Prepare For The Worst

Chamberlain remained silent for a few seconds before speaking, "I'd ask you to trust me, but I'd rather you make the decision yourself."

"You do know you're asking me to trust you blindly, right? The Chamberlain a few months ago would ask me not to trust a soul, what changed?

Anyway, I can't decide that's why I called."

"Then what's your decision?"

"You haven't even answered my questions." Carl rolled his eyes.

Of course Chamberlain knew if he answered truthfully, Carl would be unwilling to trust him.

Indeed, he did not think of Carl as a friend but as a pawn. He gave Carl that position because it was his father's decision.

He should have known that his father wouldn't do that for no particular reason. As for the deal with Brandon Blackwood, it was just a simple trade.

However, things changed, they became friends. Not the closest of friends but friends all the same.
