The warm up act of the concert was already in full swing as they finally got inside of the suite. The young dj with his set was laughing raucously as he flipped switches to soak the young people who were inside of the mosh pit. He had a full koi fish on one sleeve that the camera seemed to strangely fixate on. As the beat ramped up, Yuliya soon forgot where she was and started tapping her fingers along the railing in time to the beat drop.
Vasko was out of the suite within five minutes of the duo sitting down, and Yuliya sighed as she was used to it by now. His mind was always filled with a list of things and people he needed to make and maintain contacts with. Now he was at a public event he needed to make sure that they all knew he was there and other people knew that he ran in such impressive social circles.
Yuliya checked her appearance in the small hand mirror that she had brought, not really to look at herself as she had spent a lot of time already getting ready. She tried not to mind. She was used to being around hordes of women and she was really comfortable talking about children and the latest designer bags. It was always interesting to hear the new gossip that was going around.
Vasko's uncle looked at her and pointed down at the sea of crowd foaming to their seats. "So did you know that down there is the mayor of the city. He's supposed to be here too which is why Mario is going out full force. I wish he really would choose some better company to keep than the heinous new money crowds. Can you believe that there was a photograph taken and then posted on the tabloid sit online."
As she nodded, Yuliya wondered why she was sitting here instead of going around with her husband to be. She looked up the concert lineup lazily on her phone while her relative-in-law. His meandering conversation then moved on to the closing and job choices of the opening act. Yuliya remembered that the person sitting next to her had probably never been to the Texas State Fair where she had seen and completely enjoyed watching aged old gentlemen yodel their hearts out. Such an autotuned music was strangely along the same vein. She had always enjoyed watching people express themselves in ways that she knew that she would never be able to do no matter how much time she spent studying. She enjoyed passion of others as she did not posses skill herself. She was delighted that her future husband to be was a patron of the arts, if he was she knew that it would be acceptable for her to be as well.
This life had beauty too, it was different, but it still caught her breath. Her thoughts were shattered by her fiancee's tap on the shoulder. She felt annoyed, but was to practiced to let it show.
"Honeybuns," his voice was too loud for how close he was to her ear, instantly she recoiled. "Oh I didn't frighten you too much did I? You should reach in a more pretty way so you don't upset the company. I do have someone new to you here, this is an acquaintance of a long time. We go way back as this is Kai Afuru, you know an envoy of that other place. You should probably bow to him as his sisters are all princesses. His eldest sister was just at the UN speaking about climate change, you know all very impressive and scholarly people. I forgotten already where her degree has come from, probably Oxford."
