You're forgiven

Sammie removed Kyle's hand and pat his shoulder.

"Kyle I've long forgiven you. Forgiveness is the key in moving on from a heart break. But no matter how much we want things to stay the same, life is all about change and it's for the better. I say it's destiny's way of making us a strong individual. Lot of unfortunate things happened between the two of us and I knew because of that we both are the better version of our self. I can't accept your feelings for me but I am willing to be your friends again." she calmly answered as she pushed her back against the car seat.

Kyle took a deep breath then placed his hands on the steering wheel. "I'm willing for us to be friends again anyway that's where we started. Like I said, I will do anything to win you back. I'm happy as long as you don't take me out of your life." he smiled at her and drove off.

Sammie didn't respond she knew that whatever she says Kyle will not bend down. Fortunately, the traffic is not heavy and they arrived after a five-minute drive. When the car stops she immediately opened the door and steps out. Kyle on the other hand took the bag from the backseat.

"Kyle I can go from here. I don't think it's the best time for you to see my mom. I haven't tell her yet that you're back. Please understand." she said as she took out the house key from her purse.

"I understand. I'll leave once inside the house." he replied.

"Thank you for the ride." she smiled at him then went inside the gate. Kyle then left after she entered the main door.

It was late at night so the maids are already asleep. She turned on the lights and when upstairs to her room. She placed her bag on top of the bed before she heads over to her mom's room. She knocked twice on the door before she heard a voice.

"Sammie is that you? Come in." her mom said.

Sammie opened the door and saw he mother on the chair reading a book. She went up to her and planted a kiss on her cheeks.

"Hello mom. How are you?" she said while she sits down on the bed.

She closed the book and placed it on the side table then turn to her. "I'm fine. I just finished talking to your Dad on the phone then I began reading the book you gave me. What about you how's the opening day?" she asked

"It went smoothly although it's very tiring." she answered while yawning.

Her mother sits beside her and patted her back "Honey you look so tired. Why not go back to your room and rest?"

"Okay Mom, I'll go back to my room now. Sleep well. Good night." Sammie left the room then head back to hers.

She unpacked her stuff and hanged her clothes on the closet then went into the bathroom to take a hot shower. After a refreshing bath she slip into her pajamas then seats on her vanity chair to blow dry her hair. She was putting the serum on her face when her phone beeps. It was a text message from Cathy.

[Are you home?]

[Yes. About thirty minutes ago. Why?] she replied. After a few seconds her cellphone rings. Cathy is now calling her.

"Hello Cathy what's up?" she curiously asked.

"Well did Kyle talked to you earlier? I mean did the two of you had a good conversation? How did it go? " she hesitatingly asked.

Sammie felt something is wrong. "Cathy what's going on? Is there something you are not telling me?"

"Oh, nothing. I'm just curious. That's all. That's all. Promise." Cathy stuttered her words.

"Cathy you are not good liar. Please spill the beans or I'm not talking to you for a month." She threatened her since she knows Cathy can't stand it and will give in to her.

"Okay. Okay. Kyle talked to us and he asked for our help. He wants to bring you home tonight so the two of you can have a serious conversation. He really looked sincere so Mizzy and I agreed to help him. That's all." Cathy stated.

Sammie felt bad. "So that's why you didn't help me earlier huh. I'm also your friend. This is the first and last time okay. If this happens again. I'm not talking to both of you ever. understood!"

"Promise the first and last. Sorry Sammie. Don't be mad anymore. Love you friend. I'll cook your favorite pasta to make up for to you. Do you forgive us?" she said with a pitiful voice.

"Alright. You're forgiven. I'll sleep now. Goodnight." she ended the call and climbed up the bed to sleep.

The next morning Sammie woke up late. She checks her phone and found no important messages so she put it back on the side table then stands up a d stretch. She went inside the bathroom to freshen up and brush her teeth. She changed her pajama in a cotton loose shirt and shorts. It was already past 9 am when she went downstairs to have breakfast. Before eating she looked for her mom and found her in the garden busy with her plants. She walks towards her then hugged her from behind.

"Good morning Mom. Did you have breakfast?" she asked still hugging her mom like a koala.

Her mother turned around. Removed her gloves then pinch her nose.

"This girl. Yes, I'm done. Do you know what time is it now?" she said.

She releases her mom from her hug and grins "hehe. Why didn't you wake me up?"

"You looked so tired so I didn't bother walking you up. So how's your sleep?" she asked as she walks Sammie to the dining table.

"I have a good sleep. I feel so energized." she seats down on the chair while her mom prepares her breakfast. "Wow! My favorite. Fried Rice, French Omelet and Garlic Sausage. Thanks mom I really missed eating these. I love you." She said as she hugged her again.
