Pia was serving Lyra some tea when a steward entered the garden to deliver a message.


"Lady Lyra, the elders have asked me to transfer this to you. It's this month's allowance."


"Oh...?" Pia took the envelope from the steward's hands.


"Yes, the elders have found out that Lady Delju has been stealing money from the other wives. As punishment, she has been sentenced to no allowance for the rest of the year and a cut every year after that until the money is paid back in full to all the wives." Bowing the steward left the garden.


"It seems the rumors were true, Pia. Lady Delju and her maid were scheming..." Lyra counted the money then passed it for Pia to put it away.


"Yes, Lady Lyra... and I even heard that Sienna testified against her mother!"


"Gasp...now why would she do a thing like that...?" Lyra looked down into her teacup as she swirls her spoon.
