Not In The Mood
"Ha Rin, that was so amazing" Ha Eun said praising her friend.
"it's nothing"Ha Rin said
"Are you kidding me, did you see the look in his eyes?"Ha Eun said smiling.
"What look?" Ha Eun asked confused
"The way he looked at you showed that he was very impressed. I think he likes you"Ha Eun said giggling.
"stop talking rubbish" Ha Rin said. The two friends walked home chatting about the day's event.
Ha Rin got home and found the door open,her father was sitting on the chair holding a bottle of beer,sleeping. Everyday that passes he became more miserable,his drinking habit became worse and he lost his job twice and instead of trying to get another job and quit drinking,he finds a way to blame it all on Ha Rin as if she was the one who made him loose his job. Ha Rin sighed and went into her room. Later in the evening, Ha Rin's mother had just come back from work.
"how was school today?" Ha Rin's mother asked as the family sat down for dinner.
"it was fine"Ha Rin said.
"won't you ask me about my day?" Ha Rin father asked.
"why should i ?, apart from you drinking did any special thing happen? Ha Rin's mother asked angrily.
"really?, so you won't pay attention to me but you'll pay attention to her,don't forget I'm your husband"
"and she's my daughter" Ha Rin mother said
"no she's not she's someone else's child and the reason you took her in was because you can't have children so you took pity on her and started to act like her mother when you're not, she's a motherless child and the sooner you accept that, the better for you"Ha Rin 's father said as he left angrily. Ha Rin sat there quietly and watched her mother as she cried. Ha Rin got up and comforted her mother but it was still not enough to calm her down.
Ha Run couldn't sleep, the thought of her father calling her a motherless child drove sleep away from her eyes. The next morning, Ha Rin quickly got ready for school. As she walked through the hall she could hear the students talking.
"isn't she Ha Rin?a boy asked.
"i heard she had a fight with Min Joon"another said
"she's pretty brave even though she knows that she's going to get in trouble" a girl said. The whole school already knew what happened but she couldn't care less about what the others were saying, all she could think about were those ywo hurtful words her father called her last night "motherless child". she managed to control tears from falling from her eyes. As she got close to her class,she saw that some of the students were outside.
"what's going on"Ha Rin asked.
"the princes said no one could come in except you"a girl answered.
"come in"Ha Joon said
"what are you three doing?" Ha Rin asked.
"we're planning to go on strike"Jung-Hwa said.
"why?" she asked again
"because you won't admit that you cheated"Min Joon answered.
"listen,just because you can't deal with a little defeat doesn't mean you have to punish the whole class. You can do what ever you want I don't care, I'm not in the mood for games this morning."Ha Rin said as she walked past them and sat down on her seat.
