In three days time their exams started...As it was their last year in school,they had to work hard and get good grades so that they can choose their dream course.Sandriya and Jonathan had to put extra energy as they had missed a lot of classes.Once the exams commenced,the friends didn't have much time to hang out as before.They had exams for 10 long days...

"Finally...its over"Cathy sighed looking at her friends.

"Yeah...And now its time to start worrying about the results"Elena said in a worried tone.

"Why?Didn't you do well in your tests?"Jonathan questioned.

"Yeah.I couldn't concentrate much"Elena replied lowering her head.

"That's odd.You have great attention skills.Is anything troubling you?"Jonathan was concerned.

"Ouch...Why did you do that Shortie?"he said turning to Sandriya who had just pinched him on his arm.

"Walk ahead.We will join you in a minute"Sandriya signalled for Cathy to take Elena with her.

"What is it?"Jonathan asked after the two girls had walked a distance.

"Don't you know how to behave?"Sandriya was a little angry

"What did I do?I was just asking her what was troubling her."he had no idea why she was mad.

"If anything is troubling her,it is you brother.You big idiot.Ever since he left,she has not been the same.She is not studying properly,She is not eating well,she doesn't laugh like before...worst of all she doesn't even talk to as like before...Do you know what is more painful?Burying you feelings deep in your heart.I can't bear to see her like this.I-"

"So now why am I getting scolded because of him?"Jonathan asked softly,looking at her face reddened with anger.

"Because both of you just don't know how to understand a girls' feelings...You two are simply idiots"She immediately shut her mouth realising what she had just said.

His eyes became blank.His face had no expression.

"If Elena is troubled because of Fredie,I have nothing to do with that.Its something they two must sort out.I am not interested in their relationship."he paused,staring deeply into her eyes.

Sandriya gulped nervously as she could tell that this conversation was not over.His looks were starting to scare her.

"And now coming to the point that I don't understand a girls' feelings...So far I don't remember being close to a girl other than you in my life...So I assume that you were telling that I don't understand you"

"I-I didn't say it like that.Actually-"

"Trying to find an excuse won't help you now"he glared at her.

"Lets go now.They have already walked very far.We might lose them."Sandriya said trying to walk away.

But Jonathan grabbed her hand.

"Thats not the answer"

"Jon.Leave me.We are on the road.People can see us.Lets talk about this at home"Sandriya said trying free her hand from his grip.

"I don't mind"

"But I do.Can't you see that we are in public?You never care what people think.But I not like that.That is why I said you never understand me.There I said it."She snapped.

She lowered her head not able to face his eye.There was no response from him and this was making her feel worried.

"I am sorry" Jonathan said releasing her hand.

She looked up to see his face.It was completely void of emotions.He simply walked past her without waiting for her to come.Sandriya stood there confused.Was he really feeling sorry Or was he angry?From his face she couldn't tell anything.Before she realised, he had already gone out of sight.

Sandriya then walked home alone.Just when she was about to open the front door,she received a call.

"Girl.Reached home?"

"Just now Elena"

"Cathy and I were waiting for you.But as you both didn't come,we left"Elena explained.

"Thats alright"Sandriya replied in a low tone.

"Why is your voice so dull?"Elena inquired.

"Mm...nothing"

"Don't tell me you two had a fight"

"....."Sandriya didn't reply.

"So you did.I think instead of calling you love birds,i better call you angry birds"Elena teased.

"I am really tired.Bye"Sandriya disconnected the call.

She then went straight to her room and locked the door.

When she came back after freshening up a little...she saw a notification in her mobile.

It was a text message from Jonathan.She immediately opened it.

'Come to the park near our school after 7:30 pm.Its important' the message read.

'Okay' she typed and clicked the send option.

She looked at the clock.The time was 5:35pm.There was 2hours left.

Sandriya was racking her mind thinking what it could be.

When the time was around 7,she got ready and started walking towards the park.

From a distance,she could see the silhouette of him sitting on the park bench.He was sitting with his legs crossed and eyes closed facing the sky as if he was deep in thought.

Sandriya didn't say a word.She simply sat on the bench next to him.

The two remained silent.Minutes passed one after the other.But neither spoke a word.

"Jon?"Sandriya called softly as it was getting late.

"When did you come?"he asked rubbing his eyes."

"WHAT?!You didn't know I was here?"

"Sorry...I must have dosed off"he apologised.

"Idiot...I was getting anxious that you won't talk to me and you...you were asleep all this time.Idiot"She scolded him throwing a few hits on his arm.

"Hehe...I am really tired.Can we talk about it tomorrow?"he said pretending to yawn.

"I will kill you."Sandriya glared at him.

"Okay okay.I was just joking"He yawned again.

"Thats it.I am leaving"Sandriya stood up.

But Jonathan pulled her and locked her between his arms.

"Shall we talk now?"

"Why do you always do this when we are about to talk about something serious?"

"So that you can't hit me"

"I wasn't planning on doing that.You dummy"

"Hey look...The moon is really bright today"Jonathan said pointing to the sky.

"We are not here to research about that,are we?"

"Oh right."he became silent.

Though their arguement didn't turn into a fight or a misunderstanding...they had to talk about it through to clarify everything.Sometime that is a better way.

"Sandriya...I know its hard being with me.But..."

"If you start with the usual story Mister...I will leave.I know you are rich...You have a dangerous life...Its hard being your friend...I can even get killed...Blah blah...And the thing is I don't care...I like being with you...I am happy when I am with you...As long as you are here...I feel safe...Can you hear my words?"

"Mm..."

"Good.Now do you have anythingelse to say?"She questioned.

"...."he was silent

"Its settled then...We have clarified everything and everything solved and-"Suddenly a she felt a hand press against her mouth.

"Can you keep your big mouth shut for a moment and hear me out"Jonathan said with his hands pressed against her mouth.

"MmmmMmm"She said something...

"Listen now...I am really glad I met you.You are a sweet person...Caring,cheerful and full of energy.I really like that about you.You are honest and true.Thats what makes you different from other girls.In that way you are really special to me.All I want is you to stay by my side always..."he let out a heavy breathe and released her from his grip."That is what I was trying to tell you all this time."Everything became silent.

The two stared into each others eyes.

Sandriya smiled at him..

"Even if you didn't tell me this...I will still be your best friend for life"

He gave her a smile"I know you will"

The two sat there starring at the night sky.

"Lets get going.Its really dark"Jonathan said as he extended his hand to her to get up.

"Okay".

He dropped her at her house and started walking towards his.

Sandriya stood there starring in the direction in which he left.

"He is really smart and broad minded in everything.But how come he is so clueless about my feelings.Can it be that he doesn't like me and so he is trying to ingore me"Sandriya sighed as she walked into her house and went to her room...
