When an asian parent wants you to be a doctor when you grow up, there's usually a huge list of reasons. Of course there will be some aspects that don't make the list. Byproducts, such as saving lives, being one of them.

The real reasons all have to do with financial stability, wealth, the contacts you'll gain and prestige.
