Raymond Silvester

Raymond Silvester, his father, was a man of few words, profound thought and immense power. Ben had only known him for a short four years, but was left with a lasting impression of the man. He even speculated that his father was aware of his superior intellect, as the man would find time to share some of his profound thoughts with him, something no one would care to do with a child of his age. His adopted personal mantra "Power Rules" arose from his father's shared thoughts. Raymond was also the most powerful member of the family, even more than his grandfather, the Patriarch of the Silvesters. His cultivation was high enough for him to roam outside the Pontine. Although what transpired on his travels outside the Pontine Region was not known.

Cultivation was another interesting concept Ben found in this world. Individuals could nuture the essence of the world in their body, which gave them powers with which they could impose their will on the world. The ratio of cultivators to non cultivators was very low, in the sense that non cultivators were the majority. Each and every cultivator awoke their Martiat Spirit at the age of ten to commence their journey along the path of cultivation. A child who did not have a martial spirit could not cultivate. The spirit was the link between the individual and the world essence, enabling them to channel the world essence into their body. The more powerful the spirit, the more powerful the cultivator would become. It was akin to talent of a cultivator, although it was not a hard and fast rule, as there were cultivators who become powerful with weaker martial spirits by means of sheer hard work. Thus a classification of martial spirits were formed based on their capability and strength to predict the fate of the cultivator. Martial spirits were grouped into ranks or grades ranging from 1 to 12 with the former being the weakest and later being strongest ones. Rank 1-3 martial spirits were also called Mortal tiers spirits, ranks 4-6 called Earth tier spirits, ranks 7-9 called Profound tier and rank 10-12 called Legendary tier spirits. Mortal tier spirits were the most commonly seen, with the rarity increasing in case of the higher tier spirits, in fact legendary spirits were very rarely seen. The tier of the martial spirit was a rough indication of the level to which the person would rise in the future which in turn affected the resources he was alloted. Thus every family and faction dreamed of their children awakening a high tiered spirit.

With their spirit awakened, the child would embark on a long and arduous journey of cultivation. It was said that the ultimate goal of cultivation was Immortality, although he did not find any names or details of any Immortal being. Milestones in the journey of cultivation was known as Realms. Sadly he only found the names of 4 out of the rumored 9 realms of cultivation. They were Body Tempering, Qi Condensation, Foundation Establishment and Core Formation. To obtain more information, one had to commence cultivation.
