Tigers are massively superior when it comes to killing capabilities compared to lions. In a one on one fight, you'd be stupid to not bet on the tiger. 


You'd have to be extremely retarded if you set betting odds of 1 to 37,000 of the tiger winning.

Just the weight difference of tigers usually weighing 150% that of lions, should make the outcome obvious. A tiger's nature of going for the kill also helps tremendously.
