Nobody can possibly know what another person thinks. People could say one thing only to mean another. Their actions may not reflect their thoughts.

He himself cannot say what love is, how could she? The closest he had come across love was when his mother was alive. But somehow, he knew what he felt for her was beyond infatuation. It was way beyond how he felt about anything.

She made him feel things others could not. Even though he has had little or no interaction with the opposite sex, he was certain of his feelings for her.

"I can't possibly read your mind, can I? You're the only one who can answer that." Carl said as he withdrew his hands.

Kim bit down on her lips, "I want to stay at home with you,"

He went back to staring at the pond, his thoughts unknown, "Then stay."

"But I…."

He did not let her complete her sentence as he said, "Then go."
