I walk into the Dunkirk Stadium which I saw had been transformed, to look like a banquet hall complete with a stage and an aisle to walk down. I took a deep breath and thought privately to myself,in about 45 minutes you will be up there front and center speaking in front of the entire senior class..... you got this! I went to join my fellow classmates as they proceeded to walk down the aisle. We made it to our seats and the ceremony began. The principal stood in front of the podium and began his speech. Soon it was my turn, boy was I nervous. But as soon as I got up to the stage and saw all these mature faces staring back at me my nervousness went away. "My fellow classmates and friends graduating class of 2020 give yourselves a round of applause. We made it....When we started our freshman year in high school 4 years ago we were immature and didn't know any better. We were naive, defiant and thought we were better than everyone else. But as we got older life taught us to be cautious. Not to make hasty decisions, that will keep us from playing the game of life. Then sophomore was our second year and we noticed our class got smaller because of the huge loss that we faced. Teenagers dropping out from school because they got pregnant, funerals being held because of naive idiots who thought they could cheat death. Then Junior year came around and we realized that was our most important year where it was time for us to figure out what road we were going to take and how we were going to succeed...right? Our last year of high school this year was a little more laid back but the hard work wasn't over because we had to do entrance exams, fill out college applications, and wait anxiously for weeks to open that acceptance letter. Then we had to prepare for the next step of our journey which is leaving our safe haven and going to explore the world. So I want you all to take a good look around and remember this day when you feel like giving up on your studies think back to how you made it through these last 4 years. Live life to the fullest so when you reminisce about the good old days you won't have any regrets. Thank You! The whole senior class stood up and the stadium erupted into applause as I walked off the stage and headed back to my seat.
