Is a smile something humans do instinctively or is it something society forces upon them? This perplexing question can be solved by viewing a blind infant. A being that couldn't possibly have seen a smile nor heard of one before. With minimal effort, it was indeed concluded that smiles are in fact instinctual signs of happiness.
