Watching the two shifters chasing Lu Meili to death made Lou Mary happy. However, she needed to dispose of her as soon as possible.
"Look, she is getting away!" Lou Mary screamed furiously before sprinting towards Lu Meili. 'She's hurt! Why isn't she slowing down to beg for her life?!'
Lu Meili's right thigh was aching from the shifter's flame. It was bleeding but that was still not enough to slow down her movements as she had experienced worse. The new arrivals entertained her quite a bit. They were way better hunters than the woman she was with earlier.
'Or they look better based on the intention?' Lu Meili thought to herself as she grabbed a sturdy branch to get higher up a pine tree. Then she ran further through the woods and stopped under some tree shades to rest. She knew that the shifter would not stop chasing her.
Lu Meili did not like confrontation, even though she knew she would not lose.
She was still a foreigner in the Shou Country, and if things got out of hand like earlier, Lu Meili did not want to deal with unnecessary planetary conflicts that could be avoided. The Beasts and Orcus people, after all, remembered grudges.
'It would be easier if I had another sealing rope.' The rope that she had used to seal Long Cheng's strength was helpful for her.
"Lulu, no clues on the scan?"
"Negative, master."
Lu Meili released a heavy sigh. Her legs were getting numb, and it was starting to annoy her.
Finally, she ran to the bottom of the mountain and started climbing. It was still within the blue area, and in the event that Lu Meili was able to go to the other side of the mountain, she could destroy the sealed entrance to it.
'It would be fun to see if the beast within it decided to all go out.' She thought about the idea.
Lu Meili was also astonished not seeing any lurking dragon shifter behind her and thought for a moment that she had outrun them when all of a sudden, a fireball came straight and slightly burnt her back. "Ah! That hurts!" She screamed in annoyance.
She felt a little uncomfortable but could hear the stampede of the dragons coming right behind her.
Lu Meili sprinted faster. While doing so, she grabbed a stealth talisman from her bag. It was the only remaining stealth magic that she had as the other one was used when she was with Long Cheng.
With the blood from her injured thigh, Lu Meili swiped the middle of the character written on the talisman to activate it.
'This is all his fault!' Lu Meili complained to herself after remembering Long Cheng. She hated that her plans were ruined. 'If that male had just cooperated sooner, I would already be traveling back to Orcus for the artificial incubation.' The things that she wanted her baby to learn during the incubation were all ready.
In Orcus, her home planet, where magic and science complement each other, external birth was available.
External birth was the process where the mother did not need to carry the child for nine months personally. The fetus would be kept in a specialized guarded tube until the time of delivery.
It was still a level nine information, which was the highest on her planet. Currently, only influential people could use it.
She was always making arrangements so that she could use it since Lu Meili did not expect to meet her mate and was trying to look for anyone who was willing to cooperate even if at a very high price.
So, why not go to a sperm bank?
Because the doctor who was going to facilitate the process of her external birth forbade her.
'You want to have a baby? Do not use the sperm bank! How could you be sure that the DNA from the men there are top-notch? Choose for yourself! You also do not want your child to know that he was bought because his mama was too lazy to fvck properly.' Lu Meili frowned when she remembered what, Ye Jing, the doctor had said.
Ye Jing was one of her martial sisters, and in all honesty, Lu Meili had a feeling that the doctor was trying to make things difficult for her. Why? Because they had all vowed chastity!
'How could I fvck properly if it's not with my mate?' She was still feeling conflicted. She was annoyed somewhat with Long Cheng and Ye Jing for causing her problems.
The stealth talisman had activated entirely when the two male shifters who were chasing her appeared in her line of sight. Lu Meili glared at the shifter who caused her wound and badly wanted to revenge.
Suddenly, Lu Meili's eyes narrowed as she saw a familiar dragon shifter on who she blamed her current misfortune…
