Murder on paradise:prologue

On the first day of October imperial date 1432 the seventh emperor of the Regnus empire died in what is believed to have been an accident by the general public, however it was an assassination. Only his closest friends and advisors knew the truth and they had sworn a sacred oath to never tell anyone what had happened. He was assassinated on his private island which was aptly named paradise, the only problem was the fact that his eldest son died with him. The reason this was a major problem is because in the kings will it said this.

"If am to die with or after my eldest son then my wife Fiona will be the one to choose the next emperor of the Regnus empire, until such a point as she decides, she has absolute ruling authority over everything apart from military matters in which she will trust my friend the firstborn son of the Welan family Marcus."

This was unorthodox because the empress was a female and the Welan's a family of commoners whose son had become one of the greatest military commanders in the whole empire, but he was still considered as just a commoner by the nobles.

This obviously left the empire in a precarious position because everyone was vying for the attention of the empress, other countries either sent grand gifts or threatened the empire. The only problem was her decision was one of the biggest things to happen. She would not only be choosing the eight emperors of the Regnus empire (the biggest known empire) but also the leader of the god of wisdom Leonardo's church, the person who would learn to use any type of magic without restraint.

So not only the leader of the empire but also the leader of a massive group of followers of the church.

Once the empress chooses the person to lead the empire, they would have to circumvent those who want to kill them but also the people who believe they should be the true leader of the empire…
