Reinforcements

Mikaela had saw her mother jump the barrier and run straight into the battlefield. 

At first she thought her mother decided to join the fight, but when she saw that Lyra isn't paying attention to the monster coming up on her left. Mika realized that something was wrong. Screaming out for her mother, Mika jumped over the barricade with her swords out.

"Mom! Look out! MOM!" Mika felt like she would never get to Lyra in time.

Everything felt like it was moving in slow motion as the monster's claws swung at her mother's head.

Lyra finally came out of her daze when she heard Mikaela shouting.

Feeling movement coming from her left side, Lyra's body instinctively ducked and quickly rolled out of the way as the monster flew over her head.

Mika came to a stop at her mother's side before throwing two fireballs at the creature.

"Mom, what happened?" Mika grabbed her mother's arm to help her up once she saw the monster burning in her violet flames.
