that I had been a casual comic book reader not a true fan who had read every single issue.

In the comics I read she came alone. In some versions she brought along a deadly virus and space time shenanigans followed or can it be the version where she brought a correctional facility with multiple hostile aliens.

Which version is this?

My earlier scan even with the bots was worthless. It was similar to a black box.

I even tried to shoulder check it with the speed of sound but nothing happened. There wasn't even a ripple effect.

It tanked my attack.

I tried to pick it up but it was too much for me alone.

Superman could do it but would he do without sufficient reason?

The governments would be scrambling here and there for answers.

Scientists and bad guys even more.

As I flew higher and higher.

I wondered if I made a difference by being here?

Kara eyed the house and the people who were going to take care of her. She had initially wanted to be near her only living relative but it wouldn't be good as everyone knew that Clark had no living relatives and he officially lived in metropolis in a small apartment.

Plus there was the issue of powers which she was developing she had from the time of landing been too strong and she felt as if she was wearing paper all over her body instead of fabric.

Her eyes were shooting lazers randomly. She looked at a tree it caught up on fire, looked down the cement floor had melted, a loud noise had her covering her ears and squatting on the floor plus she could hear the worms crawling inside the earth and the heartbeat of people who were more than 15 miles away.

Her cousin had realized this and got her glasses that nullified her Lazer vision and headphones with complete noise cancellation and she could still hear much through it.

" Kara" she turned around when she heard her name being called.

" Kal El " she saw her cousin floating in midair and then smoothly landing on the ground.

"Are the glasses comfortable? It took me quite some time to get my senses under control"

" Yes, they are good. I don't think with these I can burn things accidentally"

"Good Good … I have found a family that can take care of you. As you are already aware I & J'onn have a very public profile people want to harm me and the ones that I care about"

" Oh!"

" Kara I can't bring you to my home here. I have found people who are ready to take care of you"

" Are they special like us?"

" No they are native to this planet and they helped me out with my powers"

" Kal El do you know why I got these powers nothing similar has been recorded in the archives of Krypton"

" I don't know it might be a singular factor or a multiple factors yet these powers are deadly against a human being"

" I understand I hadn't meant to crush the canteen of water it felt like it was falling and I tried to grab it instead there were 4 holes on the steel canteen."

" Has there been any word on survivors other than us?"

" On this planet we are still not part of the greater galaxy or universe so information like that is difficult to acquire. I will personally check if there is any news about others like us"
