A Very Special Day

October 20, 2027 (Wednesday)

CREAK! The door to Hyunwoo's room creaks open, and footsteps can be heard as someone enters the room. The person bends over Hyunwoo and gently shakes his shoulder.

"Hyunwoo-ah," they whisper. "Hyunwoo-ah, wake up. It's time for breakfast."

The little boy rubs his eyes sleepily as he sits up in bed. He reaches out and grabs the person and gives them a hug.

"Mommy, did you make a delicious breakfast for me?"

Sujin chuckles as she messes with Hyunwoo's bed hair.

"Yes, a delicious breakfast is waiting for you on the table. Now come on, let's get you dressed so you can eat breakfast and head to school."

Sujin opens the closet and pulls out Hyunwoo's school uniform. She begins to iron the uniform, when Hyunwoo asks her a question.

"Mommy, aren't you forgetting something?"

Sujin places the iron in the place holder on the ironing board, and turns around to face Hyunwoo.

"No, I don't think so. Why? Do you have a field trip today?"

Hyunwoo shakes his head.

"It's nothing Mommy."

Sujin holds out Hyunwoo's ironed uniform.

"Here put your uniform on and meet me downstairs to eat breakfast. Okay?"

Hyunwoo takes the uniform into his hands and nods.

Sujin leaves the room, to pack Hyunwoo's lunch, leaving Hyunwoo alone in his room. Hyunwoo sighs.

[How could she forget? How could Mommy forget something so important? Maybe she has something planned already. . . Surely she wouldn't forget. . .]

Hyunwoo pulls on his sweater, grabs his backpack off the hook on the door, and rushes down the flight of stairs. He runs for the kitchen. Once the kitchen table is insight, he screeches to a halt, places his backpack on the ground, and sits in a chair. After Hyunwoo is situated, he sees something amazing.

A STACK OF PANCAKES WITH TONS OF SYRUP AND WHIPPED CREAM!!!!!!!!!!

Hyunwoo licks his lips, and grabs the fork that was laying on the table. He goes to reach for the plate of pancakes. . . But, the plate of pancakes is snatched by an evil uncle!!!!!!

"UNCLE JAESEONG!!!" Hyunwoo yells. "GIVE THE PANCAKES BACK! THOSE WERE CLEARLY FOR ME!!!!!"

JaeSeong sticks out his toungue.

"THEIR MINE NOW!!!!"

And just like that, JaeSeong is gone. POOF! And, Hyunwoo's pancakes are gone too!

Hyunwoo's face is flushed with anger and tears are starting to build up in his big eyes. Sujin, hearing the commotion, comes into the dining area to see what was going on. The sight of Hyunwoo on the brink of tears scares Sujin. She rushes over to the little boy's side.

"Hyunwoo-ah, what's wrong?"

Hyunwoo sniffles, "Uncle JaeSeong took my pancakes. . . ."

"That evil Uncle JaeSeong! Don't worry Hyunwoo, I made another place just in case something like that were to happen. The plate of pancakes is over there on the counter, I'll bring it over to you just sit in your chair, and I'll bring it to you in a little bit."

As Sujin gets the other plate of pancakes ready for Hyunwoo, she plans out JaeSeong's awful day at work.

[We'll see if you'll ever steal a kid's breakfast after today, JaeSeong-Oppa.]

Sujin brings the stack of pancakes, drenched in syrup and whipped cream, to the teary-eyed kid, who immediately brightens when he sees the pancakes. Sujin sets the plate of pancakes on the table, and next thing she knows, the plate has disappeared!

Hyunwoo hurriedly scarfs down the stack of pancakes in the corner, away from the doorway, which an evil uncle could come through and steal his precious pancakes. In a matter of minutes, the stack of pancakes is gone. Hyunwoo scurries over to Sujin's side, and holds the plate up.

"I'm done Mommy. Let's go to school now!"

Sujin smiles, "Okay, Hyunwoo-ah. Go put on your shoes, and wait for me near the door."

Sujin grabs her backpack that's sitting on the counter, stuffs her feet into some boots, grabs her car keys, grabs Hyunwoo's hand and rushes out the door. She helps Hyunwoo into the backseat of the car, tosses her bag into the passenger seat, and then buckles herself up.

After they've gotten on the road, Sujin realizes that Hyunwoo is unusually quiet.

"Hyunwoo-ah, are you okay? You're very quiet today. . ."

"I'm fine Mommy," Hyunwoo replies.

"If you say so. . . "

Hyunwoo looks out the car window and sighs.

[How could I be fine? How could Mommy forget something so important?]

Sujin's car pulls in front of the school, and Hyunwoo gets out of the car.

"Have a good day at school, Hyunwoo-ah. Aunt YoungMi will pick you up early today, okay?"

"Okay, Mommy. Have a good day at work."

Hyunwoo closes the car door, and walks into the school. He sighs again.

[I hope she remembers that today is a very special day. . . . . ]

Meanwhile. . . .

At KI Headquarters. . . . .

Disaster has struck!!!!!!!!

JaeSeong has not been able to open his computer and start work. He is on the verge of a mental breakdown.

[How can I get work done without my computer?] He screams internally.

[I need the computer to finish those documents Sujin wants by the end of today. . . . UGHHHH!!! I'M TOTALLY DOOMED!!!!!!!]

Meanwhile. . .

In her office, Sujin is watching a panicked JaeSeong on her computer monitor. She laughs as she watches her older brother struggle with his specialty. TECHNOLOGY AND COMPUTERS. It's hilarious how a techie can't even open his own computer.

[Is he stupid or something?] Sujin thinks to herself.

[Hopefully he's able to open his computer. . . Or else. . . He'll face some pretty harsh consequences. I mean who sets their computer password to JAESEONGISAWESOME. I just did him a favor and changed it a little bit. He should be able to figure out that his new password is SUJINISALWAYSWATCHINGYOUSOWATCHOUT. I mean, it's not even that hard. Well . . . we'll see. He has until 4 PM anyways.]

Hyunwoo's School

October 20, 2027(Wednesday) Around 12 PM

The teacher gets a call from the front office.

"Uh-huh. I have him right now. Oh. You need him for early dismissal? Okay, I'll send him up."

The teacher puts the phone back on it's stand.

"Hyunwoo, you are getting dismissed early, so head to the front office. You've got no homework today."

Hyunwoo hurriedly packs, and rushes out the door to the front office where his Aunt YoungMi, and his cousin Hwayoung are waiting.

"Ah. There you are Hyunwoo. Come on Hwayoung, Hyunwoo, let's go."

KI HEADQUARTERS Around 12 PM

October 20, 2027 (Wednesday)

"Yeah right about there. Thanks. How's the cake going Jaeyoung-Oppa?"

"I'm working on it Sujin, I'm working on it. CHILLLLLL!!!"

"How can I chill?!?!? It's Hyunwoo's birthday! A birthday for a little kid means the world to them! If they think that we've forgotten their birthday. . . . Ughhh! I don't wanna think about it. Anyway just hurry up with the cake. Jaehyun-Oppa how are the banners going?"

Jaehyun's voice is muffled because of the pins he's holding in his mouth, but somehow he still manages to answer his little sister's question.

"I'm almost done," he says. "Just one more to hang up and then I'm finished."

"Good job Oppa, at least your not slacking like this other Oppa over here."

Jaeyoung glares at Sujin.

"I told you that I was working on the cake! I'm not slacking! Not at all!"

"Uh-huh--"

Sujin's ringtone interrupts her in mid sentence as she pauses to take the phone call.

"Hello? Oh, YoungMi-Unnie. Where are you? You're almost here? Okay, thanks for picking him up. We just finished so it works out perfectly. He doesn't know right? Okay. Yep. See you in a little bit. Bye."

Sujin hangs up and glares at Jaeyoung.

"You better finish that cake in a couple minutes because YoungMi-Unnie is almost here."

Jaeyoung immediately continues with decorating the cake and haphazardly adds sprinkles here and there, hoping that the cake looks good enough for the young birthday boy.

"There," Jaeyoung says as he steps back to admire his masterpiece. "It's beautiful. I'm touched by my wonderful artistic self, and their amazing logical processes to make a magnificent looking cake like this."

In reality. . . . . . . . The cake actually looked like it had come from a bakery. Okay, maybe not a bakery, but it looked like it was homemade with random sprinkles everywhere as well as a bunch of colorful icings that just didn't look right.

"Yeah," Sujin agrees. "A masterpiece."

"I know right. I must take a moment to appreciate my artistic self."

Sujin looks at Jaehyun and they both roll their eyes.

[How could our brother be so confident in his rather amazing skill when he has none...???????] They wonder.

"Well," Jaehyun says. "Enough of the admiring. Jaeyoung turn off the light and hide, we have to surprise Hyunwoo. Sujin go grab the League of Lords people or whatever they call themselves and prepare a knightly welcome for the little kid."

"Yes, sir!" The two say simultaneously as they go out to accomplish their seperate tasks.

Sujin walks to JaeSeong's office where the Comrades await. Once inside the office, all heads turn and many eyes light up when they see that the fair maiden has returned.

"FAIR MAIDEN!!!" The gladiator yells. "HAVE YOU COME TO FIGHT WITH US AGAIN??"

Sujin laughs. "No, but I've come to ask a favor."

"ANYTHING FOR THE FAIR MAIDEN!" The gladiator bellows.

"Could you guys possibly be at the surprise birthday party I'm throwing for my son? He really likes anything to do with video games and I thought that he would enjoy seeing you guys in your battle gear. . ."

"Of course," A pirate says. "Anything to make the kid happy. Let us go me hearties! Let us make this little kid's day!"

"AYE AYE CAPTAIN." The crew and the rest that are in the office shout as they line up and walk out the door to welcome the birthday boy.

On her way out Sujin thanks the gladiator and the pirate for being kind enough to help her with her little boy's birthday party.

"Oh," the pirate says. "It was nothing. A kid should be happy, and an awesome birthday party is even better. So, no need to thank us. We just want to see a smile on the kids face."

"Thank you." Sujin says.

The pirate tips his hat and the gladiator nods his head, and then, they walk out down the hallway to hide in order to surprise the little birthday boy.

Meanwhile. . . . .

"Aunt YoungMi. Why are we at the building where Mommy works? Why didn't we just go home?" Hyunwoo asks.

YoungMi laughs nervously.

"We're here because I need to give Uncle Jaehyun some documents. Come on Hwayoung, we've got to go up to the office and give Dad these papers."

They ride the elevator and are surprised when they walk out to find a rather dark and sketchy looking hallway. The three walk down the hallway when they are startled by a loud pop.

"SURPRISE!!!" The group shouts. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY HYUNWOO-AH!!"

The little boy is shocked. He was sure that they had forgotten that today was his birthday, but they didn't. The little boy exchanges fist bumps, and high fives with the comrades, gifts with his uncles, and lastly receives a gift from his Mom.

"For me?" Hyunwoo asks.

Sujin nods. "For you."

Hyunwoo takes the box, and opens it to find a. . . . . . VIDEO GAME!! More specifically, the newest version of League of Lords!!

The comrades gasp, and Hyunwoo squeals. It's the game he's wanted for the past couple months, and he finally gets to play it. He runs over to Sujin and gives her a big hug.

"Thank you Mommy."

She tussles his hair.

"Your welcome. These comrades here will gladly play with you anytime. Now, MY COMRADES, SHOULD WE EAT SOME OF THAT DELICIOUS CAKE????"

"YEAH!"

And the whole group, digs into the surprisingly delicious cake.
