Power Measure

It was one hell of a fight between me and that shit beast dromae. While many people might see it as not a big deal but for me it was a whole lotta big deal god damn it!

Death is not something you get over. It's the rip that exposes life in a before and after chasm, and all you can do is try to exist as best you can in the after.

Like dude !! I started this game like 1 hour ago. And the starting was this bad?

How unlucky can I be? I may sound superstitious but I can't help it since my mom used to believe in these superstition and it kinda got me as well.

I remember saying " When its about gaming, its basically my yard" or something like that but I guess I was freaking hell wrong about that after that scary experience.

After healing and regaining my health points and magic points I got up and walked across the the green field. Cold breeze was passing through me. Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished. The graphics of this games nature is superb. Feels like I am in real world with fantastic environment.

After crossing the field, I came to the end of it and found a long road, which was 4 way apart. I am basically in the middle of it. I don't know which way to got. I guess I should check the system menu if there is something useful.

"Speisekarte"

The system menu appeared in front of me.

I saw an option called 'GPS'

WOW! Thats awesome. They included that feature here as well. Now I can move without the tension of getting lost lol.

I really dont wanna get lost in this weak situation of mine. I will the maximum amount of time it needs for me to upgrade my self so that I don't have to struggle in a situation like this ever again.

The GPS was telling my way over the voice system. I was walking besides the road. I heard a voice all of a sudden. I looked behind and saw a horse cart coming right this way. I cart stopped after seeing me.

" Hey, which way are you going?" the driver of the cart asked.

" Ummm, i was going for the village called ' Sadio' "

" I have never seen you in this area, are you new or what? "

" Yeah I am new here, just joined the game this morning"

" Joined the game? Which game?"

Ahh I forgot i was talking to a NPC. I really do having some problem getting adjusted here.

" I mean I came to this area this morning"

" Ohh I see, well I'm heading to that village. You seem like an adventurer. Wanna come with me? If your with me , I will feel safe HAHAHAHA "

" Well, I am not that strong you know, I don't know if I will be able to save you if any problem arises. "

" Don't worry over such thing. Just hop in "

The guy seemed nice. But I saw right through him. He was checking my and my stuffs the whole time. I guess I am empty right this moment and that's why he is just helping me. I'm not sure, I may be wrong about him.

" Why are your cloths lacerated? Are you that poor or what?"

" Actually got involved in a fight with dromae and hardly survived against it lmao"

" What against dromae? What is your adventurer level?"

I though he would praise me or something for defeating it or say something remarkable.

" Level 2 " I replied

" What !! I didn't expect that low. You were lucky enough to survive against it I guess."

Well, yeah I can't deny that. I sure was lucky to get that skill at the last moment. Or else I was sure dead. We are all a great deal luckier that we realize, we usually get what we want or near enough.

Luck is a very thin wire between survival and disaster, and not many people can keep their balance on it.

" I guess your right old man"

I hopped on the cart and went on my way to the Sadio Village.

"Hey young man, hey...wake up. You dead or what? We have reached Sadio village. Wake up, your making me late "

I heard a voice. The moment I woke up, I was in a deep sleep. I heard a lot crowdy noises. I got down from the cart. It seems like I was in the middle of a market or something.

" This is the center market of Sadio. Where do you wanna go?" The man asked me.

" I want to go to the Guild Headquarter."

" Go right ahead from this road and take left. You will find a big palace like structure after walking for a while. That's the Guild Headquarter your looking for."

" Thanks Old Man. I owe you a lot "

" You sure do and hey ! I am not an old man. I am 36 you know"

After bading each other we parted our ways. I followed the mans direction and he sure was right. The Guild Headquarter was like a palace indeed.

I entered the headquarter. I saw a lot of people inside it. It was full of different type of people and races.

" Can we help you?"

Someone tap me from behind and asked it. I saw a girl with pointy years and wearing a glasses.

" Uuuum...yes. I do need help from here."

" Well we are here to offer you our help. Would you mind coming with me?"

I followed her and went to an office room. She told me to sit down.

" So please tell me how may I help you?"

" Actually, I am a new player. So I came here to register myself."

" Ohhh ! Another new player, That's wonderful ! Its a pleasure of mine to work for you and to be able to help you"

She didn't seem surprised or anything like the cart owner back then. It seems like the official working NPC are knowledgeable about us and can differ between players and NPC's. Thats an wonderful feature in my opinion. They are probably using some high AI technology here.

" Sir, can you fill up the application here please?"

" Yeah sure, give it to me "

After feeling up the application form she brought a crystal ball like thing.

" What is this?" I asked her

" Well this is energy measuring ball. We measure the adventurer or new players energy level or power level whatever you want to call it , and rank them according to the ranking system. There are currently 4 normal ranks and 1 legendary rank. The lowest is Gold, then comes Platinum, then Diamond and lastly the Painite. The Legendary rank is Tafeite. No one has been able to get it yet according to statistics. People hardly reached Painite yet, leave Tafeite."

" Is this ranking permanent? Like can I move forward from the rank I will get? "

" Obviously you can. Every rank has subrank/position. You just have to do quests and missions and climb through the subranks. Gold, Platinum and Diamond has 100 subranks. If you reach every ranks no 0 subrank you will be promoted to the upper rank. Every adventurer have to visit rank the guild hq each week to see about the details of his or her rank. "

" What about Painite?"

" Actually Painite has 10000 subrank HAHAHA "

" Wait what? 10000!!!! "

" Yes, anyway... Lets start your energy measuring procedure, shall we?

She told me to keep my both hand on the ball and hold it by focusing all my Mana Point on it. I did just the way she told me.

" Wait ! The ball doesn't seem to work. It isn't showing any data. Is it broke or what? Stop channeling mana for a while."

I stopped. I still don't know or get whats actually happening. I saw she brought another ball and told me to do the same thing again. This time it seemed to work.

" Congratulations ! You are currently 98th Platinum rank. Hope you will have a great and safe journey ahead."

Just a bit above the lowest rank. Well I didn't expect any better. I didn't come with a golden spoon in the real world either. Seems I have to climb my to the top.

" And I forgot to tell you. Your job will have a great effect on your rank. If you get a good job it will make your rank take a big leap but if you get any useless job, your rank may drop. There will be a job selection ceremony this friday. Get a job and come again for the updated rank "

" Okay I will. Thanks for all the help. Can I ask another help from you?"

"Yes sure, just tell me."

"Is there any library in this village, I seek some knowledge and information"

" Yes there is one. Its just beside the center market."

" Ohh Thanks again"

" And take this. Your ID Plate. Your now officially an adventurer now. Congratulations again."

" Alright.. See ya later "
