Skill

When it comes to popular online games, many of them have a ranked mode. The goal of said ranked mode is to face off against other players, improve yourself, and climb up the leaderboards.

One misconception that sometimes occurs is when a player feels that their rank doesn't represent their true skill level. This usually occurs when a player has played with friends at a significantly higher rank and was able to "keep up." Maybe occasionally even getting an "mvp" (most valued player) award due to points. They usually feel entitled and that their random teammates are dragging them down.

What they oftentimes don't realize is that there are many aspects of a game that aren't quantifiable in points. For example the ability of your friend to adapt to your playstyle and ensure that nothing goes wrong. This includes many aspects such as positioning, supporting, and calls all based upon game knowledge in general. These people tend to also be very toxic towards their random teammates due to their self entitlement and belief that their teammates are just hindrances.
