Epilogue

Life has been such a surprise. You never know what will happen and how everything will turn out. As I closed the journal I had been writing in, I drank in the beautiful scene in front of me. My 5year old son, Raja, my 2 year old daughter, Ruby and my husband, Rahim are happily playing in the grass as my son cheerfully pulls at a kite soaring in the air and my daughter toddling along with her chubby legs and her father running after her. She is such a beautiful jewel and even at such a young age, she has her father eating out of the palm of her hand. My son is strong and kind. He bears the weight of ruling in the future and is quite a formal little boy but he always has his mother by his side.

Rahim as I had hoped was the sheikh Quasay needed. He had slowly brought light into a country that has long been shadowed by darkness. Although, traditions of women are still present, education, equality and work are now available for women. The harem of women in the palace was no longer used for the pleasures of the men. For those who wished to return home or marry was given leave to do so as well as the means. For those unable to go home or marry, where given a place in the palace where they continue to live. He had slowly brought our country into the modern world and had brought in countless new jobs by working with his cousin in London. Gerard, I later met, was a beautiful man. He was kind and gentle, and I know would become a wonderful husband to his betrothed.

As to my cousin, Jessica, contrary to the rumors and my first belief, was also betrothed to the Sheikh's youngest brother, Farzan, although both are as yet too young to marry. Jessica is still in her teens and so is Farzan. Both have seen and met each other, and I had the sheikh's pledge oath that when the time was right he would not force my cousin to marry if she decided against the marriage. But so far, over the past 5 years as she has spent time with Rahim's brother she had nothing but praise of the boy. They have become fast friends and I have high hopes for the two.

The end.
