Chapter 3 - The Hunt family's secret

At the age of 6 months, Leo started to walk. At the age of 8 months, Leo started to talk fluently. At the age of 1 year, Leo starts to read. At the age of 3 years, Leo learned how to operate a computer.

Seeing his growth Jeremy and Elena was happy and worried at the same time. At the age of 4, Leo's parents do an IQ test on him and found his IQ score is 210 and had a powerful photographic memory. (Leo didn't hide his talent in this test).

As an experienced person of the Hunt family who served in the army for generations, Jeremy doesn't want people with bad intentions to keep an eye on his family. So he decided to keep it a secret.

But as a father Jeremy doesn't want to stop his son's growth, so he always encouraged his son Leonard.

Now the time was 9:00 pm and Leo was drinking a glass of milk while secretly glaring at his parents from time to time.

Today was a Leos's 5th birthday. Leo enjoyed it a lot today in the morning party. He played a lot today and had many gifts from the people invited by his mom and dad which makes him very happy.

Every birthday his parents were the first ones to give him presents. But today neither of them gave him a present, which means his parents planned something big and Leo was very queried to find out his surprise.

Glaring at his son's secret looks both Jeremy and Elena were laughing inside.

After sometime Jeremy got up from his chair and signaled Leo to follow him.

"Follow me, let me show your birthday present." By saying that Jeremy went to Leos's room.

Then, as his birthday present, Jeremy showed Leo a huge soundproof underground secret laboratory behind the house underneath the forest connected to his own room with a secret passage which made Leonard surprised. He never taught there is a secret laboratory connected to his own room.

"Hahaha..... Surprised don't you. I have the same expression when your grandpa shows it to me. Come, let me show you our family's true secret."

With a serious face, Jeremy then opened a small calendar shaped cold box, revealing two small tubes containing blue and red liquids in it.

Looking at his father's serious expression Leonard was queried to know what it was.

"Leo, listen to me very carefully. It all started in the times of the second world war. As the war goes on, we are losing too many of our men and it's getting hard for us to stand against hydra's technology.

Fortunately, Dr.Erskine deployed super-soldier serum which changed the tides of war.

But, Dr.Erskine selected Steve Rogers and many people are against it. Your great grandfather is one of them.

Your great grandfather was a high-level agent who used to deal with Hitler and the Hydra army on a daily basis He lost many of his comrades in this war. So he doesn't want such a precious serum handed over to the boy who doesn't know about war and killing.

He personally went to the Dr.Erskine base to argue with him. But Dr.Erskine decided to go on with Steve and your great grandfather finally gave up.

But, On the day of the experiment, the Hydra agents killed Dr.Erskine and took the final bottle if super-soldier serum and ran away.

Receiving this message, your great grandfather chased after them. When he went to the site he saw how Steve defeated Hydra agent and was surprised by Steve's transformation.

But he knows that Steve was nothing but an experiment monkey in the eyes of higher-ups and they are planning to use him to motivate soldiers (by making him a circus buffoon by doing drama.

Your great grandfather then saw the super-soldier serum tube broken on the floor and secretly took a few drops of serum from the broken tube to store it here and gave the remaining serum to the government after making up his mind.

After a few weeks, he actually planned to inject the serum himself. But after hearing how captain Steve rescued the prisoners from the enemy base and how Steve formed howling commanders and fought against the hydra he gave up using the serum on himself.

As a man who lived in war times, he knows how dangerous the world is. So, for the safety of future generations, he decided to make the second super-soldier in the future when the world in need. Then he secretly started collecting some of the Stoves blood while they were spared and stored it alongside the serum here".

Leonard stood there blankly staring at the serum in front of him. It took him some time to digest all the new information.

"Then what about grandpa and you, why didn't you guys used the serum?". Leo finally asked his father.

My father said it takes a large amount of serum to make a super-soldier, and we only had 21 drops of it now. Taking this little amount doesn't make us any difference

Besides the world now had a secret organization known as Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division. It protects the world from the shadows. So it doesn't need a super-soldier now."

"Actually, a few years back, I decided to give this serum to them. But I totally forgot about it when I found your mother was pregnant after many years of waiting". He looked at Leo with a gentle smile and deeply sighed while continuing.

"As per family rules, I should tell all this when you turned 18. But there is a special reason for telling you today.

When your mom was pregnant, she's already 37years old. In the 4th month of her pregnancy, we found that the nutrition for the baby was not sufficient which make us really worried about you.

After getting married, we found your mom had a problem with having a child. Even after consulting many hospitals, there's no use. It was actually a miracle for your mother to get pregnant.

We are very happy to hear about her pregnancy after waiting 12 years of our marriage. But knowing that you had a nutrition problem in the next month is very hard for us to accept. I can't describe our emotions at that time.

After making up our minds, we decided to use 3 drops of super-soldier serum each month, and progress was remarkable. Not only it saves you, but also makes you strong and intelligent."

Jeremy smiled while remembering the past events of Leo being a child.

"Well, that explains a lot of my questions" Leo commented seeing his own body muscular body.

"That was the reason I bring you here. You might be 5 years old kid, but I believe you will use it the right way in the future with your intelligence. So as of today, I pass our treasure to you.

You can do whatever you want with it. But remember to keep it safe, we might have only 3 drops of serum but, it's priceless".

"Don't worry dad, I will not let you down," Leo said confidently while putting out his chest proudly.

While they were talking the door behind them opened and Elena walked out of it.

"Why are you putting such heavy burden on our child? We agreed to let Leo take the remaining serum to make him stronger not for it to become a burden of his life". Elena says while giving an angry look at Jeremy.

Before Jeremy tries to explain his reasoning, Leo stepped between his mom and dad.

"Mom, believe me, I have already planned how to use the serum. It just isn't time for it now." Leo explained to his mother.

Elena started at Leos's pleading eyes for a moment and it melted all the anger in her heart. After taking a deep breath she decided to leave this matter for the time being.

"Ok, But don't take too long to take the serum. It might be more helpful if you take while your still growing."

"Now come let me show the gift mom prepared for you." She said while cherishing her son's little face while hugging him with a smile.

Elena then took a golden card and handed it over to Leo." This card contains 1 billion dollars and every year we will deposit 30% (nearly 0.5 billion) of our family profit every year as ur pocket money. Don't hesitate to spend the money. If it's not enough mom will make your dad give you some more." Elena says while spoiling his little head.

Leo took the golden card with stars in his eyes while Jeremy was on the verge of tears hearing their conversation.
