Chapter 49: Faith Over Fate

Days later, Mark had the most peaceful time of his life. He constantly avoided the place where Cardo was stationed, and even if they meet, the guy would just casually ask about him but never really chased him like a goose preacher like before.

Cardo seems to have decided to just let him go. Though the man was smiling every time they meet, Mark could see a tinge of sadness and regret on the man's face. Mark chooses to ignore it.

A couple more days passed and Cardo's activity seemed to slow down,

The young red-haired Mark was celebrating alone since he managed to snatch a purse filled with lots of cash - all without the intervention of the annoying policeman.

He was holding a couple of drug packets to enjoy the moment at his hideout.

But Mark felt something is missing.

He got power, he got money, he was feared and he was at his peak. He was unstoppable. And just when he was about to start his celebration, he suddenly felt alone.
