Max gently placed his one free hand against Mereleona's waist and pushed gently against her. "Hey, Meme, could you please get off of me please? Though I dont mind this position, in the middle of the hallway doesnt seem that romantic."
Mereleona laughed against him, her arms around his neck, her face buried against his neck. "If you dont think that this is romantic then you still have a lot to learn." She kissed his neck and then pushed herself off him, standing up and smiling down at him. "I'll see you later tonight Maxy, so keep your bed warm for me." With those words, she turned around and began to walk down the hallway, her ass swaying from side to side as she walked.
Shaking his head, Max turned to the final woman who had tackled him, A small ten year old girl with blonde hair. He smiled and sat up, removing his arm from beneath her small figure. "Them I understand because their both crazy in their own way, but why you Tilith? Aren't you supposed to be super inteligent or something?" Max poked her side with a finger and laughed as she squirmed.
"Just because I'm part of the system doesn't mean I was always part of it." Tilith said as she also sat up, readjusting the long button-down shirt. "I was once just a regular human but I spun the wheel and landed on my hearts desire just like you. My hearts desire was to help others and in return I was given immortality to help people for the rest of time."
Max couldn't say he was too shocked by this as The Wheel was totally unpredictable in what one would recieve at least when it came to the wild card. However, this could all be pushed aside when Max realized one thing. "So....then lets just make the most of our time together, you must've been lonely whike inside the system with no one to talk to."
Tilith stood up from the floor and smiled sweetly, her childish face making it even sweeter. "That's alright, I'm doing just fine for the time being. You probably don't realize it yet, but when people watch you do the things you do, they slowly begin to count on you, to rely on you. I'm one of those people!! So don't let me down." With those words, she turned around and skipped her way down the hall and out of sight.
Max pushed himself off the floor and dusted himself off, his body now feeling much lighter adter having all that weight removed off of him. Their behavior was confusing to him, but he didn't let it bother him too much as he headed straight for his room, deciding to grab some clothes and go for a dip in the onsen to relax his muscles. The fight had actually taken a lot out of him, the five elites had actually been pretty decent fighters.
That was to say, if he had continued to expend as much magic as he had been using, he would've been forced to show them his trump card, and that would've drained his mana reserves to absolute zero. If he had to fight five more guys who were that strong then he no doubt would've had a huge problem on his hands. Luckily however, things seemed to work out in his favor this time, ending in a win for team Max.
"Can't wait for that bath," Max said as he grabbed a set of shorts from his room and then began his walk back down the hall. He was about halfway there when he heard someone running up behind him.
Turning around, Max watched as Mimosa, clad in only a white fluffy robe and no shoes, came sprinting down the hallway and stopped next to him. He didn't know why she was running, but he stayed right there as her breathing returned to normal.
"Hey Mimosa," Max greeted her, a warm smile on his face. "Here to take a bath with the pervert? Good idea." He turned around an started to walk down the hall, but was stopped when she grabbed the back of his shirt.
"Max, there's something I want to tell you," Mimosa said, her face slowly transforming into the color red. "Just please here me out okay, because it's ridiculous but its true."
"Mimosa...yes of course I'll hear you out." Max said, turning around to face the blushing girl. "Whatever you have to say, you can trust me, I wont laugh and I'll take it completely seriously. I Promise!!"
Mimosa seemed to be hesitating on whether or not to say anything, her head lowered and she stayed silent, obviously mullling over the thoughts swirling around in her brain. She was probably having second thoughts, and this was confirmed when she removed her hand from his shirt and took off running towards the bathroom.
"Does she realize that I was heading there anyways?" Max asked himself as the door was slammed behind her. "Well, though I really don't want to embarass her, I also REALLY need a bath."
He began to walk forward but was stopped by another set of running feet. Turning his head slightly, he saw Noelle sprinting down the corridor at full speed clutching a piece of paper. Her face looked anxious and that made Max turn around completely.
"Max," Noelle said as she skidded to a stop next to him, her breathing ragged. She held up the piece of paper in front of his face. "Look what I found while checking the mailbox this morning." She handed him the paper, her face full of worry
"You need to work on your stamina Noelle," Max said as he took the piece of paper from her. He scanned over it quickly, his eyes widening with each word he came across. He felt his adrenaline spike and his blood beginning to boil. "Is this for real Noelle?"
"Yeah, and it starts tomorrow, January 8th," Noelle explained, her face changing into one of excitement. "All you have to do in order to enter is to bring your grimoire, state your name and grab a slot number. Essentially, anyone is allowed to enter. These things are generally only held 4 times a year!!"
The thing Max was holding in his hands was a paper that gave information on a magic tournament known as "The Tournament Of Magic". Though he gave them zero points on the creativity of names, he gave them full marks for the creation of a tournament. It said that anyone with a grimoire could enter, which esentially meant that even magic knight captains could enter, even magic vice captains.
"So your showing this to me because you want me to take part in this tournament?" Max asked as he folded up the piece of paper.
"Oh, don't get me wrong little bug," Noelle said as she flipped her hair with back of her hand, cleary returning to her normal self. "As royalty, I have no obligation to inform you of anything, but I figured that you would want to know."
She turned around and began walking away, an air of superiority surrounding her. However, before she was out of earshot, she paused and turned her head slightly to look at him. "However, my family will no doubt take part. Please, for me, win and show them how great you really are!!" With those words she turned and ran to the direction of her room.
"What is up with all the females in my life?" Max asked as he turned back around and walked towards the bathroom. "One's a tsundere, one's too shy, and the other I can't tell what she's thinking half the time!!" He rubbed his temples as he stopped by the bathroom door. "And then there's Tilith who I also fail to understand at times. I'm starting think that everyone is just keen on fucking with me."
He grinned, clenching his fists. "Though I am psyched for this tournament. It'll be a good test of my current abilities. I'll crush the competition and find out how I stand to a magic knight vice captain and even how I stand against a Captain."
He reached out and grabbed the door handle. "Tonight I'll rest up and get plenty of sleep, and then I'll head out first thing in the morning for the place where the tournament was being held. I'll grab this chance and show everyone what I'm made of!!"
