Chapter fourteen - The last battle

We weren't prepared for what happened it was over in a blink the whole room lighted up into this bright light and then it all went dark, I thought I was blinded but it looks more like the creature won us over.

He killed all my friends my companies my world was burned to crisp and no one was left in sight why me why not kill me as well what was the purpose of all of this what did it have planned for me. I looked around hoping to hear my friends voice once more but there was utterly silence my eye sight was still gone but the stench of death was everywhere.

I'll never forget it was like I was literally in the middle off hell with the devil in front of my face I could hear him breath but could not see him or feel any presence of him being in the same room as me, my body was failing me then I heard foot steps and a laughter one I have heard before it was ---------, I couldn't remember his name or why I was even in this place it was like it all was just a bad dream. I grabbed my weapon and tried to stand up but I could feel my legs it was like it was all a sick joke being played by me, then there was this faint noise like someone trying to scream but couldn't and then there was silence, once more I tried to get my eye sight back but no luck I decided to just lay there and die, then her voice so soft and sweat interrupted me but who was it, was this just a voice a figure of my imagination or was it someone I met somewhere, it felt so real the voice calling me telling to get up and move, to follow it and I will be safe but where to how do know if its a trap or not how do I know but my instinct told me to trust the voice so I started to crawl towards it there was a dim light the way I was crawling and it got brighter the closer I got to it.

I saw this figure with long hair walking towards me helping off my feat, moving in pain I took one step at a time till could feel my legs again but the closer I got to the end the faster this shadow faded like it was just a memory of some sort I started to feel more confused than before its like someone just stole my memories and left me for dead, I finally got the entrance of the cave and as I walked out knowing no one was beside me me I wiped my eyes and once I opened them, there was armies on there knees, some face down on the ground trees burning and villages empty, it killed all of them and it stared right at me it was like it was trying to tell me something but ill never forget the expression on it face it was unhappy like we where to late like it wasn't its fault that all of this happened, then a bright light appeared behind it and he fell towards the earth it started to move its wings and that is when I heard this voice in my head started to mutter words that I could not make out but I had a feeling that I needed to kill it it felt like this monster falling it front of me has found peace I closed my eyes with tears falling to the ground and then I heard the voice clearly I muttered the words softly as the tears falling to the ground then I saw her the voice that in my hand it was as clear as day her name was Ann wasn't it I consulted myself as the memories of us together played in my head I knew that I would never to live without her and yet I left her behind was it selfish of me or did I actually have a reason for it, As I took my last breath I muttered Ann please forgive me and all the harm I have done to you then I picked up the sword and slit my throat falling to the ground I felt a moment of peace as the last teardrop ill ever shed falls to the ground my body was lifeless not even I could predict what happened next I could feel my breath coming back the pain in my throat was gone and I was looking up towards myself standing there smiling at me then all the memories came back I knew what had to me done I stood up and ran towards the portal cutting down every enemy inside I could find the weapon in my hand started to change with every slice and cut I made.

I knew this not where my story ends but I never expected what I found on the other side of that portal. My wife Sarah came out of the kitchen interrupting the story smiling at me and said "that's enough of the story for one day."

the kids muttered but mom and then I said "your mom is right go and brush your teeth and get ready for bed."

as the kids left three generals walked in and said "we have done it the portal has been fixed you can go back and safe you home land" if only I knew there true intentions at that moment I wouldn't have agreed on it.
