Achievement Hunting #2

After a long and exhausting fight, I needed a small break. Also Water. Once again, I was really bad at drinking enough. I stood up and walked around a bit to get the blood flowing again in my legs. I sit cross-legged most of the time, which is fine for the most part, but my body always complains when I do that.

It´s like 2 PM now. Perfect time to go and take a shower. Long hot showers really revitalize me. I can gather my thoughts and calm down if there is anything to calm down about.

Also, it works really well to smith new plans for the day.

Anyway, now that I was all clean again it was time to do some socializing. I grab my phone and text a couple girls I´m interested in. Chances are nothing will happen anyway but who knows. A bit of sex brightens up a couple of weeks after that.

So I start texting a few women who I´ve been in contact with, not expecting anything. I also check out the few dating apps I´m using but I´ve never been very successful, really.

"Now let´s see about the first one, should I do the old or the new method? They probably have some type of algorithm that says no to the new method but whatever, it´s faster. Okay, let´s go. /Like, Like, Like, Like, Like, Like, Like, Like, Like, Like, Like, Like, Like, Like, Like/ aaand done. I´m out of likes for now."

After that, I checked the one where they show me the closest women that also have that app. Nothing new and exciting to be found there.

Also, I didn´t really get any answers back from the ones I already know, so it was time to go back to gaming.

Getting some water ready in hopes that I don´t completely forget to drink I place it directly in front of my second monitor.

"Alrighty, back at the safe point after biggy and smalls. Time to get back to business"

I knew the upcoming parts basically like the back of my hand. I needed to play through 3 subsequent playthroughs to finish getting all the achievements, the first 2 were only to gather enough raw materials and finish some NPC storylines, which aren´t easy in this game.

You need to talk to specific NPCs after doing specific actions, or else you fail their storyline, which is also a quest in traditional RPGs.

Anyway, with the guide open there could go nothing wrong with the storylines, and if I miss a few materials I can always get them in another playthrough, that only takes a bit more time. I hope I can do it in 3 though, otherwise it would take a lot more time

Also, since the game gets harder every time you beat it, it isn´t really feasible for me to keep forgetting stuff that´s just off to the ground 10 seconds away.

Anyway, back to business. I´m now at a huge scaleless dragon. I already encountered him once and he was unkillable at that encounter. When you die at him you don´t really die but he puts you in prison instead.

I fight my way through there and go find him in his lair. I don´t know the lore behind this but you need to break a small object in his lair to make him vulnerable. And oh boy he get´s really vulnerable. I have a strong hitting weapon now and a couple of fireballs.

Once I destroyed his weak points he gives me a huge window of opportunity to strike him. The fireballs are great for DPS, so I shoot those straight into his face and let him burn.

The rest of the fight after he recovered from the shock wasn´t really a problem since he only had a sliver of health left after my barrage of fireballs.

That´s one down of the four Lords that I need to gather to find the final boss. This doesen´t take too long since I already know where to find those 4.

After placing a sacred object on a shrine you get the ability to teleport to areas you already visited, so even travel is now really easy.

After snagging up all the materials in this area I make my way to the next Lord. The pathing is fairly easy now for the most part since I´m really strong. I knew what build would make this part of the game very doable so i chose that one.

A combination of theses fireballs and strength scaling with a huge slow weapon. Game gets fairly easy when you stunlock and or oneshot your enemies.

Back to Lord number 2, a lord of the undead, swarming the area with skeletons and all in all beeing really annoying.

There´s an easy strat for that though. You Facetank him. With enough DPS and a strong armor that´s not a problem at all. The skellies he spawns he coincidentally kills himself, which is really good otherwise they hit-stun you, dps the living hell out of you and whatnot.

My fireball could have taken care of them as well but they respawn, and I don´t have infinite casts.

After a lot of "Hit him, heal, hit him, heal" and evading his only devastating attack, a grab, I finally kill him, giving me access to now 2 lord souls.

Neato, i say, chuckling again at the bad word pun i just made.

So with my big ass sword I go ahead and do the worst part of the game. The bed of freaking chaos. This is not a normal fight you must know. Noooo. It´s a huge ass tree that´s wailing around his long finger like branches to try to push you into a cracking floor. Super annoying fight, and the boss itself dies in one hit.

The Boss was easy enough with my years of practice and after i grabbed all the mats that I need from this area im off to do the last Lord.

They are four ruined Kings, similiarly called. But i lovingly call them: DPS Check.

It consists of 4 exactly the same bosses but if you don´t kill one fast enough another one spawns until you eventually have to face 4 of these faggots. One is easy, two is doable, but everything else and it just becomes a clusterfuck.

But here again, my fireballs blast them into oblivian.

The fight starts with you dropping into the Abyss where you need a specific ring to enter first. Then you can see one spawning, running up to him is no problem. Normally he shoots sime kind of soul spear into your face with a weird visual queue. You can either dodge it or block it, i regularly block those, since they aren´t that powerfull and really hard to dodge.

Once I´m in his face I cast a fireball and he takes a lot of residual damage. 3 casts later and he is dead. I have enough fireballs for 3 of those and the last one I can easily finish without the time constraint of actually killing them in time.

That´s it with the Lords, and thanks god, I almost forgot the DLC. I usually don´t play this one since it´s a lot of running and normally I´m super strong at this point, or really weak, and I just wanna finish this build / playthrough.

Anyway, guided by the allmighty walkthrough I manage to find everything I need in the DLC, kill the 3 Bosses and head back to the Endboss.

The path is littered with Black Knights, Strong, regubal monsters, and, as I assume, the personal guard of the Endboss. Everyone of them has a unique weapon, which is actually very powerfull, but I don´t have the time to keep killing them.

So I run past all of these guys, traversing hard to walk on ledges and find myself before the bossroom. I take a deep breath and close my eyes for a couple of seconds. I haven´t done big boy firesword in a long time and my parry skills aren´t up do date.

But after finishing the DLC i grew confident. That content is by far harder than the main game. Donning my shield and Greataxe I employ the easiest strategy that I can for this boss.

Parry him.

He is a humanoid figure with a big firesword, but that also means that you can A: Parry him and B: Ripose him. Both very critical information.

On my first playthrough I remember clearly how I was in front of him and kept dieing to him. He is super fast, all his attacks have big aoe and the timings are rather close to dodge him. They are nicely telegraphed though.

So on my first playthrough after I died like 10 times in a row i figured I´d try to parry him and oh boy that works nicely. It´s about 4-5 Ripostes until he dies. That´s it.

So it´s time for me to go in. I enter the fog gate and I see how he immediately jumps at me, swinging his sword for me. I dodge because i was uncertain if I could actually parry this attack.

I turn around and as I see him going for a wide sweep I immediately try to parry his attack but the landing lag from the roll earlier made it later than I wanted to.

I was glad it did though since my timing was a little bit off. He got parried and I went on to riposte him. That one strike took about 1/5 of his HP. Now with the dangerous jumping attack out of the way I felt reassured and knew he basically couldn´t kill me anymore.

After another 4 parries the Lord of Cinder was dead, and my charakter took his Throne.

First playthrough down, and it was time to stop playing for the day, since it was 22:40 already.
