The Painting by Young Master Ji

Jin Mi, her face drawn, returned to the manor that evening while Ji Yuxian and Su Jiu were about to have dinner.

Earlier in the day, Madame Geng had coaxed her into eating before announcing the good news--Ji Yuxian had agreed to let her come back to Ji Manor. Jin Mi laughed and cried with excitement and wanted to go right away, but Madame Geng advised her to wait.

Concerned about her gaunt, haggard appearance, Jin Feng and Madame Geng persuaded her to take a bath and rest up so she could look her very best. Only then did Jin Feng lead her back to the manor.

Upon entering the hall, Jin Mi immediately bowed to the floor. She looked up and saw that Mo Yu was about to clean Su Jiu's hands with a basin of water. With a glint in her eye, she ran over, took the basin from Mo Yu's hands, and respectfully kneeled with one knee in front of Su Jiu, submissively holding the basin with both hands.
