Hidden Boss

The demonic sword Seyna weaved through the forest with ease as it killed every monster on its way. Jin, on the other hand, was panting from all the rigorous running he was doing. He had to actively move because of the limited 100 unit aggro radius of his skill.

"Not how I pictured myself leveling up… But who am I to complain."

Jin endured the stressful way of dealing with the enemies and kept running. He had been running and resting alternatingly for the past 12 hours. For a royal demon, his stamina was doing quite well. 'This should be a side effect of having a fatigue meter.' Jin thought.

Fatigue: 87

Jin halted as the fatigue meter reached a high number. He could not risk himself getting paralyzed in the middle of a monster-infested forest. He sat and rested on a tree stump. Even though creatures kept attacking him while he was recovering, Jin didn't bother stopping them. Every attack that he endures would turn into Seyna's bonus damage.

*Swoosh*

*Snikt*

*Swoosh*

It didn't take long before the demonic sword took care of the remaining monsters.

Jin could finally rest in peace once more. 'A few more monsters and I'll finally hit LV 15'. After leveling up to LV 14 doing a similar routine for 4 hours, Jin continued his grind and was now about to hit LV 15. The experience point requirement was a bit overwhelming at a glance, but after doing the same thing over and over again, Jin became used to it.

Fatigue: 64

The fatigue meter lowered quite significantly just after a 15-minute rest, 'Wonder how much my fatigue recovery would improve if I add points to VIT...' Jin pondered. Now that he built a somehow systematic way of killing monsters with his set of skills, he now looks for ways to further improve and create an efficient way to not get exhausted often.

Without waiting for the fatigue meter to fully recover, Jin stood up and resumed running.

After 30 more minutes of Seyna slaughtering forest monsters, Jin finally reached LV 15.

Jin waited no further and immediately used the 10 stat points he gained from leveling up to improve his vitality. With the improvement of his stamina, he could now definitely run further without tiring himself too much. He could also have shorter breaks and would then have more time farming instead of resting.

"If I were to become a great demon king, I need to endure this at the very least." Jin quietly muttered, as if encouraging himself to not give up, Only two levels down and Jin is now subconsciously renouncing, but his willpower was somewhat stronger, as he pursued.

Seymus City, Altrius Continent.

In an in-game cafe of sorts where one could buy drinks and low-grade potions—

"I still can't believe that you two are sisters…" Josef murmured as he sat on a stool with a dumbfounded expression on his face. Similarly, Vince was frozen solid, both their gazes fixed on the two women in front of them. After respawning, they immediately went and met with Cherise and her sister who they're quite familiar with already…

"Mistress Death, the legendary assassin player… damn, how are you two related?" Vince finally spoke and gave an awed query. Although he has not met Scarlet— Mistress Death— personally and could not gauge whether or not she looks similar to Cherise; the fact that the two of them play a totally opposite role in-game made things unbelievable.

A cold one-shot assassin and a caring field medic… It was definitely an odd pairing.

Scarlet kept silent all the while giggling. On the other hand, Cherise felt like that very gesture her sister did make a mockery of her, "I don't think the paths we take in-game makes us any less of a sibling. Please stop questioning weird stuff…"

"My little sister's right, you know. Hahaha, she may be a 'caring support' in your team, but she's a really cold one if you get to her nerves." Scarlet jeered,

"I came here to give her a 'present', but of course, as her loving sister, I simply can't deny a request from her. Let's get to business, shall we? We have a few more days before the area re-opens, but I couldn't contain my excitement. It's an odd thing for an assassin to say, but, let's plan ahead of time. After all, it's still an S-rank area." She added.

["After killing thousands of creatures in the forest, you could feel a presence slowly peeking its head from hiding. A lurking guardian who could smell the balance of power slowly shifting in favor of an intruder. It awakens to offset things once more."]

The forest fog slowly cleared. The misty shroud that surrounded Jin slowly condensed into a single clump; forming an entity unlike any other. A gray and green colored wolf appeared in front of Jin. Although it looked menacing, it did not look like a typical 'boss' type monster at all. It barely stood taller than Jin, only around two inches greater.

Even though Jin wasn't short, to begin with, he expected a bigger enemy.

'Surely, this boss is stronger than it looks. After all, it's still a LV 50 monster…'

Jin braced himself. He couldn't be complacent at this point.

After grinding all day and all night, he successfully leveled himself to LV 18— faster than he initially thought, giving him four more days to spare— He decided to not spend any more stat points unnecessarily. Even though his stats didn't change and improve at all, he was now more adept at juggling through his toggled skill and his passive.

Running at times, evading strong attacks, and tanking weaker ones— the demon king Jin mastered the art of becoming an exceptional fodder. Even though it was an unorthodox method of fighting, it yielded results incomparable to others.

This "slightly polished tactic" could now be put to a test against a formidable enemy.
