Chapter 4

"What is this?" An annoyed Yu Zhao throws the envelope on the coffee table while his mother sat calmly while sipping her evening tea.

"Do you like any of them?" She asked as she kept the newspaper aside which she was reading earlier. She said referring to the photos of the girls in the envelope.

"Mom!" He gritted.

"Don't you dare talk to mom that way or I'll give a good beating later." Yu Huan sat on the edge of the sofa before shooting a glare at her brother who was now beyond angry.

"Your siding with her?" He raised his brows.

"She's not wrong then why not." She grinned.

"Fine! You both do whatever you want but I don't have space for anyone on my life just get that in your brains." He loosened his tie and left.

"Do you think it's right?" Mrs Yu asked Yu Huan with worry written all very her face.

"Ma." Yu Huan rubbed her mom's shoulders to comfort her. "We need to do this. This is for his betterment." Mrs Yu looked at her daughter who was confident yet concerned about her brother. "He has build a wall around himself. We need to break that wall." She smiled at her mom giving her assurance.

"Hello." Yu Zhao picked his phone hastily as if he had been waiting for this call forever.

"We found her. She's back to Shanghai." Yu Zhao sighed in relief.

"Where had she been all this time? Is she alright? Is she with someone or alone?" Yu Zhao asked many questions at the same time leaving the man on the other line flabbergasted.

"We've got to know that she had been living in Greece with Fa Cheng in his vacation house. She is now living with him Jinping Hotel. Today they were spotted dining at an Italian restaurant near the hotel." Yu Zhao smiled sadly reminisced about how Min ting used to love Pasta and always pestered him to go to her favourite Italian restaurant down the street whenever they went on dates in their free time.

"O-Okay. Check your account tomorrow, I've transferred your payment." Yu Zhao hung up before he chocked in his tears. He was anxious since the day she left him. So many questions lingered in his mind. He couldn't help but blame himself. Min ting definitely was the only one that gave him happiness that nobody else could give him but he wondered if he also gave her the same happiness because if he did then she wouldn't leave him for Fa Cheng.

The thought of Fa Cheng hugging Min tings body in this could night haunted Yu Zhao. He indeed had created walls around him. He couldn't get over Min ting. After breaking his heart she still empowered his thoughts. From the moments when they were together to the moment when she walked away with Fa Cheng was piercing through his heart like a knife. He couldn't sleep but cried without making a sound.

"Mrs Lin." Yu Huan stopped the maid in her tracks. "Have you seen my brother?"

"He left hastily early in the morning." She replied and bowed before leaving. Yu Huan wondered about what important issue was it that her brother left so early in the morning. Since Min ting left many things had changed including Yu Huan's relationship with Yu Zhao. She had never felt so distant from her brother. They were close but still miles apart. So many unspoken words surrounded them. Yu Huan hated Min ting because she realised that a woman could either make or break a man but Min ting made and broke Yu Zhao.

"Min ting." Yu Zhao softly called out while her back faced him. She slowly turned to the familiar voice. How could she have forgotten that voice. Her eyes turned moist as she met his brown yet swollen eyes.

"Yu Zhao." She spoke softly while she smiled sadly. He smiled and pulled her into a tight hug. She tried to push him but his grip was too hard.

"Don't!" He said firmly while she resisted. "It's okay if you don't want to hug me just let me stay like this for a while." The warmth of the hug faded away when he pulled away slightly dejected.

"How have you been? I heard you went to Greece. How was it?" He asked while forcing a smile that could be very evident as much as sadness glistened in his beautiful eyes.

"I-I'm fine." Min ting was uncomfortable and looked away.

"Do you hate me so much that you can't even look at me now?" He asked her as he grabbed her shoulders and pulled her close.

"Can you stop this? Everyone is looking here. We're in a park not at home." She released herself from his grip.

"Now you're so concerned of other people." He laughed mockingly. "What about about when you walked away with that bastard? Didn't you care then how many people looked at us?"

"So it's about your ego." She bit her lower lip while pushing her long wavy red hair behind.

"What do like about that bastard?" He grabbed her by her arms.

"Leave me!" She tried pushing him.

"Tell me!" He shouted.

"He's not like you. He's not egoistic non caring jerk like you." He loosened his grip on her.

"Initially I really liked you and thought I was in love but as time passed by many things changed. You were completely absorbed in your work, we barely spent time. I tried to be understanding but when you came home late it made me insecure. We were growing distant. I tried to be understanding but I knew somewhere it was bothering me. I tried to push away those negative thoughts that surrounded me. But that day when I called you for my art gallery display and you called me and said you couldn't make it. I felt bad." She paused.

"But I asked you and you said you didn't mind." He said in between.

"That's the thing. I wasn't okay with it. You couldn't see through my act as to how much miserable I was but then Fa Cheng came into my life." She paused and looked at Yu Zhao whose expression changed. "He treated me as his friend. We met frequently and I opened up to him. He saw through me and understood me. I felt different with him and that's when I realised that I never really loved you. I was just infatuated with you."

"You what?" Yu Zhao gave her a look of betrayal.

"I'm sorry but it's just my feelings. I can't help it. I hope you will find someone who will love you. Just stop persuading me. You make me uncomfortable." She said while rubbing his right shoulder for comforting him.

"If I am all that you say." He pushed her hand away. "Then you are also a cruel narcissistic woman." He pulled her dangerously close to him by her wrist.

"It's hurting. Leave." She while struggling in his grip.

"It's hurting? It's hurting me from so many months. I've been looking for you everywhere but you."

"I didn't ask you to look for me." She looked at him without blinking.

"I didn't ask you to come into my life either." He tightened his grip.

"Leave me!" She yelped pain. "I don't love you. Just go away from my life." He loosened his grip.

"Fine. I'll go away from your life and I promise I won't come back to you even if you come begging to me." He turned away from her after looking at her once. Tears flowed as if they didn't want to stop.

"Sir are you okay?" The driver asked him while he looked at Yu Zhao's miserable self.

"Just drive." He said while holding back his tears.
