Time machines need to do way more than just manipulate time. They need to be in absolute control over space as well. Thus, a basically requirement of time travel, is a thorough understanding of teleportation. If you don't, well try not to forget that Earth is moving/turning at an extreme rate. The likelihood that you'll end up in space and die, is essentially 100%.
