W3bnovel still hasn't fixed what I'd consider a major bug that's been around for years.
I began using W3bnovel due to how it made it easier to keep track of a lot of novels at the same time (and also because they were hijacking a lot of good novels).
The most important point being, your chapter progress never being reset. In the past this has only really affected me twice (which was already really annoying).
This issue occurs when the chapter that you were on ended up being deleted. The most likely scenario under which you'll encounter this bug is if you follow a novel very actively. Eventually you'll encounter the reset bug, but at least in this situation you'd know which chapter you were on as it'd be one of the latest.
A theoretically super easy fix would be to just set you to the previous chapter. Or add a read tag to any chapter you've opened/read.
Today I was going through the deeper parts of my library (for the first time in more than a year) and noticed how around 30 books were reset to 0.
We're talking books with between 500 and 3,000 chapters which basically means I most likely won't be reading those books anymore.
Option A would be to waste a lot of time trying to figure out which chapter I was on, only to realize multiple times that I was already over 50 chapters further. Then I might find a chapter that I didn't recognize and start going backwards only to then realize I'm still way behind where I was.
Option B would be to reread, which could be really enjoyable, but I just don't have the time to do that.
Every single manga without exception was also reset, but those aren't that important.
The next temporary chapter be deleted in roughly 24 hours for anyone who wants to experience the bug firsthand.
